Goldener Bär

Visited this restaurant after our hike to Rothbach waterfall. It has a spacious seating area outside. The food is good and the service is quick. I had Bavarian lentil salad and hubby had ham crusted hock with fries. It was an enjoyable meal.

The food was amazing. I went outside of my comfort zone and went for a white sausage it didn't disappoint. We all had different food and it was all fabulous. A real delight. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely staff, plenty of seating. Great choice of soft drinks and beer.

I had the most delicious pumpkin cream soup and a very special beet carpaccio with pumpkin tartar and goat cheese pesto. Amazing! Service was quick and kind! And, my favourite, Coca Cola Light in a 0,33 cl glass bottle. The best kind of Cola ❤

After got my hiking shoe I asked the sport shop owner to suggest a good eatery for our lunch session. They recommended Goldener Bar after they found out we are looking to try out authentic Bavarian cuisine. Seated at their outdoor seating and it is just chilling with the breeze of winds. The boss greeted us with warm welcome and food served are really delicious :) highly recommended to others especially to tourist😁 able to communicate well in English too :) indeed a lovely dining experience :)

Great restaurant in center of town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was decently priced and portions were large. Quick service. Definitely recommend!

You need to read this whole review!!! Okay so at first I was about to give them a one star review. It seemed like they were ignoring us, we thought because we didn’t speak German. But as the evening progressed our waitress really warmed up, and a couple of the waiters were super friendly and chatty so be prepared and patient. After all we are visitors to their beautiful country. The food was excellent!! We had the knoodle plate, the cheese noodles, and the beet noodle plate with French Fries, pretzels, and complementary bread. The beer was great too! Very reasonable pricing. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for some authentic Bavarian food and drink.

Delicious food, good size, great atmosphere. Must try the Kaiserschmarrn and the asparagus soup, and the schnitzel as well.

We were here 2 times. In late evening for a hot coffee to warm ourselves and it was really good (being italians). And for lunch we tasted boiled pork with tasteful potatoes. Price is the same around this rich village so, you should try this place anyway

Spacious, welcoming with great staff and amazing food. This restaurant in the heart of Berchtesgaden is a must visit place because you will not be disappointed. It has changed from my last visit and it is even better now. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very nice restaurant for traditional German food. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening. The wait staff were very helpful. Most spoke English so that helped us a lot.

You must eat at this place! It has a very friendly atmosphere. The roast pork is to die for, and the Apple strudle is amazing! It's very well priced too. Good WiFi and clean toilets.
