This villa is for all lovers of architecture and especially the functionalist one. It is a masterpiece by the famous modernist architect Adolf Loos. The villa is exceptional with its austere architecture and perfectly thought-out interior, which must be seen live. The tours are done in small groups, so it is necessary to buy a ticket in advance. It is ideal to read something about the villa, to know its history and the history of its author before you come. Photography is prohibited.

Excellent guided tour in well kept interiors in an Adolf Loos classic building. Unfortunately indoor pictures are prohibited, which is quite unusual in famous architecture nowadays.

I’ve travelled all the way from Barcelona just to visit some Adolf Loos architecture, and it worth it! This Villa is an incredible exercice of layout composition, one of a kind. Our guide (Yann I can recall) was really good at explaining for archis and non archis the virtues of the design, he seemed really moved by it. As other comments say, be sure to book your tickets in advance. The groups are luckly really small and tickets get sold out quickly.
The only point I didn’t like was that taking pictures inside is forbiden; I’ve been to several top houses like Ville Savoye in Paris, Robin house in Chicago, Stahl house in LA… and I was always allowed to take my own pictures, of course respecting the timings of the tour and in the moments when the guide said we could. It’s a little bit rude in my opinion to force people to buy your own books in order to have memories of all the details and corners of this amazing design; it’s an old fashioned decision at least.

Was there at an English tour that lasted one hour. The guide was very polite and the house was in a marvelous condition with many original fittings. You might need to enjoy or have read more about the history regarding the house to enjoy it at its fullest. As a architecture student I was really fascinated. You where not allowed to take pictures inside the villa.

You can only visit with a guided tour and have to buy tickets in advance as spots are limited. The tour is great: engaging, interesting, knowledgeable guide. The Villa is absolutely gorgeous and you will learn many cool facts about its specifics and its inhabitants.

An amazingly restored villa bei Viennese architect Adolf Loos. The guiding lady was just amazing and gave an excellent tour through the whole house. Check in at the neighbouring entrance building to start the tour. Booking in advance is required.

If you want to experience one of the most influential villas of Modernizm then this is the place to go. The awesome guide took us around in all the spaces that are possible to experience, with great and concise descriptions.

Architectural comments have been said in other reviews other than to say well worth the visit for architects, artists, interior designers etc. Practicalities are you need to book, you can't just turn up and wander in. It's only open on certain days although open on Saturdays and Sundays. All visits are guided tours (about 90 mins) and small groups of seven hence quickly booked up. We had no choice but to take tour in Czech even though five of us spoke English. There are English tours available but times didn't suit. A 1 or 2 tram takes you to a stop beside the villa. In any event highly recommended.

Everyone a bit interested in architecture probably knows Vila Tugendhat in Brno as it's part of UNESCO world heritage. Here you'll find more authenticity and family vibe and less glamour and generous space compared to her sister.

I have been in love with this place ever since I saw a short movie about it nearly two decades ago. Visiting it felt like a dream come true. Such a beautifully thought through space. Unique, practical and pretty. Definitely recommend to visit if get the chance.

Excellent lady guide, tours at 11am and 3pm also in English. Not only for architects or architecture junkies - this villa represents the genius loci of 1930s.

Fascinating insight in to the architecture and the people behind it. First class guide who gave a very interesting and informative tour, answering all questions posed to her. The documentary afterwards was great for seeing how the villa was before the restorations and worth watching. I would highly recommend this when in Prague, make sure to book in advance.

I was stunned entering the main living room during our guided tour. Great architecture, super inspiring detailed furniture pieces and a very good tour guide who had a suitable answer for all our questions. Highly recommended, if you're interested in art, interiors and architecture.

MUST GO! One of the major works of Adolf Loos, that everyone interested in art or architecture had studied. Looking quite normal from the outside, but the inside is amazing. All the rooms with different levels, visual connections, spaces designed for that use and an the roof with greats views of Prague like a painting.
Reserve several weeks before visiting the city otherwise you will miss that visit.

The building looks like a strange alien revelation in the surrounding buildings. I got off a little earlier at the Ořechovka tram stop (directly under the house) so that I could see it at least from the outside. An interesting functionalist villa was built for the director of the construction company Müller and Kapsa František Müller and his wife Milada by the architects Adolf Loose and Karel Lhota between 1928–1930, when Ludwig Mies van der Rohe built the Tugendhat villa in Brno. The space is not divided into individual floors, but into rooms of different heights and sizes according to its purpose. Unfortunately, I visited the building at the time of the coronavirus insane, so it was closed, but I will definitely come inside as soon as possible. The villa is managed by the Museum of the Capital City of Prague and tickets can be purchased in the neighboring building.

Only guided tours, but for someone interested in architecture or interior design, it is one of the best examples of A.Loos and raumplan.

Fantastic and creative space for architects and designers, that are looking for inspiration. Rather interesting excursion and I wish I had taken photos inside the house, but it was forbidden.

Excellently maintained historic modern house. Toured once in 2001 and again in november 2016.
Make reservations well in advance, and early in the day. After sunset the interiors are very dark.
