Best hotel in the country! The food was great. The area around the hotel was beautiful (you will have to drive on gravel roads). The room was clean. The host Geraldina was a very nice woman. Loved it!

Perfect place to stay two or more nights while exploring the nearby national park or the area in general. Friendly and welcoming family. Good food with special requirements being catered for. Quiet at night. Bonus: slightly discounted access to a private swimming place in the river celeste.

I had a wonderful blissful time staying here with my mom. The family who runs La Amistad are caring, fun-spirited, fabulous cooks, and have great attention to detail. For those who are physically able, there is a nearby path through the rainforest that takes you to the most beautiful little swimming hole with water the color of a clear blue sky. For those looking for more accessible adventure, I highly recommend a night walk through the back gardens where all kinds of frogs live and sing in abundance. Just make sure to bring a flashlight! The rooms are perfect little retreats from the world with comfy beds, big showers, and even internet - though the internet is stronger in the main sitting area with the restaurant. Every meal I ate was delicious but my hands-down favorite was arroz con camarones (rice with shrimp.) If you’re coming to visit the beautiful Rio Celeste, you must stay here. Ask about Francini :)

Beautiful property, we were able to find lots of critters at night. The river you can hike to from there is super cool and provides an afternoon activity for after the National park.

They also have an awesome insane parrot. I love it, I want it

Fantastic facility. Very good location in walking distance from entrance to the national park. Helpful staff, good restaurant and nice accommodations. Everything was for reasonable price. Posada offers also a nice hiking trail to the Celeste river outside the park. You can see sloths, swing on Tarzan liana and enjoy swimming in pristine waters of the Rio Celeste. During your breakfast you can observe birds in the garden.

Great place. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Service is excellent. Thanks to the duena to have received us late at night and took care of us. We also had fun with the parrot bird in the morning.

Cute room, kilometer hike to Rio Celeste for swimming and Tarzan swing(it's so much more fun than it sounds, it is a swing over the canopy, no getting wet). Also eat at the restaurant, delicious.

This place was truly a piece of heaven! Rio Celeste is already a very special place, off the beaten track and blessed with a milky blue river and clouds that touch the ground. The posada was such a peaceful and beautiful place from which to explore the area. The staff was incredible welcoming and treated us and especially our children like family. The hotel is a farm to table family hotel that is one of the original in the area. The hotel rooms are comfortable and cool with bright colors and mosquito nets. There are beautiful gardens on the hotel grounds with fruit trees, herb and vegetable gardens, flowers and a stream. The included breakfast was huge and delicious and the other meals we had were also large and very fresh made with food from the family garden. There were two pet parrots that were bilingual and fun to watch. Our children loved exploring the grounds and we loved listening to the sounds of nature and watch the clouds roll over us. It is very close to Rio Celeste and the family owns a private trail through the jungle to a place where you can swim in the river. We had a wonderful time in this magical place. It was one of our favorite places in Costa Rica.

Very special stay here :) it's hosted by a very Kindle family. The room has his charme. Don't expect a lot for 2* hotel. We had a very great time here. Very helpful. The entry to the Rio Celeste national park is very close, like 10min walking.

The place was extremely clean and with a nice scenery. Everything was detail oriented and the tables organized. The food came out fast and it was tasty. They did their best and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my food since I am Celiac and Vegan and they did an amazing job!!!!

Nice place to stay the night while visiting Tenorio Volcano National Park (Rio Celeste).
Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant.
On your visit to Rio Celeste, you can't miss the butterfly farm called: "Mariposario Rio Celeste" it's a great project they have right there!!

La Posada Rio Celeste was nothing short of perfect. This was a very unique experience for my Canadian friends and I.. The hotel is family run and has a very authentic charm to it. I want to extend a big thank-you to Elias as he made our experience so great with his kindness. Additionally, my friends and I agreed we had the best dinner of our entire trip at this hotel. Thumbs up 👍🏽 thank you, thank you!!

Family owned and even though a bit remote, it’s very safe and one of the best cabins we stay at. Rio celeste is walking distance.

we were there camping - not to much space on the actual camping site for a lot of people but as we were there on our own with a 4x4 it was perfect. the family who own it is super nice and the facilities clean. great place to stay next to rio celeste

Truly amazing stay here at this family owned and operated resort. The family is unbelievably warm, kind and welcoming. The surrounding area is BEAUTIFUL. Food is made with love and quality ingredients, mostly casados/arroz with chicken/beef/fish but def one of the best meals we had during our 2 week stay. It's a very short drive from rio Celeste and the volcano national park.

Meal times have roughly set hours- be sure to ask. At night they close the gate and turn off any unused lights, keep this in mind- but not an issue for us because it was such a beautiful stay and we never have woken up more refreshed

If you want to see the real Costa Rica come here for two nights. It is out of the way but very worth the trip. You can also walk to a nearby entrance to Rió Celeste where there are no crowds and you are the only ones swimming in the river .The crew is amazing here and make incredible typical Costa Rican food .Masseuse was amazing .Rooms adorable, clean and rustic. They have wifi and TV's but who really wants them with the gorgeous views around .
