Great staff location and service. Food was just amazing from breakfast to dinner. Anyone working there was fun and kind... we have been in few other hotels but definitely the best between them.
Especial thanks to Elizabeth who helped me with the booking, Julian who took great care of us and Bryan who was our tour guide during all the activities!

I would recommend to all my friends this paradise!

Spent 3 nights and had a great time. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and good starting point to explore the island or sip some unique cocktails by the pool.

We had both transport to and from the island booked through the hostel and all worked just as planned. The hostel accomodated for a private transport on the way there as our schedule didn't fit with the regular transport times.

The many activities provided through the hostel (snorkling, kayaking, Bingo, ...) provide a good opportunity to socialize with other travelers.

Probably the World’s Best kept Secret! This place is Gorgeous and has the luxury of a 5 star resort but better because its filled with the Kindest people. The cocktails are made in house and Super Delicious! The bathroom has beautiful tiling and clean, the bed is protected by mosquito nets. So many activities to do every day, its a Blast here!

The food is delizioso! Very friendly Co- Workers, especally David & Michel- Angelo were super nice but also the others.
The different Tours were also super Cool, we realy enjoyed them.
Of course you have alot of mosqitos on the Island- bring a reppelant, but in the Room with air conditoning we were happy.
When you book it they tell you how to come on the Island.
We would love to come back one Time💛

Great place, exactly what you’d expect from a beachy/party hostel. The beach party was a great time. Tons of good looking people, unfortunately I do not have the best salsa, the DJ was on point though. Food is great, the sushi bowl was super fresh. Don’t stay here for 5 days and expect a resort experience. This is a 2 night enjoy the grounds kinda spot.

One thing, The entire complex is fenced in with pretty heavy barbed wire. I wonder whether that has anything to do with the small community that you can walk too and buy bug spray and snacks. Seem like really kind people but gave me a bit of a weird feeling with the heavy duty barb and fence and all.

By far the prettiest hostel i’ve stayed in during my 4,5 months travelling! It’s really fancy for the price you pay. Also by far the best welcome i’ve had!!!!! From second number one I felt at home and welcomed by the extremely sweet staff members. They tell you everything you need to know. The pool and private beach are amazing too! The whole hostel is really clean and all the beds have their own fan so you don’t have problems with the heat while sleeping. The snorkel tour was really fun too. And the hostel is very social, It’s really easy to meet people at the pool and at the bar in the evening. They also organise salsa classes which was a lot of fun too! I think i’ve sayed something about all the aspects of the hostel by now, it really is a 10/10. Can’t wait to be back someday.

Spent 2 nights here and would definitely come back. There are plenty of activities organised by the hostel and lots of places to hangout (beach, pool, hammocks). They also have an outdoor gym where you can do a decent workout (pull-ups, dumbbell curls, barbell etc.), but it has seen better days. Breakfast is an unlimited buffet for 20k COP, quality of dinner is really good and cocktails cost the same as in Cartagena. The best part is the staff who create a great environment.

This hostel is a 12 out of 10. We never had a warm welcome like that during our one month trip in Colombia! The receptionists, cleaning ladies, bartenders, managers, staff from the restaurant, everyone is very friendly. A special thanks to Christian who is the sunshine of this place 💫 We had the chance to enjoy a sunset tour with Santiago and a neon party with fire and DJ on the beach, organized by the hostel. The food is veryyy good and the prices are not higher than in Carthagena. Just go for it!

Really nice hostel-the private room was very clean and comfortable, food was great, and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great service with meals and drinks etc. slightly pricey for a hostel but very worth it for Isla grande! Daily activities were good value too and easy to organise.. only thing is it’s not an ideal place if you are coming hoping for an early night-music is loud and goes until around midnight every day! There’s a beach here too which is ok-water is a bit murky but close by there’s some nice beaches to swim in!

