The restaurant has both great service and food. Portions are generous and the lamb is absolutely delicious; tender and juicy. The staff is attentive and friendly! I look forward to returning to the restaurant in a month.

s'Wirsthaus is a great hotel and restaurant! Wolfgang and family take care of you from the moment you arrive. Nestled in the center of town around all the shops and very near the passion play theater. The food choices are superb and nothing disappointed. They make something for every palate with a special everyday. Always a Sunday special that is outstanding. Will definitely return multiple times!

Excellent meal – don’t miss this spot if you are in Oberammergau. Great atmosphere and wonderful meal. Had an outstanding dessert too. English menus were offered and staff also could converse in English. We had good service and the staff was friendly. I had the veal steak and my husband had the salmon. Nice menu with German standards and more. Our meals were terrific – don’t miss this spot!

Hello lamb chops!

We started with the pancake soup and corn! Delicious!

Moved on to the lamb chops and turkey salad. Everything was fresh, I still can't get over how we haven't been to a restaurant that has served brown lettuce in a salad. The turkey on the salad was pretty good, but the lamb chops stole the show. These were by far my favorite. So moist and flavorful with a mustard mixture on the outside that balanced them out perfectly!

We finished with a wonderful little apple strudel!

Yes, I was there. Great restaurant. Great food and awesome staff. They told me it was a small dish but it was a big plate to eat. My hunger matched it and I enjoyed it so much. Great regional beer and weisebier.

Unbelievable flavors. Kind & quick service! Breaded pork loin and salmon dishes were outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about the quality of food & perfect preparation!!

A more modern take on the traditional Bavarian restaurant but won't disappoint the most discerning. Their traditional fare is well presented with good portions, perfectly cooked, and a very reasonable price point at the end of the night.
The menu covers more than local favourites with the fish dishes exceeding expectations for "a deep within the continent" location. They can easily accommodate large groups as the local "installation" regularly has get-togethers there with repeated, glowing reviews.

Best local place to eat. Great schnitzel.

Edit: I've eaten here dozens of times over the last few years, and the food and staff are top notch.

It's been over a year since I've had the Meerrettich-Senf-Schnitzel (breaded loin of pork filled with mustard and horseradish) and man, do I miss this tasty dish. Would have it at least once every stay in Oberammergau.

If you like lamb, get it, you will not be disappointed. The roast lamb has a crust of mustard and herbs, and is always cooked perfectly. Ever so slightly salty, mustardy, crisp exterior, with a perfect interior.

For starters get either the tomato and mozzarella in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, or the tomato soup. Both are excellent.

Very delicious and actually good German(Bavarian) food! And that's coming from a Swabian!
I can recommend both of the "Schnitzel" on the card!
It isn't cheap but well worth it, around 10-15€
