This is one of my favorites park in San José. It's really clean and peaceful. There are different plants that make it even better.😍
you have the train station nearby, about 1-2 minutes walking. There's a university (UIA) nearby, as well. TSE, next to it basically. It got different statues of people who were important. Finally, this is a really nice place to take pictures.

For 31 days I had seen a new type of bird every single day on my Costa Rica trip. I had 1 hour left before having to leave for the airport and I thought I'd try one park to find one bird that was new. Though this park is small and busy, if you look up you'll see many little birds flying around having fun. I found my final new bird here and I couldn't have been happier flying home. There's also a cafe called Otoya that is around the corner that has the best coffee in town. Go here and rest my friend, you deserve it.

So pretty! Nice small hike. So many different animals and creatures. The Cafe place in the middle is smartly gated to keep the monkeys from stealing!

I haven't been to this park in a long time and was pleasantly surpiesed. Plenty of green, fountains and the iconic "Monumento Nacional". A nice place for a downtown break.

When you need a peaceful, green pause in the midst of San Jose, this park is beautiful. There are many little places to sit and be still. It was very empty when we were there. The big trees and beds of flowers were a wcone break from ultra urban.

Nice park. Police like mad searching Young folks just hanging out though. Lovely Peruvian Guy selling jewellery. Chill if it wasn't for the 50 bugging the kids.

Good trails/paths, all with concrete. A lot of squirrels along the path. If you aren't lucky enough to watch the crater just be patient, sometimes there are holes in the fog that allows you to see the crater for a few minutes, sometimes seconds. My advice, go first to the lagoon, if the lagoon is clear you need to get back to the main crater because, in a couple of minutes, the crater will be clear (if there is wind). You can pay admission using credit card, but parking lot just using cash. Bring your camera!

One of the most beautiful beaches in Central America. Full of amazing wildlife - definitely get a guide so you can spot it all.

Tradicional Park with historical markers in the heart of downtown San José. Probably best to avoid this place after dark, not for the danger per say, but for the fact that it turns into a pick-up place for, we'll, let's just say, lonely people. Otherwise, during the day, it's a great place and safe, even for children. This park is also the place where many celebrations and fairs take place. It is also a standard stop for all tourists.

Short walk from the National Theatre. It was quiet here on Saturday, a number of interesting sculptures. Great place to sit on a bench and read.
