Gasthof Neuhaus

They have 1/2 portion pork knuckle on the menu which is very good for small eater. I like the food especially the meat mall like dumplings.
Their staff are very friendly. Good job!

We came here for lunch and found a place instantly as it was off season/mid April. Ordered the duck and pork - both were. Try good especially the latter. Finished with a beer and price was overall reasonable with friendly service. Highly recommended!

Bavarian food can be a difficult thing to present in a unique way, and a lot of places fail to stand out from the rest. But Gasthof Neuhaus was able to serve even the most classic Bavarian concepts in a delicious and unique manner. The tages menu often highlights seasonal dishes and we were met with a schwein braten with confit tomatoes and an amazing pfferlinger sauce. The snack food of the brat kartoffeln was texturally interesting and very flavorful. The teufeltoast was a fresh take on this weird classic. Lastly we had a perfectly cooked and buttery schnitzel, which was perhaps one of the best we have had. Service was also great! Chefs please keep being creative and passionate about the food you’re serving! Easily the best in Berchtesgaden.

Very friendly stuff. Very delicious food. Hard to get table inside without reservation but at the end of Oktober was quite cousy outside also to have a supper . 5 stars , thank you for serving us for 3 times.. Some of the stuff speaks hungarian thak you Norbi..🙏👍

Visited twice and delighted both times. Ordered using my broken German, but staff were pleasant and helpful. First visit we had Spätzle, then the second time we had the Bayrisch Burger and the Original Nürnberger Rostbratwürstl. All the food was hearty and delicious, and the beer was ice cold and refreshing.

Stopped by the small town Berchtesgaden near famous Königssee and found this restaurant providing traditional Bavarian dishes at reasonable price. I ordered Pork knuckle, Vienna style pork chop, and apple rings as dessert. Everything was very delicious. The outer part of pork knuckle was a bit too hard to me.

Our meal here was so amazing!!! The best Austrian/German food we have had on our trip. I would highly recommend!

Historical landmark, local beers and tasty German food, the guys are very kind with customers. Been there several times during the years, never been disappointed!
Last time we had a jungschweinebraten and a schnitzel as you can see in the photos. Better to ask for a reservation if you want to hit this spot during times of vacation.

Delicious food, good price-quality ratio and formidable service. Even though the beer garden was quite packed with other guests that were enjoying their meal around 7:30 pm, luckily the waiter guided us to a table that we could sit at. There is no lack of choice as their menu provides a wide variety of Bavarian and Austrian dishes that caters for all tastes. The Schweinshax'n (pork knuckle) was very crispy on the outside and was served with flavorful gravy. It was so filling that I almost couldn't finish the half portion that I ordered! Special appreciation goes to waitress Septi who caught our eye by being friendly, attentive and hospitable. We managed to have a fun little conversation with each other :) She has shown us that she understands her profession very well. All in all, we couldn't be more delighted to have had our dinner at Gasthof Neuhaus after spending the day at Königssee! Would definitely recommend!

The Pork Knuckle was DELICIOUS! Easily the best choice in the menu in my opinion. Perfectly prepared and packed with flavour. I ordered a smaller portion and what they offered was fantastic value, especially for how tasty it was. Also had a baked potato which was also delicious.

Service was speedy and the atmosphere was lovely for a quiet early lunch.

Stopped in for some sausage and krout. Quick friendly eating. We really just picked up an app and wish we had more time to try a full meal.

Very charming restaurant with live music that pulls off “this is Germany”! The terrasse is definitely packed with both tourists and locals especially night time is just lovely with the lighting which made the area very romantic!

The staffs were very friendly and they have no problem with English. But you have to look for your own table as they are very busy.
If you are with 2 and see some people using big tables when it’s so packed then don’t hesitate to just ask them if you can share the table with them (I have seen many people doing it).

The food are very delicious and portions were very good! Their menu was written in both English and German. You can even order 1L beers just like Oktoberfest and you will witness Germans drinking up 1L without a problem.

The location is so lovely that you can always go to the surrounding area to stroll around before or after coming to this place. I definitely recommend other guests to come and drink or eat here.

One down side was the 2 persons meat platters were sold out :( it was a great approach of staffs to give a suggestions for some alternatives but we really wanted to have the share platters. In the end we had to rush ourselves to point out which menu we wanted as the waiter was standing there waiting or us to decide. Perhaps he could have give us more time by saying “I will come back in a second” instead of standing there since it made us stress out even though we know it was not his intentions. Or he could have told us when he handed out the menu which dishes can’t be served since it’s sold out.

Very popular, be prepared to wait for a table at peak times. Best to go at 12pm or 6pm when there is fresh pork knuckle being served. We were there just after 7pm and they were all sold out.

We absolutely loved Gasthof Neuhaus because it very much felt like a local’s spot during our vacation from Colorado, USA. People and staff were very friendly and the pork roast, duck, and liver soup were absolutely on point! Beer was of course tasty and you must spend time in the Biergarten while here. Lovely place to visit while visiting Berchtesgaden!

Lovely traditional restaurant with outstanding food! We were a large group and all the food as well as the service was remarkable. The live music on Fridays is a treat! We will be back!