A little taste of paradise. We spent three nights at Secreto and had a wonderful time from the moment we were helped off the boat onto the private beach. The grounds and the colonial houses are beautifully kept. The food is a little expensive given there’s not really any other choices but was all very tasty. Happy hour all afternoon is great for relaxing by the pool on the loungers.

The staff were all lovely, with the exception of one guy who worked the bar during the day which was a shame. The snorkelling excursion is excellent value.

There’s another beach on the other side of the island that is walkable if you want to stretch your legs.

I had such a nice time here! For me it was a vacation within my backpacking, where it is quite expensive meals and smaller portions. And breakfast is not included, which I found out at the reception at check out. But over all! Really nice!

This place is beyond MAGICAL!!! Since we started our reservation process until we left the place, everything was just simply perfect. The place comes with magic, it is unreal the color of the water, the taste of the food, the ´´villas´´, the decks, the pool, the cocktails. The activities they offer are so exciting. Sunset kayaking and snorkeling were our favorites ones. Watching the sunset in the middle of the Caribbean ocean is something I had on my bucket list. Thank you, Secreto for your hospitality. We will be back soon.

Loved our stay here (travelling as a group of 3). Accommodation is set up in beautifully revonated houses with dorms and privates each. We were in the 4-bed dorm (half outside with mosquito nets, so it feels like you're sleeping outside with a roof over your head, which I loved). Staff was amazing and activities offered were a lot of fun (especially the sunset kayak tour). Food was great (I was in love with the cheesecake and had it every day for dessert), however, portions could be slightly bigger and it's more expensive than places on land (island prices).

Edit: as a tip, message them directly for booking to receive a better price!

Que Rico!!!!! The magic of El Secreto is truly something to behold. You will immediately surrender to the power of the island, it will open doors for you. The staff are kind and beautiful. The vibe is a refuge, and place of wonder, a tranquil and tropical paradise. The creators have put really special attention to the culinary and libation experience. The bartender is a craft scientist who makes homemade infusions from the local fruit. You will never be able to enjoy these cocktails anywhere else on earth! The hosts honor the local island residence and the pueblo is so cute and magical. Super safe and kind people everywhere you look. The activities are the real secret...kayaking thru the mangroves, snorkeling the coral and ... my god....swimming in the bioluminescent plankton!!! I can not recommend this experience island hostel enough. I made life long friends for sure. See you soon Secreto!

Great hostel with even greater staff! Everyone is very nice and cares about the guests! Feels like a big family. The rooms are clean and have lots of space. The hostel offers some great activities. I can just recommend to go there when travelling to Isla grande !

I had an amazing time at the secreto hostel, the staff was super nice and they had delicious food. Even vegan options! All in all was it a beautiful place and very clean on top. Would totally come back!

Great experience overall. Good food, very friendly staff, lots of tours on offer. This place seems to be quite a bit older than the current management, so not everything has been restored out of its derelict state, but given a little time I'm sure that will be fine too. Highly recommend!

This Hostel is amazing! To get there you need to catch a boat in cartagena which was very easy since there was a guy with the hostel‘s logo on his shirt helping us. Once you‘re on the island you immediately feel like staying in paradise - relaxing in sunbeds by the pool, sipping cocktails and listening to some latin music! If you feel like being a bit more active there‘re snorkeling and kayaking activities. We did and liked both but we absolutely loved the snorkeling! The food was delicious with vegan and vegetarian options.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel at home! Sometimes we almost forgot that we‘re in a hostel and not in a hotel - you could only tell in the evenings when music was playing and people were socializing.
I‘d recommend Secreto hostel to any backpacker and young travelers who wan‘t to have a relaxing time but also are open to some music and parties at night. However, if you‘re travelling on a really low budget or if you don‘t like hostel vibes, you probably should look for another place.

I had the best time here. I actually cancelled a part of my trip to stay longer. The staff was absolutely incredible. They were helpful and kind. The food and drinks were awesome. But to top it off, the island is a very special place. I can’t wait to come back!
