Central Park Alajuela

If you have a flight to catch or a long waiting time this is area is a good place to go. It’s close to the airport maybe around 10 minutes by car or taxi and they have a lot to offer. They have museums, restaurants, markets, church and etc. Worth a quick visit before the flight.

Very nice, safe, quaint small park, in the center of town. A beautiful church is there, as well as a history museum....free entry!!! Go visit. Also an indoor market, you can purchase food, clothing, souvenirs, etc. Very affordable. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere. A lot of people were dancing, all in good mood.

Many people pass through and use this park. Beautiful trees, attractive fountain, lots of pigeons.

A hallmark of Alajuela! Park of the Mangoes! We have so much fun feeding the pigeons and squirrels!

Really friendly - always somebody passing who smiles. The Variegated squirrels are vary happy to feed from you. Driving though, especially at night is not as relaxing.

While playing tourist visiting the park, we stumbled upon the inside market nearby. What a find! We spend a couple of hours wandering around looking at interesting shops and vendors. We had lunch at one of the local booths eating traditional Costa Rican plates! A must-see experience.

Charming park in the center of Alajuela CR. A great place to hang out and people watch or watch the local wildlife. Lots of interesting looking squirrels, pigeons and there is a green parrot colony that lives in the treetops of the large palm trees found in the park. Park has lots of comfortable. benches and seating and is well shaded.
The cathedral of Alajuela is on the edge of the park and is worth checking out. On certain days you will find food vendors hanging out on the edge of the park. Definitely a great place to hang out with your family. Michael M

Relaxing. Cleaned up and modernized. New better benches. You can feed pigeons and squirrels. Good stores and museums around it, A good place to see the culture of Alajuela City

Very beautiful!

Beautiful place where local people gather. Lots of activities and events are planned there. Very close to the central market which is also worth a visit.
