Bike Craft Costa Rica

Had a great ride with Jonathan and group of girlfriends through single track XC. Bikes were high end and well-maintained. Instruction was just right for our level of riding experience. He showed us animals and gave tons of recommendations for local activities and eats. So great I came back with hubby a week later. Excellent lattes too!

Taking a bike tour with Bike Craft was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Our guide and accomplished rider, Fabio, adapted the route in real-time to provide us with just the right level of thrill for our skill level while showing us some spectacular sights and teaching us a bit about the local flora and fauna. It was recommended that we opt for e-bikes which was absolutely the right call as it allowed us to keep the riding fast and fun, covering more ground without overexerting ourselves in the heat. The store itself is beautiful and stocked with the highest quality bikes and gear. Jonathan and staff are a wealth of knowledge on all things mountain biking related and more. Highly recommend a visit!

Great bike shop and trails … even better staff. Jon and his team were awesome. They were friendly, knowledgeable and recommended trails that were perfect for us. After talking for a while I liked Jon so much I invited him to come ride with us in Steamboat.

We rented e-bikes and did a guided tour with Bike Craft. Their communication was fantastic and they were accommodating when we needed to pivot to a different morning due to rainy conditions.

We rode with Juan Carlos and he was a cheerful, fun, and kind guide. He helped work out a few minor issues with the bike and offered me his gloves when my hands got sweaty (gosh it’s hot in Costa Rica). Their bikes are all top notch. The trail network is varied and has lots for any level rider.

If you love mountain bikes, it’s absolutely a place you need to go while in Costa Rica.

Awesome bike rental selection and even better service! Juan Carlo and Jonathan were extremely helpful in choosing bikes and paths (SO many killer trails!!) - and they gave me credit to ride another day after my son experienced a non-critical medical situation (was not prepared for the humidity/heat! : ) .

Jonathon and his team were awesome. Offered a great 2 hour tour through local trails right from the shop - he even found us monkeys. The bikes were well maintained and of great quality. We would for sure return.and recommend to our friends.

Jonathan was an amazing guide through some really nice single track and beach trails. We also got to see some monkeys and had the best coffee to top off the two hour adventure. I would highly recommend!!

Really great shop in an area of great trails run by a great guy. I'm from Washington state where mtb is king - a million trails of all types. So in Costa Rica I looked on trailforks and found hacienda pinilla and Bike Craft. Called up and got a 2 hour tour with Jonathan the next day. Great bikes - they rent Transition and other brands. Jonathan is a downhill fiend, so took me on a bunch of climbs and downhills. I'll admit I got gassed, maybe the 90 degree weather - bring ur hydration pack. Had such a good time, came back the next week with my son and riding partner and Jonathan a) made everyone espressos and b) took us on a completely different set of trails. Regardless of your skill level, this region and this guide have whatever you're looking for. And they have cool jerseys, made in Bellingham WA too.

Jonathan offers the best mountain bike experience in Costa Rica. Nice trails and great wildlife!

Great owner, friendly service, excellent guide! Took 2 flatlanders through manageable, well made trails. Highly recommend if you are looking for a ride when in Costa Rica.

I rented a bike for a day and a half. The first afternoon was great! Nice single track through the jungle. I found the jungle got a little louder once you stop for a bit. It downpoured and I went out the next morning. Some trails were decent but others were too muddy. I ended up doing some nice rides around the neighborhood. The bike ran amazingly both on and off trail.

This is the place to go for MTB!! The bikes are excellent! We rented demo bikes (full suspension) which is a must. The trails aren’t for beginners, it was still quite strenuous even though I am an avid cyclist (mainly road). Highly suggest taking a guide, Alvaro is amazing. The trail system is a bit tough to navigate even with the app. I also would not want to go on a wet day.

Thank you Jonathan for the super fun mountain bike tour in Hacienda Pinilla! You are a excellent and informative guide that kept the perfect flow on some very entertaining terrain. I'm looking forward to riding the rest of the trails in the Community.

Awesome experience. Jon went out of his way to come pick my son and me up for a personal guided ride. Super fun single track, good bike talk and a beautiful day. Got to try out an e-bike too!

My first time to CR and I pick the wettest month to ride in, but it couldn't be helped. Jonathan was so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to have a good ride. Too bad I missed the trail entrance, so while I unfortunately got to experience riding in mud like I never have before, and while on an ebike for the first time, everything about Bike Craft and Jonathan was top notch!

Jonathan has done a great job designing and building the trail network in Hacienda Pinella! This is a legit riding experience with technical single-track, punchy climbs, drops and jump lines. His rental fleet is modern and well maintained. Plus he's a super cool guy to chat with. If you're staying in the Tamarindo area check it out.

Bikes were high end and in great condition
Johnathan asked the right questions to pick the perfect trails for my ability. I am an experienced rider as was not disappointed at all . It definitely wasn't just some lame fire road . The trail had tough climbs as well as fast down hill burms through tight single track surrounded by jungle on both sides.
It also had amazing views of the ocean as well.
Great for pictures . I would have paid double

My brother and I had an awesome afternoon on the singletrack with Jonathan. Great guy, the rental bikes are quality, and the MTB trails are loads of fun

Can’t recommend it enough to others!

Jonathan was the best, service was top notch. My wife rented an e-bike and he did an excellent job explaining it to her right down to jogging next to her to make sure she was comfortable. I had an issue with my bike and he ran out a replacement with in minutes. Our group of 10 could not of been treated any better
