Living here for half year as a food lover this is so far my favourite restaurant, highly recommend.
The knee on beer- pork knuckle stew with dark beer (kozel), amazing. No other words, super balance taste and not oily at all.
Nice option for mixed beer, so cool and stunning taste!! Try:)

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The food is just amazing, the prices are honestly lower than you would expect for such quality. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The interior is super cozy. Would genuinely recommend it to anyone!

We visited here twice within just a week during our trip to Prague! VERY good food and portion with very affordable price. The service is also really good!! Their daily lunch specials are the best, and we are def def definitely coming back again for our next trip to Prague! 😍

Wow!! This was one of my favorite things about Prague: best meal I had, hands down. I cannot say enough good things about the food, service and atmosphere. Each dish was perfectly curated and presented. The dishes were all timed out perfectly to where I did not feel overwhelmed. Not to mention how tasty everything was. The servers were very kind and attentive as well. I had an appetizer, cider, soup, main dish and dessert all for $42 or around 940CZK, which was absolutely worth every penny! 10/10 recommend this restaurant during your stay in Praha.

Bit away from city centre but it’s worth it to visit and try their local foods. Strongly recommend to try their seasonal or weekly menu which is on the separate menu. Chicken breast & thigh with much room cream sauce was amazing! Also very friendly and lively staffs will help you to enjoy your meal.

Wasn’t far from the Old Town, highly recommend to visit here for traditional Czech food! Goulash was amazing, haven’t tried these kind of dumplings before. The staff recommended the garlic soup was also tasty, tooooo! For starters, sausage would be the best choice, three different flavors, came with bread were perfect!

Don’t forget make a reservation beforehand, the restaurant is more popular than you think!

Over every restaurant we tried in Prague this is by far our best experience. Food and service were top-notch, with great portions. Very affordable menu and cheap price in comparison of the quality!

We spent 1390 Kc for 2 person, including 2 large beer, 1 starter and 1 main dishes each.

Photo is of the tartare (starter) and the prague ham in the back (starter too).
The Prague Ham with cheese emulsion was one of the best thing I've ever tasted in my life, no kidding.

Very pleasant place with delicious food -> very tasty traditional Czech dishes 👍🏻
Better to make a reservation but we also managed to get a table without any prior booking. Important: 15-16h kitchen is closed, but you can get a drink that time.

One of those places that immediately feels right. A friendly atmosphere full of happy conversations from all walks of life.
The service was friendly and fast, the food was incredible and little touches like the whipped butter and smoked salt served with beautiful fresh bread in a little branded bag really lifted it.
We had the garlic soup - amazing depth of flavor from vibrant thyme through to a beautiful smoked ham in the broth.
The chicken from the daily menu with mushrooms in every form, from braised king oyster mushrooms through a duxelles to pickled enokis. Such a wonderful complexity of flavor!
And the pork knuckle - probably the best I’ve ever had, with an even better name: Knee on beer.
A perfect lunch!

Everything was excellent: The menu, service, atmosphere, and the food. It was our first visit, and I will definitely add it to my list! Reservations are recommended, and make sure you are hungry!

Family restaurant with great service and choice of meals. Managed to get a table for two on a Sunday night without reservation. Do recommend the rump steak and goulash.

So I believe this restaurant is pretty much a historical landmark and a place where you can get authentic, Czech food. I was right here by colleague and we ordered the ribs, cabbage soup, a breaded chicken dish, and two different desserts. All of them were outstanding! I was pleasantly surprised by the cabbage soup with sausage in it because it was a really comforting dish. The ribs that I ordered were tender, pretty flavorful, and the lady finger dessert was a bit of a surprise. I thought the cookies would be more on the dry side but the dessert was creamy and lightly sweet.

We found this place when we were visiting Vyšehrad. Rating is high and you get what you do expect! None of the dishes disappointed. Came as a group of 5 and everyone loved their food! Drinks were nice and dessert were also nice! Really nice presentation of their dishes! Would recommend to book a table as they were getting busy around 6pm and kitchen opens only at 4pm!

From our four-day stay in Prague, this place was the best dining option. It was delicious, thoughtfully prepared food made with love. The bill was almost the same (a little lower, actually) compared to other restaurants, which was surprising. Two people - 40 eur+tips - are you kidding me? Two meals, starters, and a couple of drinks.
We got a table even though the restaurant was full. The staff is helpful and well mannered. I could be wrong, but it seems like a family-run business.
Wrap up. Definitely recommended. Make a reservation. Other places that charge the same amount for the food must match these guys or be replaced.

It was a very good place where you can eat traditional Czech food and enjoy a beer. Food was very good and the waiter very kind. It was a bit noisy inside but it deserved.

Super tasty. The first Czech cafe, which impressed me with modern twist on national cuisine. Veal shin was outstanding.

It was the second time that my husband and I visited the restaurant and the high quality was the same. Both time the dishes were really great. I saw that they had a burger on the menu and I was curious. Wow! It did not disappoint. For a place that doesn't specialize in burgers, it did a FANTASTIC job. The bun was nice and the pulled meat was superb. The sauce added a nice touch as well. I would highly recommend the burger if you are a local. If you're a tourist, then you should eat their traditional Czech dishes. The only 2 things I would like to mention on improvement would be the bread bags and attention to detail from one of the waiters. I wonder how often or if ever they wash the bread bags, I would prefer the bread of a dish not knowing how clean the bags are. Secondly, the waiter who gave us our bill did not pay attention at all and gave us the wrong bill. I noticed it after my husband paid. The bill was a different table's and a bit more. Other than those 2 things everything was wonderful. I would happily visit again and again.
