Picone Fine Food

Husband wanted to make chicken vol-au-vent. We looked high & low for shells or puff pastry - to no avail. We’ve been coming to Picone’s for decades - surely we’ll find some there. I relayed this to the very nice person behind the deli counter & asked if they had any. No, they didn’t. At this point she could’ve just said, “sorry!”, and we’d be on our way. Instead, she said she’d be happy to fetch a frozen pastry sheet from the back - pastry that was for the shop’s own use - and price it reasonably. Talk about going the extra mile! I asked for her name. That “very nice person” was none other than Theresa Picone. We cannot stress enough how grateful we were for her kindness. The puff pastry was exactly what we were looking for and the meal was delicious!

I travel from Port Dover as I love everything about this beautiful shop. From the caring staff to all the amazing food. Always have a great feeling when one leaves this shop.

Aside from their beautiful food offerings, their customer service is unmatched.

My daughter (10) had an experience with the staff here that was infused with such kindness, she spent the whole ride home brainstorming about business models that make the world better.

I love Picone's. I try to get most of my fruits and vegetables there. They try as much as they can to stock local produce, it's always fresh and tastes great.
They also have a good selection of dry goods, ranging from fancy to staples.
The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They're a great small town shop, they like to get to know you and chat with you.
I love going in.

I am super impressed with this store. If not for what they stock then for their customer service. It makes my customer service look like sh**. They are insanely sweet and helpful. Even though some of it is too rich for my blood I come for duck eggs and quail eggs regularly and I will try to get veggies for the week and a couple extras. I try to avoid a lot of ingredients or else I'd go crazy on the fresh goodies/breads/pastas. Thanks for making me feel special ladies

The best boutique food store I have ever known. Offers the freshest local organic produce supplemented by organic produce from California. They also have a wonderful selection of high quality oils, vinegars, cheeses and other cooking essentials from around the world. As someone who loves to cook, this is my favorite store.

Love this store!!! Their Lemon Humous is literally the best humous I have ever tasted and I've eaten a lot of humous in my day!! Delicious food, great service, friendly atmosphere

The people here really care to get to know you and give you a 10/10 food purchase experience. They know there product and keep everything fresh and as local as possible. Supporting local mean your keeping great places like this open for the best fresh bread and fruit/veggies ...If your vegan or GF they have a pile of options aswell.

Locally owned for over 100 years by the same family -- you will always be recognized -acknowledged that you are in the store. Freshest, best produce -- as much locally sourced as pissible. A great kitchen inhouse for those nights you don't feel like cooking there are meals to go. Be sure to find this local gem.

This is my favorite 1 stop shop in Dundas! Very caring and polite staff, excellent selection of produce ( local and organic when in season ) and lots of interesting specialty items from local business's and around the world. Visiting Picone's is a must while in Dundas. Dont forget to try a hand crafted cappuccino or latte!

The summer is made even more glorious as I order fresh truffles from Italy, but the Burrata from Puglia, available to order, is absolute heaven. Friendly, knowledgeable staff make it a pleasure to shop for the finer things in life. A location in Mississauga/Oakville needs to become a reality!

Awesome little market enjoyed by the many generations of family and visitors in Dundas Ontario. Friendly and quaint, your shopping experience will be a good one. Timeless and friendly family owned. I cannot say enough.

This place is a foodie dream. A lovely and well curated selection of food products, many local and imported goods, fresh veggies and fruit, dairy, frozen pastas, endless selection. They make really delicious take away dishes, the stuffed peppers are the bomb!

Fancy! Keywords: unique, high quality, friendly, attentive, small town, cute, local, community, and sadly pricey. However you do get what you pay for! Only place I have seen a tree/stalk of Brussels sprouts! TIP: Right on the main street so you may not find parking, but there is a large lot a short walk around behind the store.

Amazing food - one really realizes what bad food we get at supermarkets when you compare to the food you get here.

Wonderful small town grocery. Excellent prepared meals, fresh vegetables, bakeries and high end spices, marinades and extras. Makes everyone a good cook! Staff are very friendly and helpful.

It is a joy to shop at Picone. Friendly atmosphere, excellent service, quality products / produce, great location in wonderful downtown Dundas where it has served it's faithful customers for more than 100 years. A treasure!

They have a great selection imported European foods. Nice home made Lasagnas and fresh produce. Friendly staff and good Dundas vibes.

We love this store! Especially the local produce options and the gluten free options. The staff and owners are so friendly and helpful, and it's easy to get to.
