Our group visit to the KGB museum early last year 2023, was one of the special highlights of our Prague holiday. We came across the museum and were lucky to enter at the beginning of the tour. The museum is different to any other museum we have been to because it's more of a walkthrough and interactive experience, and with the owner running the tours it was quite a unique experience. As we are waiting for the tour to start, TV was playing brief history of the KGB time which set the tone nicely for the rest of the tour. During the tour, the owner was very enthusiastic about explaining the KGB, memorabilia, weapons etc. and quite funny at the same time in re-enacting and teaching us how each KGB agent tool was used. To top it off, we were also allowed to take pictures with various weapons and uniforms, that had been used in the past which was a nice touch at the end. Overall, it was a perfect experience for us as we still talk about it to this day, and highly recommend the museum to visit.

I went there in May, 2023 with my aunt. This little museum is a quirky and funny one. The owner and curator is a very funny person and gives very detailed explanations about the comunist history and also produces some sound effects for the guns, while blasting the Soviet Union Hymn and parade videos. His type of humor may not suit everyone, but if you like history or the theme, you should definetely visit this one! Unfortunately I was with my old aunt who only spoke portuguese and started to feel unwell, so I had to cut short my presence there and could not hear the whole tour, but I really like what I saw and was really happy to learn about all the soviet spy weapons and to be able to take some photos with some real WWII weapons...
Not sure the owner will read this, but I was the Brazilian Levitan that stopped by some random day :)
Sad to see its temporaly closed, so I wish you all the best and that it reopens as soon as possible! Take Care!

My wife throughly enjoyed the tour of the museum in July 2023! She bought me a wonderful Lenin pin and some posters. I saw that at some point the museum was closed. I will be traveling to Prague in late March, any chance you will reopen then?

Highly recommended if you are interested in knowing more about the history of Soviet Union and Russia. The tour guide is very funny and informative let you know more details of past KGB how they used their secret weapons. There are many historical relevant things to demonstrate.

5 Stars!

I highly recommend visiting. Although the museum is really small, it’s jam packed with KGB weapons, uniforms, and other paraphernalia. The owner is a riot, and his enthusiasm is infectious. Really memorable, unique, and hilarious experience.

What a man! The owner is eccentric to say the least. Stories told with passion and amazing noises and over the top acting, which makes the experience more enjoyable. Fascinating collection of historic items - with detailed accounts of how they are used. If you squeamish then you might want to check with the owner. We had fun handling and taking pictures with guns and knifes !! Highly recommended.

Absolute must see for anyone who's interested in WW2/Cold War era history. Presented with fiery intensity by a passionate Russian with a very extensive knowledge of the KGB history, assassination techniques and weaponry. Easily one of my favourite museum experiences in Europe, the history is very much presented directly to you.
It should also be noted there is a shop where you can buy genuine soviet badges and watches. Had I known this in advance I would have gladly grabbed a few gifts for my friend back home 🇦🇺🇦🇺

A must visit museum in Prague! A unique view of WWI, WWII, and the Cold War from an enthusiastic tour guide who will answer any questions you have and has some truly interesting items and information.

You can only visit the museum by doing a tour which lasts 50-60 minutes. The tour requires a minimum of 2 people. So worth it!

Having read various Google (good & bad) reviews we decided to visit this museum and was so happy we did.
As other reviewers have said it is more an experience than a museum and the owners input is both interesting and humorous (you'll be laughing)
You also get a chance to handle the weapons on display (watch those fingers)
The whole thing lasted around and hour plus but you'll wish it was longer.
Definitely worth a visit unless you've had a humour bypass.

Number one in Prague. A guided tour option only but the guy is very passionate and well informed. The tours are mad to be entertaining and the whole thin is very interactive. I thought I knew a bit about the KGB but I didn't. After visiting here I do.
It's a small place, essentially a shop with a guys own collection of stuff. But it's great!

Brilliant and well worth the visit. Funny crazy Russian bloke gives an entertaining and passionate explanation of his exhibits.
You can only go in on a guided tour which has set start times so check the start times.

Oh maaaan, this was such a quirky and fun experience. The man giving the tour and explanation was hilarious with his performances and so informative. I quite liked him and didn’t see that sort of entertainment coming, I thought it would be a depressing and overly serious tour. I loved it. Informative, interesting and fun. His accent may be hard to follow in the beginning but you manage to decipher what he says after a bit. Keep in mind that the place is small and not a huge museum

This place was seriously great! Read the rest of the reviews so you know what to expect. Maybe not so good for kids, but you won’t find a more authentic experience. Once you realize what the displayed items are you will be in awe of what you are witnessing.

A fantastic experience. The dark history of the KGB, with loads of great artifacts and the very best guide to demonstrate them. A truly immersive tour through the soviet years.

You have to be on time, a tours starts and after that you cannot enter and have to wait. Maybe it is worth waiting because the owner makes your visit worthwhile. A lot of KGB gadgets and weapons are demonstrated and can be held by visitors. The tour is informative and entertaining, not boring. Interesting place that shows some history in a not much seen or heard perspective.

Very little place. The owner/guide is something that you will not find anywhere else in the world. The collection is unique for sure. The guide is dramatic in his own way, fun and interesting. Worth the money (350,-) but don't expect nothing else then a small private museum with an entertaining guide.

The owner is very passionate about USSR and Russian history. His acting is the biggest highlight of the museum. There are also weapons, spy kits, clothes etc. from the URSS.
Be careful not to get into a debate about current politics with the owner, enjoy yourself and take some pictures with the guns.
