Café El Escorial

Sadly they don’t make their own coffee anymore. Now they serve Lavazza. It was delicious, but was hoping to try their blend. You can see the machines and everything still there. I’m hoping next time I visit I get to try it. All the staff is amazing. And the views are great.

The 16th-century Plaza Vieja has always been a residential rather than a military, religious or administrative space, and is surrounded by elegant colonial residences, combined with a few very striking early 20th-century art nouveau buildings. However, restoration is gradually re-establishing Plaza Vieja’s original atmosphere; the Carrara showpiece fountain at the center of the square and many of the 18th-century residences around the square are now restored with housing on the top floors and commercial establishments. One of them is Cafe el Escorial, perfect place for exultant coffee and wonderful atmosphere!

Really nice cafe on a beautiful square in Havana. The coffee tasted really good and sitting on the patio in the shade people watching the square on a hot Havana day was a highlight of my trip.

Do not leave Havana without bringing a bag of freshly roasted coffee beans, you will thank me later! Best coffee in Havana!

Best Place to drink good coffee for 100 CUP

Good place for strong coffee and a snack. The ham and cheese sandwich is served on toasted bread and is very good. You can also buy bags of their coffee at a reasonable price however come here early because the bags sell out.
Don't come here if you're in a rush. This place is very busy and the waiters can get overwhelmed. The coffee is worth the wait!

That small cafe was amazing, we very much liked the coffee cocktails ,I would say it was a unique place to visit to Havana. Would go visit again definitely.
There was a thing in toilets (not sure what )but we paid extra which was weird but ok.

Picked up some coffee beans here (500g) on the recommendation of our guide. When I got back home to the states and made an espresso with them I could not believe the flavor, and now I kick myself for not buying 5kg. Most espressos are not well prepared at the Cafes in Cuba (overextracted or too hot), thus the habit of preparing with sugar. Definitely buy your coffee here to take home (bring some large Ziplock bags to double bag it).

Great coffee. They also sell beans. 250g for 3.5cuc. It’s good for souvenier. But if you want to buy coffee beans, go there in the morning. It’ll sold out quickly.

Super coffe,nice view to plaza,very relaxing place

One of my favorite places to drink a great coffee and take some snack and enjoy the beautiful views of the square. Doves and saltimbanquis with a mix of cuban music

The coffee beans for takeout are much better then brewed coffee in the store. Still ,worth a visit
