John Lennon has never been to Cuba. But that is the fun of Cuba. Across the street is a little Paladara the French Onion. Worth the stop.

I'm his and Beatles fan, a week ago before Havana I visited Strawberry Fields in NYC, Imagine mosaic and glimpsed at Dakota building. So being here I couldn't let this statue pass by me. The image, likeness to real J.L. is unbelievable ! Congrats to the artist. PS The funny thing is that it started to rain for the first time since I came here. Becausee of that the words to imagine - on the pavement tile in front of the bench - are not visible due to reflection in the puddle. PS I also included photo of John's ORIGINAL rim glasses from Hard Rock cafe near Yankee Stadium. Find it here on G Maps.

Oh du schönes Havanna! Viel zu lange ist es her. Man sollte mal wieder eine Reise unternehmen. Das Foto ist schon ein paar jahre alt. Doch ein Freund, der im vergangenen Jahr "John" besucht hat, meinte ich sollte es dennoch mit reinstellen. so bleibt es unvergessen! Logiert habe ich damals bei Betty und Raul in Matanzas. Es war eine sehr, sehr schöne Zeit bei ganz tollen Gastgebern !!!

Красивый памятник. Место для фотографирования с кумиром миллионов людей. Есть специальный пожилой дядечка - "хранитель очков", который подходит к скульптуре при появлении туристов, надевает Леннону очки и таким образом зарабатывает чаевые.
Объясняется это (гидами) банальной историей про кражу очков и необходимостью их сохранения. :-)
