A wonderful restaurant, very pleasant and at the same time cheerful Cuban atmosphere. Excellent food, all employees very kind, patient, smiling and nice! The owner is extremely pleasant and all the praise and congratulations for the idea of ​​turning the family house into a restaurant with a soul. My recommendation is to definitely visit them! The most beautiful restaurant we visited in Havana, the food was spectacular - I normally don’t eat desserts but their coconut flan was the best thing I ever tried. The owner and his wife came out to greet every single table and they are a lovely couple.

The best restaurant we went to during our two weeks in Cuba. We ended up going three times, including going for New Years Eve dinner with a four course set menu. The owner and his staff are incredibly hospitable and take the time to speak with each guest and share his story and recommendations. As a fisherman himself, he partners with local fishers getting the freshest seafood, as well as other local produce and meat. This is certainly the best restaurant we ate at in Cuba highlighting fresh seafood and Cuban flavors. We highly recommend to any one looking for great food at a great price. Reservations are certainly recommended, as they were always full when we visited.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant based on the Google reviews. It did not disappoint although I recommend you take CUP currency because the Canadian exchange we were quoted was to multiply the USD menu price by 300 then divide by 190.
So I think you can get better exchange rates elsewhere and then take CUP currency in when the rate does not benefit foreign currency.
we were very hungry, so I had the corn Tamale soup with bacon and creole tender pork-it was delicious and one of the better soups I’ve ever tasted in my life never mind just Cuba. I also had the 100 gram octopus -also delicious. We shared the ham croquettes /came in 4 pieces) delicious. My boyfriend had the argentine beef carpaccio which he said was excellent.
My main dish was the paradise ribs, slow cooked in red wine. I could really taste the red wine and barbecue sauce. So only order if you like the taste of red wine and barbecue sauce on your ribs. I also ordered the sautéed vegetables and the potatoes which we’re both decent. My boyfriend ordered the risotto with tenderloin beef and he said it was very good.
For dessert I had the brownie, and he had the Crème brûlée(pumpkin). I personally thought the brownies and ice cream was OK, neither one of us are big brownies people, so it was OK also have vanilla ice cream on top of the brownie and on the crème brûlée. Total bill in Canadian was $135 for everything we just told you. The bill automatically includes gratuity.
Would recommend the place and the owner yamil was amazing to talk to you. If you get a chance talk to him about the restoration process from an old dilapidated building to the beautiful restaurant it is today. Would recommend this romantic restaurant, but it is a little pricey, but the food is on the higher end.quality. So worth it

One of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to!! It’s in Old Havana, a short walk from Plaza Vieja. Our drinks were fabulous (margarita and sangria) and meals fantastic. The pumpkin crème brûlée amazing! Service from our waiter Ernesto was great and owner Jamil made sure we were happy with everything. Jamil gets food ingredients from over 40 local families. GO THERE!!

One of the better restaurants in Cuba. Great experience and great food plus live music which really makes the evening that much better. If you can get the table on the balcony that is another bonus to the evening.

This restaurant is amazing! Service super friendly, patient and welcoming. The food, oh my goodness!! You'll feal like in heaven. The atmosphere is very cozy and it's a perfect place to stay for a bit longer and enjoy some live music and some great drinks or cocktails.
We come definitly again, we loved it!

Beautiful, eclectic restaurant perfectly situated in Old Havana. Definitely has a chef curated menu. The ropa vieja on pasta was one of the best meals I have ever had in Cuba! The quality and cleanliness cannot be outdone. The prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for, including old Cuba ambiance. The all male staff seems to have perked up in their attitude and friendliness since the last time we were here. The band playing today was great! They have free Wi-Fi and a very competitive exchange rate for euros and dollars. Not an outrageously expensive tourist trap like you would see at a place like La Vitrola around the corner and across the Plaza. Next time we come to Los Mercaderes, we are bringing friends!

This is an amazing restaurant in Havana. The place is very nice, well located in the old city and the service and the food are top notch. All the dishes we tried were delicious and the staff very professional.
We had spaghetti with shrimps and grilled lobster, were fantastic.
It is highly recommended for the good food lovers. Book a table in advance because is very busy.

Great food and amazing music! Rolando our waiter was great and his service was excellent ! The restaurant used to be a home and the owner Yamil stopped by our table and shared the history of the location and how it become a restaurant. Great spot to check out. I recommend trying the Canchanchara with Santiago Rum, you’ll love it.

A fantastic “find” down in Old Havana. Everyone from the door person to the wait staff - and even the chef - made a point of greeting us. Very friendly team. We accepted the recommendation of the day which was a seafood platter for two and it did not disappoint. Very fresh lobster, fish, shrimp etc. after a few early disappointments in Havana this place has restored my optimism for the days ahead.

Best restaurant in Havana for food, service, and ambience. They also give a very fair exchange rate whether you’re paying in pesos or dollars/euros, which is not the case in many establishments.

Excellent dinner! Beautiful restaurant, the waiters are super friendly, create empathy and make great recommendations. It has very nice live music. The prices are a little higher than in Cuban restaurants, but for European people it's ok. The food was worth all the money. Really Really Really tasty! I recommend 200% super nice.

Octopus was extraordinary, best we ever had, and we tried many all around the world.
Service is quite special too, impeccable to say the least.

This is one of the best dining experiences we had in Havana. The ambiance is immaculate - the gorgeous old 20s style architecture and whimsical decor were delightful. Our food and drinks were excellent and the live band was perfect. The owner introduced himself to us while we were dining and chatted with us about his family and business. We felt welcome and were well fed!

We loved Los Mercaderes so much that we returned the next day. The decorations were beautiful. The ambience was very chill with the live music. The food, the mango daiquiri, the pumpkin custard and flan tasted great. Not to mention, they were very responsive to Instagram message and email regarding reservations.

Possibly the most beautiful restaurant I've ever eaten at. Soaring high ceilings, interesting artwork on the walls, lovely tables and chairs and furniture, interesting mirrors in frames, an exquisite carved Bavarian (?) clock on one wall. The waiters looked great in their all-black attire. Also, the food was tasty. I loved my eggplant Parmesan. My husband's whitefish in tomato sauce À la Hemingway was also good.

The best restaurant I tried in Havana! The food is amazing, well put together and unique. Portions can be on smaller side but still worth it. Friendly staff and live music.

Wonderful service, delicious food. I had the mushroom toast which was amazing. I would recommend the flan dessert as well!
