Lake Arenal Hotel and Brewery

Veronica and her staff are wonderful! We enjoyed 5 days here, three generations. Food (and beer) were delicious! Veronica helped me plan daily excursions, local waterfall hikes, boat rides on the Lake Arenal. Carlos arranged to give us a tour of the property, showing us howler monkeys, toucans, and gorgeous fauna. Christian served wonderful drinks and great conversation. Loved the staff, hotel, and brewery...we will definitely be back.

This is an ideal stay for couples of any age, families, and large groups. Sizable property with many trails; amenities like pickleball, pool, corn hole, hot soaking pool and swimming pool.
Top notch Eco-tourism spot with consummate staff with education in environmental studies available for tours. Close to all activities on Lake Arenal and concierge to arrange any and every whim. Here for a week with a friend and we were treated kindly and with respect.
The brewpub and adjoining restaurant are well equipped, and spacious with a great menu. I can’t really say enough about my first time in Costa Rica, and was lucky to have chosen such an exceptional place to base from. Affordable rates.

Came to the restaurant, they close service for an hour in between breakfast and lunch, just bad timing in our part. Decided to sample some beers and take in the beautiful view. Definitely recommend checking this place out to try local beers and enjoy the outdoor seating in the deck that looks out over the lake.

This place is full of charm. It’s very chilled on a beautiful spot above the lake. The hotel was built 30 years ago (I think). It’s been well maintained with care but not updated which means it has plenty of character. Downstairs is the Brewery, really unique. The ethos of the restaurant is excellent, ingredients sourced from the hotel’s own grounds. We had delicious dinner and breakfast.

We were given a flight of beers to try which was fun and enjoyed playing pool.

The shower in our room was excellent!!!

Had an amazing stay at this hotel. We weren't originally planning on staying there, but had stopped in to grab some beers along our travel. The place we were supposed to stay didn't end up working out, so we went back to the brewery and are so happy we did.

We checked in fairly late, but were greeted by very friendly staff. Immediately one of them offered to show us some tree frogs when he noticed us looking at the geckos that were on the windows.

The food was great with really good service from all staff. The atmosphere of this place is really cool with such a stunning view and a great place for viewing wildlife.

The only critique would be the rooms could use some minor updates. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Costa Rica.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning, as there are very few options open at this time of day. We ordered the Tilawa breakfast. Our son also ordered the pancakes and loved them. We are so glad we found this gem! Their beer is equally amazing.

You will have a VERY difficult time finding a place that matches this energy and experience. Right off the bat, the staff was super friendly and had fun and laughs for hours before we even walked into our room. Don’t miss this amazing place if you’re traveling through this part of Costa Rica.

Only reviewing the restaurant as we did not stay in the hotel and only stopped by for food. Poke bowl was awesome and so was the chicken/rice combo my husband ordered. Fruit smoothies were refreshing. We enjoyed the food so much, we decided to eat here again for dinner on the way back to Lake Arenal. Fresh tilapia was not heavily oily. My husband didnt like the burger but definitely liked his margarita. Ceviche was also decent. Best part was the hospitality and friendliness of Christian the bartender. Showed us around the place including the brewery downstairs. A must stop for food!

Stopped in there on yesterday, Tuesday, August 29th and were very happy with the food, service and pleasant staff. They have a new owner in the restaurant and she is absolutly on top of things. The place was immaculate and if you haven't been there in a few months, I would encourage you to stop in. It's on Route 142 a few miles from the Tronadora, San Luis turn off (headed towards Arenal. From what I understand, they will be trying a new brunch menu also. We plan on visiting again, soon.

One of the best breakfasts in Costa Rica. All the food is good but the French toast is my favorite.

A regular stop for us when doing Arenal/Fortuna. Great beers, food, service, and views! Well worth the stop!!

The food in the restaurant was so delicious. Try the ribs they are killer. The staff is friendly and food presentation.

Danielle and I stopped in here, got a beer flight, and loved everything about this place.

This hotel was awesome! We loved exploring the property and the surrounding are. It’s beautiful and great for picture taking. The beer was good and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating! We would love to stay here again.

We found this great place on our way to the beach. I had one of the best if not the Best cheeseburger I have ever ate, really I know who would have thought best burger in Costa Rice but it’s true. I had their stout beer they brew there on premises and it was also amazing. They have 7 beers on tap I believe that they brew their. I will definitely be back. Great service also. I would highly recommend it if you want great food good beer and reasonably priced.

This review is just for the restaurant- we were just passing through, so I can't speak for the hotel. We thought it was a great place to chill with our young family. The food was delicious, the place seemed really clean, and the wait staff made us feel at home. It has a beautiful view, and we even saw a few howler monkeys! Overall a great experience.

WOW! What an awesome hotel. We stayed here for four nights which allowed us to explore many sights in and around Lake Arenal. It also gave me time to taste all of the beers brewed right in the hotel—all great! This is an excellent, peaceful location that is not too far from any one excursion. The view of the lake is spectacular! Honestly one of the best views of the lake. It was an awesome treat to be greeted by a group of 8-10 howler monkeys on the driveway into the hotel.

Complimentary breakfast is included. The dinner menu is awesome, and we opted to eat right at the hotel every night as there were so many delicious options. The cocktails are fabulous as well. Live music every Saturday night and a pool table to pass the time while waiting for your dinner order.

There is a nice pool and hot tub.

All of the employees are so friendly and always willing to give advice on cool places to visit. Great conversations!

Overall, nothing bad to say about our experience. We will definitely be coming back!
