🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Just visited this charming Italian spot in San Jose and felt compelled to share my experience. It’s definitely a five-star find for me, offering a slice of Italy right here in the city.

The Ambiance: From the moment you walk in, the place welcomes you with its cozy vibe. There’s a small, open terrace that’s absolutely inviting, perfect for enjoying the weather outside. Inside, the interior is just as welcoming, with a homely Italian touch that sets the scene for an authentic dining experience.

Food & Drink: The homemade Italian food here is spotless in terms of both taste and presentation. It’s evident that they use fresh ingredients, which makes a world of difference. I was looking for a drink to start with, and the waitress recommended a natural Italian beverage made from lemon and mint. It was refreshing and set the tone for the meal to come. For breakfast, I had this homemade Italian dish that was beyond words – you can see from the photos I’ve attached how delightful it looked and, trust me, it tasted even better.

Overall Experience: This place nails it on all fronts. It’s rare to find a restaurant that makes you feel at home while providing a meal that’s both authentic and delicious. The recommendation from the waitress was a highlight, showing their commitment to a genuine Italian dining experience.

This is true homemade Italian food. I am staying at a hotel nearby and decided to check this place out. I had the meat and cheese plate to start and the ravioli for dinner. I think this was the best ravioli I’ve ever had in my life. The sauce, the pasta, the meat filling … absolutely incredible. The staff/owner are extremely kind and the atmosphere is very cute too. The price is also really really good. It’s not expensive, but honestlyk I think they could charge twice the price and people would pay.

Bravo! This place is lovely. The food is made with such care. Truly a delicious experience. Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Not the typical Italian food, this is the real experience. It resonates with a genuine sincerity. Every bite was a treat. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem.

Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had! The focaccia and pesto is to die for and the tuna bruschetta is worth coming back a million times! Highly recommend the ravioli bolognese as well! Amazing wine!

I'm a fine dining chef and I struggled finding good Italian food in Costa Rica. When I walked in Osteria Faina, I was just going to look at the menu and walk away... But then I saw Marcelo cooking and I knew the food was going to be awesome. Marcelo is one of the most passionate chefs I met in a long time. He loves his food, and loves sharing stories about the meaning and background of what he cooks. I asked him to give me a taster of his dishes and I had a wonderful time. Every dish came with a story and everything was full of flavor and happiness. I left with a full belly, heart and soul. I can't wait to come back. I literally have tears writing this review because I am so touched by his love for food and the amazing attention he gave me. Thank you!

I’m visiting Costa Rica (I live in the U.S.) and our hotel recommended this place. I highly recommend eating here. The food was authentic and the owner was very friendly.

I have eaten many Focaccia in my life. On almost every continent. And let me just say: the Focaccia at this place is the best I ever had. Period. Plus: very nice people, good wine. What more could one ask for.

I lived in Italy for 3 years. This little place is like being back there!! Amazing Genovese cuisine, simple and homey environment.

When the service and food are in a helluva competition with each other, the place is most certainly a hub of goodness!! They started us off with housemade bread along side an incredibly tasty salsa verde. Afterwards, we ordered a phenomnal pizza which was specially made for the two vegans in our family. They both rated it above 10/10. Something like 1000/10! It was really bangin! Also, we got an order of the Gnocchi de osteria. This was knocked out of the park as well! Our server, a very fine italian gentleman, made us feel very loved.

Nice spot in the middle of Romhoser Pavas in a nice and cozy small local, with the warmth of the owner attention! Very recommended.

I tried this restaurant out on my neighbors strong recommendation with a quick pastry and coffee. It was exceptional. I'll be back to work my way through the menu starting with the pizza. They were making the dough from scratch while I was there

I’d like to say I’m picky when it comes to good Italian Pizza. This place does not disappoint. They give you a really tasty appetizer with some homemade pesto. The size of the pizza was just perfect to feel satisfied but not too full. The taste was almost perfect in my opinion. The service is welcoming and the owner is very nice! Will be coming again! Only wish there were more options for natural drinks but it may have just been that day.
