MY FAVORITE MEAL IN COSTA RICA!! The location is easy to find, on the side of the road near the entrance to the park. The staff are friendly. They do not speak english, but we were able to order our food. I believe the options are chicken or steak. The chicken was so tender and fresh. They have fresh delicious juice and beer. There is a creek running behind the restaurant. I loved the open set up.

Probably my favorite meal in Costa Rica! People were super sweet. Beer was ice cold. Wonderful view of the nature out the back. Simple, authentic, flavorful food. Can’t beat it!

Great local food! They also offer a coffee/chocolate tour we saw others at the tail end of their tour. It looked great

Small hidden gem on the way to see Rio Celeste. Food was very tasty and we were able to experience that Costa Rican lifestyle and cooking. Even though they don’t speak much English, they were still very friendly and assisted us with ordering. They had the best empanadas we had during our trip.

They were the only place around Rio Celeste that was open. The carne en salsa is fantastic! The fajitas de pollo are great too! Definition of authentic!

This place is so good. They do have limited food options. No menu, they had checked, fish, and BBQ pork. We ordered one of each. Came with rice, beans - which are staples here, common with entrees- then another side was yellow and creamy and so good. Came with a tiny Salad with a vinaigrette dressing. We say some very pretty birds. And stream down below.

This restaurant on the way to the Tenorio National Park is well worth the stop. The couple who owns this restaurant were the first family to settle in this area and everything they cook for you was raised in their farm. The food is true tipico Costa Rican and delicious. The family doesn’t speak much English, but enough to get by. Highly recommend to stop here near the National park

The farm across the street (that does tours) and this restaurant are all owned by the same family. I HIGHLY recommend the farming tour too where you can eat fresh fruits and make coffee and chocolate grown on the farm. Family is so very friendly and the menu is simple, typical Costa Rican casado dish with chicken, pork or fried fish . The fried fish has become our favorite !! These are the experiences i travel for !

If you are going to Volcán Tenorio or Río Celeste, you have to stop at Doña Casta. This is a typical restaurant, near the Volcán Tenorio National Park, where doña Casta cooks delicious local dishes, many of which are still cooked in a wood fire. This is very rustic and is probably one of the first places to eat on the way to río Celeste. Casados and gallos are the main dishes, but you can also have tamales which were cooked on the local fire. this place is a must.

It's a little side of the road place. The food was delicious (especially, the dessert) and very friendly people! They serve casados with frescas. I recommend to skip the restaurants by the park entrance and drive/walk down a little and eat at this place!!

Locals come here and local guides bring their customers here. Doña Casta is an autoctone cook who prepares exquisite meals, including the chopped green papaya. (Picadillo de papaya verde). They have some plantations of cane right in front of their restaurant and they prepare some derivates out of it.

I recommend 100%, if you want to live a real Costarican experience, don't hesitate to stop. The dishes are typical, Dona Casta is adorable. We tasted her papaya honey and real homemade chocolate. The costillas (ribs) are delicious.

We stopped there on our way to the Tenorio, very nice welcoming, good food and cheap prices. We had a pinto Gallo & coffee.
