Great experience and definitely worth visiting! It has something from a lot of periods and cultures, so you ll definitely find interesting things. You ll need about 3 hours. Don't miss the gift shop which has a lot of great books.

What a wonderful way to spend the first day of the new year. Time well spent immersing ourselves in art and culture and feeling like we had a lived experience at this magnificent museum.

I was very early to my bus and decided to check out the museum while I waited, I'm so glad I did. I also liked that they had lockers for your stuff and a concierge to put your bags at if necessary (I had my large roller bag with me).

The museum is displayed nicely and I loved the different concepts, timelines, and viewpoints. Several of the displays were in German and English for translation, some displays had additional languages available.

On my way out I decided to checkout the gift shop and was more than happy when I found a book by one of my favorite artists that's extremely difficult to find in the states.

Went there for the temporary exhibition about music and AI but I actually enjoyed more the permanent exhibition. The furniture and designs from the beginning of the 20th century were impressive, I specially liked art nouveau objects.

Cool👍

Fantastic museum, I visited there 11/04/23, and spent a couple of hours in there. They had some great artefacts as well as modern artworks from contemporary artists.
Would definitely recommend if visit Hamburg to go here. It cost me €14 for an adult ticket.

There are some great pieces of the mostly modern (1900-2000) art and furniture from all around the world. Some of the pieces are extraordinary and I have never seen elsewhere, like art deco decorated rooms. Also there are spaces for children to play and fir art adults to chill. But other than that no immersive experience, no modern audio guides, so museum is just 4.

The museum is really good and well laid out on multiple floors. The details are in both English and German for most exhibits. If you are an art enthusiast, you would need minimum of 2 hours to go through all exhibits. There was also a Sesame street section with audio guide which I liked.

Beautiful space and very well curated exhibitions. I suggest spare upto 4 hours for this place if you really want to take a detailed look into all the goods here. Also the temporary exhibitions are super interesting and insightful.

Truly excellent museum, certainly one of the best in Europe on the topic. Captions not always obviously visible and there's much room for improvement, and some are in German only. Avoid the restaurant, the food is truly distasteful.

Wide variety of exhibits, reaching from historical instruments and religious art over to modern design.
Would definitely recommend visiting this museum because whatever you're interested in, you likely find an exhibit that you'll like.

Enjoyed visiting it a lot, the "Heimat" part is well done and worth watching.

Art pieces from all over the world and various eras. I especially enjoyed the piano room. The exhibition on homelessness, and multiple cities presented, was very moving and eye-opening.

Very interesting place! Very friendly staff, photographs and pictures are allowed, just no flash. The place has a lot of interesting exhibits, across time, and cultures. There's older and more modern exhibits, lots of very interesting Renaissance sculptures and other modern art as well. There was a display about companies and their advertisement art style. There was 3 levels with at least 2 independent sections per level. Also very close to the bahnhof so great place to stop by to kill a couple hours before taking a train.

Extremely interesting museum with so much to see that it would take several days to take it all in. The combination of arts and trade offers several ways of exploring the rich history of German and European art. Excellent presentation with lots of visual and auditive information as so often in a German museum. The collection of historical keyboard instruments (including harpsichords and pianofortes) is extensive and world-famous.

Some outstanding examples of decorative art and craft are here. The entire museum has the best vibe of any that we have experienced; you really get a sense that life is being lived to it's full potential within these walls. One visit will not let you be able to appreciate every on offer.

Very big museum, you wont be able to see everything at once if you are taking your time and enjoying. They have a quite big collection of East-Asian art, some Art Nouveau, Egyptian, Renaissance and Greek art. You can also discover some modern art, photography, furniture, .... really a lot of different things for every taste.

I absolutely loved it! I didn't imagine there would be art pieces from all over the world so I was very pleasantly surprised. The rules for visitors within the museum were very strict but understandable. A great visit!

I didn’t visit the museum yet cause I arrived too late for it to be worth it to see all the exhibitions. However, I visited the Frei Raum which is great as a workplace and I visited the store which had a really nice selection of books, really cool!! I’ll go back for sure to visit the exhibition!

This museum blew me away, I didn't expect it at all. Take what you think of an impressive art trough the ages museum and give it steroids.

There was actually well implemented vr, animation, mixed media, everything was so cool.
I definitely recommend this to everyone and anyone!
