El Jinete

Lovely Sunday lunch today. I had a Filet Mignon which was a good size. I wanted medium rare and it was rare/bleu but still delicious. They do a Sunday roast which looked enormous. Getting the bill was very slow which was the only issue.

Our last visit in December 2023 for two times was really nice as any time. Soup of the day, chargrilled filet steak, dessert and bottle of red wine - everything excellent, we had enjoyed it really! Best location in this area.

Gorgeous views, excellent food & service. We went tonight without reservation and were lucky to get a table as it soon filled up. It's a short drive out of La Cala de Mijas but well worth it as the location, food and service was all to a really high standard.

We visited twice during our stay and none of us could fault the food or the service. On our first visit, 3 of us had 40-day, dry aged rib-eye steaks and they were unbelievable, so well cooked and fantastic taste. The Cheritzo and Black Pudding starter was tasty and plenty of it. Whenever we are in the Mijas area, we always book. We even had great musical entertainment on both evenings. Can't wait to return later in the year.

The food is fantastic and the staff is very helpful and friendly, excellent service. The view is very nicе, too bad the wind folds were down this time (april 2024) so it wasn't as 'open view' as usual. Furthermore definitely a place worth visiting!

Just enjoyed a wonderful Anniversary lunch at Jinete. We were looking for something a little bit special and we found it. We were well looked after by their lovely staff who took into account my intolerance to onion. It is many years now since our last visit when it was classed as a Venta bar. We were outside on the terrace overlooking beautiful countryside. It really was a bit special with a superb menu. We will definitely be going again.

Beautiful setting, try and come whilst still light or for lunch. The menu is wonderful, plenty of choice and dishes are delicious. The fillet steak last night was huge but cooked perfectly for my partner at medium, pink in the middle but a tasty char on the outside, fantastic. Staff are also very attentive and friendly.
Can't remember how it was described on the menu but basically a deconstructed fish pie in the picture which I'd definitely recommend!

Nice, quiet place with pleasant atmosphere. I took steak and it was perfect for me. I would definitely recommend for my friends to come to eat dinner here.

This was our 3rd visit in the last two months.
Such a lovely place. Gorgeous atmosphere & setting. Excellent food, all deserts homemade & so divine, so different from the usual eateries out here in Spain.
The lamb is always cooked to perfection. Absolutely super. Already booked for Christmas :)

We returned to this restaurant on the last night of our holiday as always for food was fantastic superb value, the hospitality was very personable our only regret was that we didn’t visit this venue earlier in our holiday.

Wonderful: Staff, food, location, layout. Our party of seven included a 2 year old toddler and two teenagers. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and friendly relaxed atmosphere. The staff are so attentive but not intrusive which is a desired skill for most restaurants.

Absolutely amazing meal at Jinete. We both had starters and steak for main meal followed by cheesecake. Excellent service in a wonderful location.

Lovely setting with a spacious veranda. We both had the 20 euro set menu which was good food and good value for money. The staff are lovely and very attentive. Definitely worth a visit... You won't get this quality at this price! Any where else we know.

Thank you for making my birthday so special. It was exactly how I wanted to celebrate, with good friends and good steak.

The team here are really going the extra mile - ask the manager for special wines not on the menu for some surprising selections!

Sad to see a fellow Scottish guest complaining that the music was not Spanish!? and trying to threaten the management with a negative review. All while his nasty children made a mess all over the restaurant.

This is my second time visiting and it keeps getting better :)

This is the best place to get a steak. They keep the meat in a chiller cabinet and cook your chosen cut on a BBQ. All of the food here is excellent and the menu has a wide choice. Their deserts are absolutely delicious. All of this is accompanied by friendly staff delivering first class service. If your Spanish is not very good, don't worry, they can speak English. I love visiting El Jinete. Looking forward to my next visit. Top marks all round.
