Small museum oriented on the era of the second half of the 19th century full of discoveries for instance in Asia, India or Africa. Not for ,,mainstream tourists,, but rather for tourists who really want to dive in very specific topics of the Czech history including two great Czechs - Emil Holub and Vojta Náprstek.

A small cute museum, everybody was very nice and helpful. There are 3 floors with the exhibitions - around the world in 80 days, the faces of war and the last one the culture of Australia and Oceania. It takes about one hour and something to finish. Recommend for kids too.

I am particularly fascinated by their exhibition on the "Faces of War".

As an African, it is beautiful to know that in the heart of Prague you can explore the world of African cultures.

The museum was spread across three floors. The first floor dedicated to honouring Czech women in the days before universal suffrage and female emancipation. The second floor was focused on Egyptology and had fine exhibits including a large collection of mummified animals, although the star of this second was probably the two coffins, one of which mummified remains of a man. There was a lot of English for these two exhibitions.

The third floor was on native Australasian artefacts with stunningly good exhibits on some with separate display cases for different pacific islands, although there was little English. Sadly a bit far from the main tourist circuit and it was very quiet on the day I visited.

Overall, it’s worth visiting if you have an interest in archaeology or anthropology. The exhibits are of a high quality and in the main, plenty of English to keep you interested. It was only the Australasian section that had no English.

Really interesting items. Unfortunately, most of the explanations are in Czech only. The exhibition on the ground floor is really clever organized.

Amazing multiciltural museum with parties and comunities celebrating their heritage on some evenings.
The exhibitions are usually beautiful, and "exotic".

Tourists, this museum is worth your time. It isn't huge but there is a lot to see for this price (adult 120 CZK, discount 80 CZK). Four floors on various topics, items from different cultures. Also fun for school-age children. Three floors have all texts in Czech and English, the fourth one is only in Czech. All the employees are elderly Czech ladies but you will manage basic communication. We read most texts and spent nearly 2 hours here

It's free with the 200 cz ticket from the National Museum. Very friendly stuff. Egyptian exhibits were really interesting, and English signs on everything. Top floor Australian-pasific native people exhibits also interesting but no English signs.
