It's a nice historical place where you can stop to take some breath while strolling by the city. The National Museum and the Museum of Jade are located at the same square.
From there you can go to Parque Nacional or Teatro Nacional in less than 10 minutes walk.

A good place to come in the afternoons and enjoy the nice breeze. It's also closed by the National Museum of Costa Rica.

The complimentary breakfast is NOT a continental breakfast! You can get omelets made to order, plantains, rice and beans, sausage, bacon/ham, an array of breads, banana pancakes, fruit, cheese, mimosas. I am sure I am missing something. It is awesome!

This is a historic place in San Jose downtown. It was the last army facility in Costa Rica before army abolition. Is like a big square where you can find handcrafts, a nice view, public benches and kids running around.

Many years without visiting this place. It has nice adaptations for handicapped persons. Love this place that speaks to its visitors with so many historical and cultural items.

The history of San Jose is very cool. As a country they accomplished so much without violence. And they continue to do so.

There's plenty of sitting space, some in the shade some in the sun, it's pretty and there's two museums just crossing the street.

Important historical site..If you visit this area just do not go flashing money and avoid giving money to beggars around there ..Common sense has to be used..

One of many leafy parks in the capital city representing an often missing aspect of self government in authoritarian regional regimes.
