We visited for the Christmas Markets and we were not disappointed. A beautiful square with so many stunning buildings, including churches & monuments. The Christmas stalls were mainly selling delicious smelling food & drink but also lots selling Christmas gifts & novelties. The smell of cinnamon was lovely & the mulled wine.
The centre piece was a huge tree decorated with baubles and lights.
We visited firstly during the day and loved it but we returned the following day in the evening and it was spectacular the lights were amazing (the tree is switched on fully every evening) the whole square had a different feel to it so alive & vibrant. The food smelled even better & we succumbed to a hot dog each which was delicious plus my husband tried the old Prague ham.
There was music & lights and it felt so festive it was very heartwarming to experience it.
You can even go on a horse drawn carriage ride
A lot busier than daytime as there were people everywhere but everyone was in good spirits.
If you're there for Christmas it's a must

Old Town Square in Prague is the heart of the city and a true architectural gem. The centerpiece, the Astronomical Clock, is a masterpiece, though sometimes crowded with tourists. Surrounding it, you'll find stunning Gothic and Baroque buildings, each with its unique character. Cafes and restaurants offer great views, but they can be pricey. The square's atmosphere comes alive with street performers and market stalls, especially during the holiday season. Despite the crowds, it's a must-visit for its historical significance and captivating beauty.

We were here for the Christmas markets in early December and had a wonderful few days. Prague is amazing, the people are friendly and it is so easy to get around either by walking or public transport. We found some really nice places to eat and crammed in so much in our four days.

My wife and I went early December in time for the Christmas markets. The old town square did not disappoint. Visually in the evening it is something special, the stalls are mostly food which has become a standard thing everywhere. A must visit if your in the beautiful city of Prague.

I visited Prague in July of 2020 and luckily it was all pretty normal as far as I could tell. I was fortunate in that as soon as I arrived I found there was an exhibit of some of Dali's work on. Dali being one of my favourite artist, I was thrilled. But the whole of Prague and especially the old town square with its gothic, Baroque and medieval architecture is stunning.

I got to sit and eat in various places in and around the square and eat some delicious meals. Some where local cuisine and I found that Prague is a great place for a burger. Not to mention their stunning gelato.

Of course one of the best things to do is to sit and have a coffee and people watch whilst taking in the amazing buildings and sights.

Iconic views you’ll have seen in images the world over finally comes to life when you stand in the centre of the world famous old town square . 360degree views offer an amazing opportunity to take pictures and shoot video reels recognisable to many . The best time to catch the square is very early morning as the sunrise happens . You won’t find the square to yourself at anytime but very early will see a lot less tourists taking the opportunity of exclusivity . A must see on your trip to Prague

I visited this place when there was a Christmas market. It was one of the best and most beautiful Christmas markets I've ever been to. Spectacular decorations, delicious food, warm drinks, and marvelous surrounding architecture.
From here you can take a few walks to many major highlights of the city, such as the astronomical clock, saint Nicolas church and many others.

This was my favorite place to be in Prague, whether in the daytime or at night. It is full of energy and beauty. I went up in the Town Hall Tower (without a guide) and it was 300 CZK so about $13.50 and totally worth it. Next time I would go with a tour which happens every 2 hours because they take you underground. Lots of shops and restaurants and the Clock Tower is beautiful!

All I can remember every one hour the bell of the tower will ring. It was cute. I visited this place during the Christmas holiday for the Christmas market. You can say that most of the stalls sold the small souvenirs cheaper than the shops.

The buildings are like gingerbread houses, I really like the architecture of Prague. We went to the Christmas market, so it was even more magical, but really busy, you should expect a great amount of people there in December. 😁🌲

If you are interested in old architecture, this area is incredibly exciting to visit. It is nice, clean and cozy here. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, cafes and bars, so there are many places to sit and relax. There is a good atmosphere here, but also many tourists. 5 stars from me. ☀☀☀☀☀

This little square was PACKED with tourists constantly, but for good reason. We kept coming back through the area during our stay in Prague because it was just so magical. The Christmas tree was massive and the cathedral and clock tower are just so iconic and beautiful. Disney-esque. You absolutely must stop by and see the area while in Prague.

I went there during the Christmas time and it was amazing. The market has delicious food like Chimeney Cakes and the tree is beautiful😍. You can also find free walking tours to know more about the historical facts of the place and the clock 👌🏻🔝

The historic center of Prague has miraculously survived the ravages of WW2 pretty much intact and is beautifully preserved which makes it somewhat unique in this part of the world. It is laced with beautiful buildings and old world charm. At the center of it is the old city square, which sports a statue, a gothic church and an astronomical clock. Be careful though, not all you see is historic and original, the city notoriously add buildings, statues etc. that look like they were built two, three hundred years ago, even in the middle ages, but are in fact 20th or 21st century products. At the end of the day its a beautiful place and a must see for any world traveler.

Cobbled streets with amazing architecture, old town square in Prague is a fine piece of art. It's like a painting 😍

One of the best squares i have seen in any of the European cities. You get hacked, when you are strolling on the cobbled streets of this place. And take turns to explore each of the location.

I strongly recommend to visit this place if you happen to be in Prague 👍👌

Anything I say won't be enough. Prague is just such a beautiful city and it all starts at the Old Town Square. But, that's only the start. Wander the meandering streets and enjoy all the beauty. Go to Prague if you possibly can!

Aside from the castle, old town square is the mostly visited and best known area in Prague. While most people are here to watch the clock change , I do recommend a visit to the old city hall, the building where the clock is. For a small entrance fee, you get to see the history of town hall and climb the tower, you get the best paranomic view of the square with all the famous buildings in your hand.

Absolutely beautiful! We came the week before Christmas and the square was covered in a beautiful Christmas market filled with so many festive delights. You can't see beautiful historic buildings anywhere else like it.
