I came here for a coffee and cake and decided to go with the Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream for 4.50€.

Great coffee and delicious Apple Pie. The pie was perfectly crispy, warm and with tender apples.

Lovely atmosphere and great service from the smiling ladies.

I look forward to come back :-)

05/09/2021: popped in for brekkie again this morning and thankfully nothing has changed, food to die for and staff as lovely and friendly as always..plus spotlessly clean...highly recommended!!

..went for breakfast this morning to support a local business and the village was so quiet...its devastating! Staff excellent as always and had a lovely breakfast..a euro or 2 more for brekkie than in other places but quality of the ingredients MORE THAN makes up for it! Will be returning and would defo recommend...a lovely honest breakfast!!

Wonderful little place right in the sun. Quiet near the beach with good beer and lovely homemade dinners.

A lovely breakfast on our last day of holiday. Friendly service too. We even hand-fed the birds that landed near us!

Really lovely little café in the heart of La Cala. Nice pot of tea and hot buttered tea cake. Or great full English Breakfast and equally excellent Sunday Roast. Very pleasant, helpful service all that and dog friendly too.

Very good scrambled eggs with salmon, very good wraps, very good apple pie. What else to expect? Recommended.

Found this place on my second day and ended up going every day for breakfast. Excellent full irish breakfast, freshly cooked to order, fresh squeezed orange juice and great coffee. Great service also. Highly recommend.

I think I have reviewed Casa Barella before, but that was probably a couple of years ago (at least) and it will do no harm to review it again. Today I had a 'light' lunch of a tuna sandwich €4.75 and a glass of cold white wine (€2.25). The sandwich was huge and came with crisps and and coleslaw. The wine was cold and refreshing. So good, in fact that I ordered a second (one wasn't enough). The bottom line - Casa Barella is just as good as it always was. Very pleasant to sit there watching the world go by up and down Calle Torremolinos. It faces more competition now than it used to, but I am sure it will hold its own. I shall be back on Sunday for either a Danish breakfast, or scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toast.

I have to say we visited casa barella many times during our 3 week vacation to la Cala de Mijas, We had breakfast there. The poached eggs and beautiful bacon were always prepared perfectly . The service was just as perfect. Cant wait to visit again..Phil from Ireland

Sunday Roast. Fantastic. All home cooked and generous portions. Friendly atmosphere. Clean. Excellent value. Can recommend.
