Restaurante Wong's 皇朝

Located directly across from Museo Jade, this restaurant, while not traditionally "Tico" is run by a very nice Latino Asian man who speaks Spanish and English. We don't know if it was his restaurant or not, but we do know he was very accommodating and helpful. He was especially helpful when it came to the food. He let us know that the portions were very large and he was not kidding!! The pictures do not do any justice to how large the portions were or how good the food was. We will definitely return when we go back to CR.

Superb Traditional Cantonese handmade dim sum in town. I came here for twice when I stayed in San Jose for one week. Tasty but service was a little slow. However the owner was very friendly and tried to fix it. It’s better to come here at off-peak hours.

Good dim sum and generous portions and great prices. Authentic dim sum in San Jose!!! If u r craving good Cantonese food and cannot think about another meal with chicken and rice and beans, then you should come here now😀! Great stir fried veggies, which I missed so much after 1 week of traditional Costa Rican food. We just took an Uber from our hotel and only cost us $6 each way.

This place is an institution in San José. It's one of the finest Chinese. The price is higher than the average Chinese restaurant... And the food is up to standard. The dim sum are really good and the mains I tried, too. It's central and the staff is friendly. A good place to go with a big group of people to share dishes.

This place is our go to place for authentic Chinese food. Anytime we are in San Jose, this is a must stop for us. From the egg rolls, to the sweet and sour dishes that they have, you really can't go wrong with their food. Make sure you are hungry as the portion are really big, even the small ones. If you are eating here during the week, there are high chances you will see some of Costa Rica's political figures here, so keep your eye out.

For those that have never been, there's a full blown Chinese community in San Jose.
A friend recommended this place and it was so good we came three times in two weeks.
The Dim Sum is legit, the veggies super fresh and crispy, the meat beef, chicken or seafood very tasty. ...

Hate to say it, but Wongs blows away most American Chinese joints!

Delicious dim sum! Dim sum is a tradition in my family and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavors of the food here

Ordered:
- pork ribs
- har gow
- Shanghai fried pork bun
- pork and veggie dumplings
- string beans with sichuan peppers in Bosch bean sauce

Super recommended. Service is slightly slow but is because of too many tables to serve. Atmosphere is slightly noisy.

Only people in the know can really appreciate this place and excellent food. It is not for anyone and they ll make sure to put you in your place if you do not behave correctly. Check out all the bad ratings.

Love the wonton soup here. It is always busy and great service.

I've spent 6 weeks travelling across Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica and I got the best special fried rice (Cantonese Fried Rice), by far, in this place. It had really big pieces of meat in it, with really tasty pork and one medium dish was easily enough for two adults. I also ordered some Jasmin tea, but unfortunately, was charged about a third of the price of the main meal for just one teapot. A real shame for an otherwise excellent meal.
After returning here and ordering the same dish again, but to takeaway, I was a little disappointed to find that the takeaway dish was considerably smaller. I also tried the noodle version of this dish and was similarly disappointed to find that it was even smaller and it contained cauliflower, broccoli and a great deal of ham in it. However, both still tasted pretty good, so I leave my rating as 5 stars.

Just had some appetizers but the food was great and it’s very authentic. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Possibly the best chinese food I've ever had. The portuons are HUGE though.
