Great restaurant, though could be difficult to see where you go in from the door. Its got really great character and was conveniently 100m from our hotel (Premier Inn). The food choice was traditional German, exactly what we wanted and you could either choose from the buffet where you were served from displayed meats and vegetable options or from a set menu selection. The beer was great and the ambience was fantastic, dimly lit with candles but kind of magical. The service was excellent and catered for English, though predominantly a german restuarant. From couples to large groups they catered for all in a traditional setting. Would go again!!

This place was amazing 🤩. It’s slightly underground which made it very atmospheric. I really enjoyed the beer 🍺- we were a party of about 12 so we got a 5L barrel. The food was great. We ordered a mixed platter of sausages and meat which came in a long board on a mound of delicious warm potatoes, pickled cabbage and some radishes. We also had some curry Wursts to share. Everything was amazing. We were with a couple of German speakers so I think that helped .

Well, there is a place for beer and food for beer. But, the best pork knee which I ever had...

It was a typical Germany restaurant. Since we were around 20, we took a barrel of beer. It had 10 liters of beer which was made by the restaurant. I really love the beer! The taste was amazing 😍 you can also order the local beer in smaller sizes. We took 3 big plates of Pork meat. I do not normally eat pork because it is usually fatty but this one was a exception! I really love the sausage and the other meats. There is also one dessert there and it was so delicious. In general I totally recommend this restaurant for the ones who want to taste a real German food. Do not forget to reserve a table in advance!

Good food, good beer & good atmosphere. What else could you ask for.

This place is great, especially for a real authentic German meal. I always bring guests here from out of town.

Everything here from the ambiance to the beer is unique. The service is good, even when it gets quite crowded.

There isn't a large selection, and not much for vegetarians to eat, but what they do serve is delicious and in huge quantities.

My favorite is the meat platter with a variety of pork in all its glory (belly, sausage, loins etc.) kraut, potato salad and radishes.

Nice brewery in the basement. Good, unfiltered beer. I did not try the food, but the portion size looked decent. Overall a fun place. I was there on a Saturday and for a table to sit down a reservation was required. We took a seat at a tall table (keg) that was available for free seating. Overall a great place. Would go there again.

Waiters are all super nice, tasty beer and meals. We went there spontaneously to have dinner with a 4 month baby and the stroller, no one wondered or felt bothered. Amazing place

Authentic German tavern with own brewed beer, so delicious the pork knuckle (it’s a must). I love the strong and biter flavor beer and the Groninger Pils was a total gift to me. The place is really big and with a festive environment, for sure we will come back when on Hamburg.

Very unique experience. Nice ambience and good service. Quite crowded than expected. But worth the try. Limited items in the menu. The private beer was quite overrated. But worth giving a try.

Fantastic place really wonderful atmosphere- definitely not rushed- the food was excellent well presented and cooked- all the staff were wonderful- it gets extremely hot so only wear light clothes- the sharing plate is €18.50 so I would say good value- I tried the local beer brewing on the premises this was good- the toilets are up a few steps so be careful if you have a wheelchair- if you are in the area then this is an experience you must have

We loved this place! The beer was great, food was tasty and the waiter was great. We got to eat in the barrel which made it even more special.

Great atmosphere and their pils is one of the very best. Honest pub grub, and there is a vegetarian option of sorts.

More of the traditional southern German style pub. Great fun watching them actually tap the kegs in front of you. Great brats and kraut. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault.

Best German restaurant I know, always a good idea to go there anytime you're craving bavarian. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and authentic. Overall a very pleasant experience.
