Green Center Organic Super Market

Loved going to this organic grocery store. They had such a huge selection of different items and I really love the ice cream selection. The staff here were very nice and it was a very super clean super inviting grocery store. Would definitely come back here again, and it made the trip so memorable to find organic food and organic chocolate.

The new location in Escazu is epic! Great selection of organic products. Health food stores like the Green Center help support organic farming which leads to a healthier environment for everyone. Sure, it's more expensive but your well-being is worth it. The GC carries Mama Toucan's natural vegan ice cream!

Honestly thank god for this place. There are no other organic markets around. Currently pregnant and have been able to get most of my goods from here. Wish the prices were better but it is what it is. They’re the only gig in town.

Incredible little shop that carries incredibly well priced and high quality foods and goods. The ladies working there are friendly and the store is clean. We were so happy to find many familiar items and score some organic wine. Love this little shop!

While living in the way southern zona sur of CR at the beach is INCREDIBLE, it is virtually impossible to get the things a happy health conscious individual needs. I’m so happy to return to the market ( after the pandemic) to find my organic mung beans, beautiful essential oils, local farmed goods- & way, way more. My dear, beautiful friend lives only one km from the store, though she had never visited this market. We had fun while we stocked up on amazing smelling things and chocolates and just had a lovely time shopping. For me, it’s important & I like to support the smaller businesses & the slightly higher price is insignificant.

Health food shopping is my jam, and the green center is one of the best hits in the country. Lots a food
options for any diet and tons of great personal care products.

A gem! This is where I get delicious raw milk here. Note on how the milk system works: when you buy a glass container of milk, you pay a fee for the container separate from the milk. When you bring it back and purchase a new container, that fee is waved (counts as glass bottle exchange). The 10% discount is only for other non-milk dairy products from that dairy (las lapas).

(Unfortunate when you show up and don't have bottles with you, really should be a buy-back system, but it's better than nothing.)

You get what you pay for. Is it easier and cheaper to buy product at a roadside stand? Yes. But is the quality worth driving out of your way and paying slightly more? Big yes.

Costa Rica uses the most amount of agrochemicals per hectare in the entire world, aaaaand the govt has a 14% tax on organic food. Do what you will that knowledge, but i appreciate being able to find decent priced staples and some other "fun" purchases here in all ways. Especially glad for their pasture raised meats, grass fed beef tallow, non-seed oils, organic wines, and natural health products like deodorant/toothpaste etc.

I've seen both extranjeros and ticos shopping here, which fortifies the experience.

People are friendly and super helpful. Very pricey but worth it. So glad they carry all the important farms’ products, regenerative farming, grass fed, etc.

Just love this place! I never visit Escazu without stocking up here.

The largest organic supply store in Costa Rica. Not a Whole Foods but you can find the essentials such as organic oils, nuts and seeds, grains, gluten free flours, whole grain rice, and pure Himalayan salt (not all himalayan salts sold here are pure, many have additives to enhance flavors)

Excellent grocery store and our number one to go when in San Jose. Many international products and great variety.

If you are looking for noon GMO, organic everything this is your place. Helpful staff with fair prices for the high quality products

Not the cheapest place, but still a good und reliable Source for all your organic groceries with a broad selection for vegetarians und even vegans.
