Wow, what a gem. I have not seen such a quaint pub, cafe, village shop, B&B for years. It feels like being in a remote Highland village as the area is so quiet with the odd passer by, and the do it all services of the pub just add to that vibe.

Food was lovely, home cooked just like your mother would cook. You're not going to sit down to Gordon Ramsey aesthetics, but you're not paying that price either.

I don't generally like travelling south (from Yorkshire), I don't like busy areas, but this village and pub have smashed my stereotypical image of a southern village. Were it not for the distant hum of the M40, I could have easily been in the depths of North Yorkshire.

If I come south again, I will definitely visit.

Lovely village pub, overlooking the green. The Afternoon tea was delicious. Extremely fresh bread with a variety of different fillings. Hot quiche and sausage rolls. The cakes were lovely followed by warm scones and jam. They even served a Homemade trifle. Great value, honestly we had a great time and pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back. Service was excellent too. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely little pub in a pretty location.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the afternoon tea we booked for was lovely. They were happy to provide vegetarian options for us.
We will be back to try the breakfast soon.

Called into the Red Lion on off chance for afternoon tea. Although not expected, the welcome was warm and welcoming. The tea supplied was superb in quantity and quality.

Stopped here for breakfast as wanted to try it out as a potential venue for a bike meet. Friendly service, very tasty breakfast, great value and very filling. Also has a well stocked shop and provides accommodation as well as being a decent pub. All inclusive breakfast for £7.65

It’s sometime since we had the “ couldn’t be bothered to cook at home “ breakfast here, but on stomach rumbling this morning, I couldn’t help but to remember what a lovely excellent breakfast we had here. The dining area was the cleanest I’ve ever been to in the world & the non-robotic staff completely down to earth, homely & lovely. I do hope we can return soon after the current restrictions! Local

Great little pub always worth a visit and a not expensive pint. Always have a pt there after fishing known by the good lady as the old geezers .

We stayed for at the BnB. It was so easy to feel at home, and it was lovely to have the pub just down stairs, which was inviting!
