Restaurante Mirador del Valle

The ribeye with cauliflower purée was just simply AMAZING. This was one of the best meals I had in Costa Rica. The ambiance and views of the restaurant are gorgeous and the serving staff are friendly. I also really recommend getting the papaya juice.

I found this place on google maps knowing there was some great mirador restaurants (restaurants with a great view) overlooking the Central Valley and we had one night near the airport before flying out the next day. This is very close to the airport but it can take some time with the crazy traffic to get to. It was worth the drive though as the view is great. We were with my in-laws who were in Costa Rica for the first time so this gave them a great view to see what the Central Valley is like. We were a bit concerned when we got there and while waiting for our food as there was not another person in the restaurant and it was 6 pm. On a Monday though. I’m guessing this is a busy place on the weekends! It did not disappoint though. The food was very good. I was disappointed they did not have a Casado as that is what I was planning for our last Costa Rican meal. We ordered the Cordon bleu and shrimp and both were very good. I would say the food was 4-4.5 stars but the view puts the place to a 5! We would go back or recommend this place!

You can’t go wrong with the cansado! The chicken was super juicy and well seasoned. The squash sopa was an unexpected favorite and the Tico Mule was super delicious - I am a guaro girl now!! I think the view and service is definitely worth the trip :)

Great view of the San Jose city lights while we had dinner by the glass railing. The piano player didn’t stop for 2 hours. A real romantic treat!
We had shrimp cocktail, beef tenderloin steak done to perfection and very tender & spaghetti with Alfredo sauce. Everything was 10 out of 10.

What a lovely place to eat. I got chicken and mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was excellent and large portions too. Compliments to the chef. Andre and Andreas offered excellent service. The views alone are worth the visit but I also got a great delicious meal.
