Selina San José

I love this hostel in San Jose and the best part are the free 10 minute massages. Oscar is amazing and I immediately booked a full massage for the next day. Oscar has such a beautiful energy and is an amazing masseuse! I highly recommend. As I wrote this I am completely blissed out.

Selina is a wonderful place to stay! The staff was really kind and helpful. I was here for one night with two kids. We had the family room which was very spacious, clean and the kids really loved the beds! I also had a massage by Oscar which they offer at Selina's. It was one of the best massages I ever had!!! So when you stay at Selina make sure to book some time with Oscar, it will make you feel brand new again :-)

Loved our time here. Great shared space and bar/restaurant vibes, good location to city center, very clean and professional. The staff is lovely, fun and friendly. Oscar the massage therapist on site is super worth a visit as well, gives a great bodywork session to meet the clients needs! couldn’t recommend this spot more

The hotel was great, and the staff is always willing to help. The room was spacious and clean, and the common areas offer many different spaces to work. The evening yoga class with Steven was amazing, it was very calming and it helped me relax after a long day! Gracias!

Had a great time staying at this lovely, people oriented hostel! Great vibes all around and a chance to meet and hold interesting conversations with travelers from all over the world. Would highly recommend to anybody staying in San Jose for any duration of time. The staff was very personable and chill…especially Bale 😉

I have stayed at a few Selina’s and their service has always been phenomenal!! Especially Bale, she was so chipper and helpful and made my friends and I feel very welcome💗💗 I feel like I can go to her for anything!

I love this hostel! Great hospitality, great bar, the rooms are very clean, and breakfast is on point. Highly recommend this place. They also offer transportation to other Selina locations such as a visitor I really appreciate.

Such an amazing, welcoming environment! They had a welcome event to meet other travelers, and since it was my birthday, everyone sang happy birthday and they gave me a treat!

Really nice and spotless please. The hostel is so nice and so near from everything. Its the second Selina I had been in and they're lovely. Hilary and Vale are so nice and friendly to everyone, I really loved the stay.

Very nice hostel. Cool place to meet new people. There is a bar and restaurant as well as a kitchen. Note to management: please provide stamps that guests can purchase for post cards — this would be very helpful.

Amazing hostel experience, with free welcome drink, free yoga, cooking and 10 min massage, good internet connection and amazing service!! Gonna check out the other Selina’s now as well, thanks for the great stay and safe his very special hostel experience. Only food and drinks are a bit pricey, but I think they are in general in Costa Rica. First day here and still discovering :)

Third time staying here in as many weeks. I have been using SJ as my hub for my travels in Costa Rica and have gotten the opportunity to get to know the staff a bit better as well. Super friendly staff, clean rooms, great service and always helpful. Would recommend!

Great Selina, I have stayed in the deluxe room, the standard room and the dorms and all were fair for their price.

The restaurant offers good food and the drinks are great!

Location is not the best in the city but close to Barrio Escalante (gastronomical area) and La California (clubbing area).

Overall a good experience in downtown San José!

We only stayed for one night, but had a great time. Food and drinks were great. And the staff were really friendly 😊. We got an upgrade on our room to a private with a private bathroom, great way to start the new year!

We highly recommend the massage by Oscar. One of the best massages I’ve ever had! He is also just a very kind man. We did the combo and got a free Costa Rican breakfast, yum!

When you put Selina into your Google maps it points to a Selina sign across the street. Look for the mural wall! We drove up the street a few times before we finally found it.

The hotel was cute. We had a deluxe room and it was Perfect for one night coming into Costa Rica before heading around the country on adventure.

Highly recommend going around the corner to Cafe Rojo for dinner. DELICIOUS!

Hillary was amazing! She is very kind person and helpfully with everything and all the service we need.. my husband and me enjoyed lots the time with the service Hillary offered us .

The perfect place to stay in Town ! I highly recommend you to take a AMAZING massage from the hands of Oscar. Normally I don’t do massage with someone I don’t know because I need very deep and strong massage but I don’t regret it ! On the contrary ! It felt so good. He reached to release the tensions I had on my back. Good job ! Thank you so much. Now I have a massage therapist in San Jose :)

We came specifically for drinks but Melany made the drinks experience even better. Her personally is great and super friendly, she didn’t hesitate on asking if we needed anything. Give that girl a raise.

Had a welcome drink with Bale...she made me feel so welcomed and her recommendations for dinner was the best salad ever

Lovely stay at Selinas San Jose Hostel! Very cozy and welcoming space with a great bar area. I stayed for one night which happened to have free dance lessons for Salsa and Bachata! This was the highly of my stay, the lovely couple who thought the lesson was very patient with superb moves! Highly recommend it if staying in San Jose and be sure to take the class if on a Thursday:)
