Denninger's Foods of the World - Hamilton Mountain

Just like with any supermarket around, you can find items which are really expensive and items which are more acceptable priced and this was no different with this place.

We arrived here after eating at the nearby Mandarin and to do a spot of shopping, stopping at several places: we really like this supermarket due to it's variety of European foods. From British, Scottish to central and Eastern European typical foods although I got 'burned' with a jar of sour cherries which I hoped was made in Turkish/Greek/Balkan way and not just being a paste with no bits of fruits - this was disappointing, besides their loaf of walnut cake done with reduced sugar: even my mother, not a lover of sugar, used to put much more. You want your fix of sugar once in a while, right? And I am not talking about mountains of sugar.

The rest of the many items we got were just great and yes, we will most surely return to get more items so hard to find in other places: the amazing Old Amsterdam (and I hardly like cheese) etc - due to many items being imported, some can be rather expensive, but hey, you make 'sacrifices' once in a while.

Fantastic food and service. Angela was amazing. Made the food fresh for us. She is a credit to the store. Best place to eat real homemade food. We live 3 hours away and always come here when in town. Second visit this week for breakfast and lunch. Ty you so much for giving us a piece of home.

If you want authentic Hungarian or German food and groceries, Denningers is the place to get all that! Having said that, they offer foods of the world! They are currently serving the fortunate cities of Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Burlington and Oakville. Whether you are a meat-lover or vegetarian, try their Bistro counter, where they serve an array of hot entrées such as schnitzels, sausages, burgers, pork roast, cordon bleau, cabbage rolls, lasagna, meatloaf and many more!! They are always served fresh and consistently delicious. The store is filled with dry goods—from gift baskets to candies to teas and seasonings—cookies to breads to cheeses of all kinds. They have prepared foods to go—fresh and frozen—sausages and cold cuts freshly sliced from the Deli counter. One does not have to have a sophisticated palate to appreciate what Denningers has to offer. Go ahead! Give Denningers a try and be prepared to be blown away! You’re welcome!

Oh, my, oh, my....what a wonderful store. Took me back to the old country. Aisle after aisle, fabulous imports from Europe. Quality cut meats in pristine display, meats that I haven't seen in years, cheese selections too many to mention, pastries that look like they were dropped from heaven. Lucky Ontario to have such a gem in their backyard.

Love the smoked pork chops and the meats are great. Can not go wrong buying here. Not cheap but always tasty stuff. Great Virginia ham.

Favourite place with great food and good quality products. My 2 year old loves their ham, bread and is giving slice of bologna sausage every time. We have our favourite cashier lady too!

The roast pork dinner today is THE BEST I've ever had!!! AMAZING. I've been coming here about 12 years, since I moved to here. I came here today to remember someone who has passed away and introduced me to this location. It's a really good memory. The woman who served up my roast pork offered such a friendly smile that helped a little with the sadness mixed in with the memories. Thanks Dennigers!

The staff here are real human beings who enjoy their work, the items in store, and more.

Great food selection on the shelves but I always come back for the breakfast sandwich or a Big Rudy. What is a Big Rudy you ask? Don't ask me... Ask the staff at the hot food counter. And, get everything on it. Including mayo because let's be honest mayonnaise is tasty.

I keep going back because of the memories of Jackson Square's old location, which was perfect to me, and, Stoney Creek is too far to visit the other one. Upper James sortov fits the bill in that regard for travelling.

Wouldn’t have survived past 7 yrs in Hamilton without Denninger’s. Excellent prepared foods, quality meats & produce & impressive bakery. After living 20+ yrs in Toronto & shopping weekly @ Pusateri’s I was skeptical I’d find a go to gourmet market that met my needs. Denninger’s is the only place to shop in Hamilton & fails to disappoint.

The price of their prepared ready to cook meat is a decent value. So much easier tha
n doing all the prep work.

Must stop if in the area! Plenty of fresh baked in store goods. Great selection of meats. Positively delicious, well priced lunch options. Hunter chicken schnitzel on a pretzel bun or Oktoberfest sausage on a bun loaded up with sauerkraut. Can’t go wrong here.

Amazing hot food. Went for lunch and my son and I each ordered the Hunter Sandwich. We both ended up taking half home. Quality food and large portions.

Great comfort food that’s fresh and very delicious wonderful dessert selection, friendly staff, clean store and you can eat there or take home.

We had lunch at the in-store restaurant and had the "Big Rudi" schnitzel on a bun. Delicious!! We've never been disappointed.

Best meals, baked goods, delicious meats and prices ... try their perogies and various sausages ... delicious!!!!

Everything European for Christmas. Definitely items you won’t find elsewhere.

What a lively and lovely location of Denningers. I go here for groceries quite often. The staff, especially the older staff, are so friendly and kind. I have trouble with groceries and putting them into bags. The ladies helped me here and helped me with my reduced products. Thank you for a pleasant shopping experience and being kind humans

Quality foods. Price is indicative of this but i will come here no matter what. Service was excellent.
