Jalapeños Central

Such a cute authentic place to eat yummy meals such as tacos, burritos, fajitas and many more. We bumped into this when walking down the street and it was full, so thought we'll give it a try. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is superb, all the decoration creates a nice vibe and the stuff is really friendly and attentive. I can very much recommend this place.

Great vibe and great service. The desserts and burria were excellent. My standards for enchiladas are very particular so it was just okay from my POV. I love they give very hot sauce when asked and good guacamole. Next time I'll try what other people posted that looked really good.

Delicious food! Friendly staff and a nice Mexican atmosphere. We ordered chili con carne and a vege quesadilla. Very yummy! The only thing I would say was missing was spicy flavor, but we quickly fixed it with some salsa picante. Great margaritas and delicious Micheladas.

This restaurant is great! I found the menu to be quite large with a lot of local and Mexican dishes. The selection was so good it was hard to make a choice!

This restaurant and the one next door (Señor Patacones & Doña Arrepa) have the same owner and if you want you can ask for both menus and order from either one.

The patacones here are the biggest you will find with more selection of toppings than most. The mixed plate is a lot for one person and I noticed that many of the meals were big, but the prices were surprisingly low.

The service was the best that we had during our two week vacation and the owner was very kind and friendly.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Latin comfort food.

This place is a gem. The owner, Norman is a fantastic host and welcomed us with kindness. He had great food.and drink recommendations! The octopus tacos won it for me and the margaritas were GREAT. 10/10

Had a delightful night at Jalapeños Central in Alajuela! The lively atmosphere, fantastic music, and prompt seating set the tone. The staff went above and beyond, crafting a delicious strawberry margarita just for me. We opted for the chicken chimichangas (junior size). While the portion was perfect for me, he wished he had chosen to get the regular size. The flavor was fabulous, and the salsa, though spicy with habaneros, added an extra kick. The entire team was incredibly kind, making our last night in Costa Rica memorable. Highly recommend this gem!

We came all the way from Houston and I must say 10/10! The sweetest staff! Very caring and kind! Food was amazing! The best Tex mex in Costa Rica and very close to the airport!

Great restaurant! Fun walls, food music, enough room for large groups, good portions and food, kind service. We take our students groups there & Patacón every summer! Taco ensalada, anything con todo.

My wife and I both ordered the grilled steak special of the day at the suggestion of a frequent customer that was picking up a to-go order. Divine comes close to describing the meal. Highly recommend!

We came here twice in one evening on our last night in Costa Rica. After a week near Jaco beach, we were craving some Tex Mex. The owner of Alajuela City Hotel & Guest House recommended Jalapeños as one of her go-to spots. Great margaritas/chili gusto shots/bottled beer…and the food was wonderful. The buffalo chicken is very good but you have to love spicy! Highly recommend the Aztec soup. Thank you Gaby for your excellent service despite our language barrier.

Really good Mexican food in San Jose. All 11 of us enjoyed it. Fluent in English or Spanish. Menu is great. Even has a burger if you have someone who needs that. Beer and alcohol selection. Owner is super cool to talk to. Grab an Uber and check it out.

Good spot. Food and price are on point for the area. Can't say much about the atmosphere as it was quiet but it feels like it could be lively.
