Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary On Strahov

Very elegant cathedral. I went there during the week, there was no line to get in, but there were some gates closed inside the church offering me just a limited view and access. The surroundings are impressive, offering amazing views over Prague city. I totally recommend coming here.

Access is allowed but, but it was gated and I was only to capture the inside from a far. It looks Great. One I will document farther!

I went to the monastery to see the library and try the beer, when I arrived, it was closed (they open until 17) but the church was open, the monks sang Gregorian chant. I loved it. During the ceremony we do not take pictures so as not to disturb, but later without problems. Everything beautiful, from here there are good views of Prague. Without doubt the best experience in Prague, very inspiring. AND FREE

Church is beautiful and the view at the town from the hill near by is just fantastic!

Peccato averla trovata chiusa dopo aver completato il giro al convento di Strahov. Sono riuscito comunque a scattare delle foto. La facciata esterna non è granché, molto semplice, ma gli interni sono molto belli. Lo stile barocco eccelle alla grande. Bellissimo il soffitto.

Krásný barokní kostel, kde nádherně zní varhany a chrámový zpěv / A beautiful Baroque church where you can enjoy organ music and listen to choir during the mass.

Jedna z nejkrásnějších bazilik v české republice. Jedná se o součást proslulého Strahovského kláštera, založena byla roku 1140 řádem premonstrátů. Jsou zde uloženy ostatky svatého Norberta, v osmnáctém století si na zdejší varhany zahrál sám slavný Mozart.

Mystika. Vůně kadidla. Baroko, doba zbožnosti. Hrob svatého Norberta, zakladatele řádu premonstrátů - jeho ostatky sem byly přeneseny v roce 1627.

Původní klášter v severní Francii s názvem údolí Prémontré, francouzsky Abbaye de Prémontré, latinsky Abbatia Præmonstratensis - založen Svatým Norbertem z Xantenu v roce 1120 de facto v pustině, která patřila klášteru sv. Martina v Laonu. V donační listině je místo nazýváno "Præmonstratus" nebo "pratum monstratum", což by mohlo vycházet z francouzského výrazu pré, znamenajícího louku, v našem případě spíše lesní mýtinu.

Řád premonstrátských řeholních kanovníků (Candidus et Canonicus Ordo Praemonstratensis, zkratka OPraem) je duchovní řád řeholních kanovníků - tedy nikoli mnišský řád.

Recomendable. De estilo barroco, sorprende al acceder por su luminosidad y su belleza. Localizada en la ciudad alta de Praga, todo el entorno merece mucho la pena visitarlo.

Nordöstlich des Gebäudekomplexes fällt unterhalb einer kleinen Aussichtsplattform das Gelände ab und eröffnet einen lohnenswerten Panoramablick über Hradschin, Kleinseite, Altstadt etc.
Die Klosterkirche ist in ihrer Grundarchitektur eine gotische Basilika, an Stelle des Querhauses flankiert von Nord- und Südturm. Ihren letzten durchgreifenden Umbau erfuhr sie in der Barockzeit. Reichhaltige Ausstattung, u.a. Barockorgeln im Chorraum und auf der Westempore, letztere vom ortsansässigen Ordensbruder Oelschlegel bis 1780 zum damals größtem Orgelwerk Böhmens erweitert.

Záleží na tom, jako kdo přicházíte. Jako turista se zařadíte mezi "Great", "Magnifico" a "Wunderbar", ani nebudete vědět jako. Jako místního vás zklamou ceny od knihovny až po pivovar. Ale i tak to stojí (sem tam) za to. A kostel je i přes mříž nádherný. Ideální je zastihnout mši a vystoupení místního chrámového sboru. Prostor povýšen na 4D... ;-)

Na západním pražském horizontu nelze přehlédnout dvě štíhlé věže kostela Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. Ty reprezentují nejen tento svatostánek, ale celý areál premonstrátského kláštera na Strahově, který ve svých počátcích býval větší než areál Pražského hradu. Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie byl původně románskou bazilikou z druhé poloviny 12. století. Později byl několikrát přestavován, v roce 1601 a poté znovu v roce 1627 renesančně. Nynější barokní podobu získal kostel až v druhé polovině 18. století, kdy zároveň došlo i k jeho rozšíření. V kostele jsou pohřbeny (v ebenové rakvi a zlaceném mosazném sarkofágu) ostatky sv. Norberta, zakladatele premonstrátského řádu, převezené do Prahy v roce 1627 z Magdeburku. Světec byl poté zařazen mezi patrony české země.

At the western Prague horizon you can not miss the two slim towers of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. They represent not only this shrine, but the whole area of the Premonstratensian monastery in Strahov, which (in it´s beginnings) was larger than the Prague Castle complex itself! The Church was originally a Romanesque basilica from the second half of the 12th century. Later it was rebuilt several times in 1601 and then again in 1627 in Renaissance style. The present Baroque style was acquired in the second half of the 18th century when it was also expanded. The remains of St. Norbert are buried in the church (in an ebony coffin and a gilded brass sarcophagus). The remains of founder of the Premonstratensian order were transferred to Prague in 1627 from Magdeburg. He was then included among the patrons of the Czech country.

Dentro del recinto del monasterio se pueden distinguir varios edificios, entre ellos, se encuentra la Basílica de la Asunción de la Virgen María, aneja al monasterio de Strahov, fue fundada en 1140 y ampliada y remodelada en diferentes momentos, evolucionando desde el románico a su estado barroco actual.
