Beautiful waterfall. You won’t see many animals on the walk to the waterfall but the falls are beautiful with a stunning blue color. It’s 252 steps down and then back up again. Not hard but steps are different elevations so take your time.

The day before and the day we went was raining so the catarata wasn't celeste color, but still it was a nice experience to see it and to do the hikes. My kids and I loved to go there. We are planning and going back when we travel again to Costa Rica 🇨🇷
It it was an easy walk, but the stairs wow a lot of steps.
I do recommend that if you had ths chance to go see this beautiful nature 🇨🇷 Pura Vida

*+*+WARNING*+*+ ABSOLUTELY BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE TOOK 1 HOUR BECAUSE INTERNET AT OFFICE IS SO SLOW AND OVERLOADED!!!
Now the review. What a beautiful place!! We are here in low season so not many people and it's great. We hired a local guide Anthony +506 5003 7781 on Whatsapp, if possible please use the local small tour guide vs the larger tour busses. Anthony pointed out snakes, lizards bugs and other things we saw others walk right past, we would have also. Take lots of water and maybe a snack, it's not a hard hike but the humidity will get to you more than you think. Afterward Anthony took us to a local soda we had lunch and then he guided us to a place to swim in the amazing blue water we were the only people and no charge for parking. What an amazing day.

The trails are large which means you're not bumping into people all around, like in other hikes. The difficulty of the walk is medium, although the stairs to the waterfall are very steep.
I didn't go to the overlook because it was a cloudy day, but just the waterfall and the walk through the woods were worth it.

It’s a rainforest so bring a poncho. I bought one there for $4 US. Shoes will get wet, but it is an amazing rainforest experience. Our guide, Brian, found multiple small venemous snakes that other tourists walked right past and had no idea. He was well worth the $20 per person fee. Highly recommend the entire experience.

Very pretty falls, with a dramatic first view from above. The trail to the falls is well maintained with concrete or hard-packed gravel surface in all but a few places. The 350 steps down to the plunge pool are steep but secure, with good grip, a rock solid railing, and landings every 50 steps or so. I took the stairs to the bottom, but in my opinion the view is not that much better if the stairs concern you.

There are opportunities to see many interesting plants, birds, and other animals along the way.

There was pretty constant tourist traffic on the trail and stairs, as might be expected, but it was definitely worth it!

Must see place. Views are amazing as you climb down the steps after a 1.5 km hike. Overall took about 30 mins to get to the waterfall. Photos don’t do it justice. Would highly recommend.

Super nice waterfalls... Just unbelievable. It appears that they are impossible, but nature has many surprises. This is definitely one of them. The sky is blue color of the water in the lush green backdrop of the rain forest is just nature's way of showing off. Don't miss this at any cost

There are free bathrooms just inside after you pay admissions! We paid 500 colones to use a bathroom right next to the parking lot 😅. As for the actual waterfall - Unbelievably beautiful. It took us about 3 hours to comfortably hike all the way to the waterfall, then to the lagoon, then back to the entrance. We also saw a tiny 3 inch snake and a pizote on the trail!

Breathtaking waterfall within Tenorio National Park, Costa Rica! Must see! Leisure walking path, no waiting, there are 253 stairs at an easy walking depth but highly worth the visit!

2 hours and over 200 stairs but amazing. Something not to miss but wear sneakers. You can not swim but a great view. There are bathrooms and vendors before you go down

Would recommend going here. Nice place and great hike.
Went early as possible to be in front of the crowd, worked out really good.

Recommend to do the trailhike after the waterfall as well. I reckon it was worth it.

They don't accept cash at the ticketdesk.

Wonderful hiking and great views! You will want to have a good pair of boots that can handle several inches of mud if you wish to experience the full trail. The turquoise water of the river and waterfalls is amazing, however prepare yourself for the strong smell of sulfur. If you enjoy hiking, aren't afraid of a little mud and are looking for some picturesque scenery, this place is for you.

The original blue lagoon. A hike to see Rio Celeste is worth the effort, please note that there are approx. 250 steps down and back up once you reach this Insta worthy waterfall, a unique and rewarding experience! But don't stop there! Continue into the park for other scenic spots until you reach the end to witness the actual spot where the clear waters turn sky blue....amazing

This was a cool hike! It's a little longer than we had thought, can't remember so look it up on Google. Really pretty and a few different lookout spots along the way where you can see what waterfall, the spot where the clear water meets the blue water. It's a little off the beaten path, so we came here on our way back from La Fortuna to Liberia the day before we flew back home.

Amazing waterfall with the most incredible blue water. The walk down and back up is a little tiring, bring water and stay hydrated

A must visit when in Costa Rica! Go early to beat the crowd. No guide needed as trail is well signed. You can easily park your car and car park is safe. No plastic allowed inside park.
