Harbour House Hotel

This is a lovely place to stay with amazing staff. I made an error when I initially booked. Even though it was completely my fault, the owners were great about doing all they could to make sure I had the most comfortable and accessible room possible. I booked this hotel while I attended a conference. As an introvert, I needed space away from the bustle of the conference crowd. This was the perfect hotel to get away to after a day of socialization. The staff were friendly and always ready to share information about sights but also really good at reading when you just wanted quiet time. I loved that there were multiple reading nooks spread throughout the venue.

It was a joy to stay at this hotel. If ever I am in the area again, I will most definitely book here again.

The rooms were a little overpriced, but the location is amazing and hotel is cute. Dee at the front desk is incredible, kind, helpful, incredible service and made me extremely comfortable. She's the best part! Overall I had a great stay.

Check-in is always so friendly and welcoming. Tash and Chris are always professional, very knowledgeable and engaging.

My room is always clean, bright and well stocked.

Kelly, the GM has always been very accommodating, personable and bends over backwards when something comes up (like a sugar craving or a light left on in my car)😉.

Woodley's has been a great hang out spot for me. It truly is a hidden gem ~ quiet and quaint! Mohammed always greets me by name, and it makes me smile. He is attentive, loves to create beverages to try, and is always so positive. He notices the smallest details and is very invested in making your experience a good one. Joyce & Cheuy have also always gone over and above with their amazing customer service.

And lastly, to Francois ~ what a very dedicated & talented man. Always a smile on his face, regardless of task. From grounds to carpentry and everything in between, you make it look fun!

This was a beautifully renovated small hotel. Quality linens, pillows and fluffy robes. The rooms were spotless and the bed so comfortable. The staff were amazing and Chris went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Even Housekeeping left a personal note sharing their favorite spot on the island. Ours was Beddis Beach and we enjoyed an afternoon there. Lots of small extras like 4 pack of chocolate truffles, espresso maker, Biscotti cookies. I would recommend getting a room with the front facing patio. Patio was furnished with a cushioned comfy sofa and they had piped in music. Don't let the main road bother you, it was quiet in the evenings and we could hear the waves and the crickets as we relaxed and sipped our wine. I slept like a baby. Also you can walk to all the shops and restaurants from the hotel. The fridge in the room for your personal drinks and snacks was an added benefit too. We were able to keep our picnic foods cold and pack the cooler in the morning before we took off to explore the beaches for the day. We will be back!!

Everything about this place is amazing! Wonderful friendly staff, clean spacious rooms with beautiful views and little luxuries that make you feel spoiled. A short walk takes you in to town with cute markets and stores. Everything is so close!

Harbour House, in the heart of Salt Springs Island's quaint central community of Ganges, provided us with a beautiful and restorative respite over a wonderfully long weekend. The artists and craftspeople, the farmers and shopkeepers and chefs of Salt Springs are abundant, gifted, and we now plan to return often.
Our room at Harbour House was spacious, immaculate, extremely comfortable, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the harbor. We liked everything about Harbour House, especially the people who staff it. Behind the front desk, Loretta, Chris, Nate and Farnald (please forgive any misspellings) welcomed us so warmly and authentically that we felt very special.

We really enjoyed our stay. This is a very nice property, with modern rooms that appears to be a newly renovated hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly at the front desk when we needed them (followed up on for local advise after check in). Honestly the staff we all dealt with were great, they really did care which is refreshing. The restaurant in the hotel had a fantastic burger, this kitchen was really on it's game that day. Also the breakfast sandwiches were really good (great cheese) that they had in the kitchen that's in the front lobby.

Modern rooms. Good bed. Daily room service. Big soft towels. Lots of little snacks. Nescafe coffee in room. Helpful manager. Cheerful restaurant wait staff. Park behind hotel to skip steps.

My family and I got snowed in on Salt Spring Island in the big snowstorm just before Christmas. Ferries were cancelled with 1hr notice and we were stuck with 2 children under 4, our dog, and nowhere to stay at around 3pm in the afternoon. Harbour House Hotel were the first people that we rang, and i'll be forever grateful that we did. From the first call with Max on front desk, they accommodated us in one of their two pet friendly rooms. We thought we'd absolutely landed on our feet - it gets somehow though, better. From dinner being delivered to us and our children despite the storm, to a complimentary breakfast and helping hand with a dead car battery. I have not experienced kindness like this is at ANY hotel i've stayed in. All the staff went above and beyond and i would urge anyone to go stay.... it's a total gem.

The compliment goes out first to the Chef of Woodley's.
You cooked me salmon on a Saturday night and it was perfect. There was no room for improvement on that. I was in awe at is perfection.

Secondly it goes out to our server who assisted in every choice of my party that day. The dinner choice, the wine, the tea, the bourbon that was available. Weird requests at times but all accommodated.

Recommendation to others:
Never skip the apple pie here. It is memorable.

Nice modern rooms that seem new renovated hotel. The lamps in bed side table where kinda have hard to find out how to turn off in my opinion. The switch underneath the metal parts attached to wall which wasn’t obvious to me.

The washrooms in rooms had mention sensor lights which was nice because you well didn’t to turn on the lights. I shower needs some more thought into the design because the water gets everywhere and I think door would be best option to stop the water from getting every where.

The evening checking staff members was very friendly and helpful about checking in and finding your way. The morning stuff where also very friendly and informative.

In one word, amazing...

Polite and friendly staff. Clean common areas and rooms, (to pass the inspection of my wife is an accomplishment). Amazing view of Ganges Harbour. Close to town. Bed was very comfy. Cannot think of a negative.

We have never been here before, but will definitely be back time and time again. What a great way to spend valentines weekend with my wife. Thank you.

Second stay at this hotel. Would rate higher if possible! It was my birthday and management up graded our room to their high end premium suite and had a bottle of wine placed in our suite. The staff and management are excellent. I really felt both stays they really wanted us to be happy and comfortable. A nice change to experience such personal attention. The on site restaurant is very good and exceeded our expectations. The entire establishment is spotless . The standards of cleanliness and service very high. We will recommending Harbour House Hotel to our friends and family. We look forward to our next stay

This hotel is beautiful! It has been recently upgraded and the rooms are lovely. The views of the Ganges Harbour are spectacular. We sat out on the cozy couches on our deck and stared out at the water, watching the boats sail around for hours. The beds are also really comfortable. The staff were really welcoming too. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

Check in was pretty easy, but the front desk staff weren't friendly. Our room was nice, the bedsheets were a little crinkly. I really loved the continental breakfast that they had every single morning. Buffet style, all you can eat. The restaurant attached to the hotel is absolutely fantastic and the staff working there are amazing! I had a really great experience, and will defit be back!

The look of the place really is quite great, with a very nice view of the harbour in front. I was never here before they did renovations, but you can tell they have put a lot of work into making the place feel new but yet still retain character. There is a really good feel and energy to this place which you rarely get at a hotel. And of course the staff are all super friendly and helpful.

We booked our wedding reception at Harbour House for 90 guests who stayed on-site for the weekend. From the moment we arrived until we left we were in great hands! The renovations in the rooms and entrance are stunning, the food and beverages were all local, excellent and well-priced. The outdoor restaurant outdoor space is also top-notch. The banquet space is modern but will require some decorative creativity for your more special occasions. Overall a perfect west-coast chic venue on the Island within close walking distance to downtown, professional and friendly hotel staff, and stunning views.

Our experience was not completely perfect. But they do try. And they do come close, given we are on a small island. The rooms are comfy, the fixtures are modern, and they stock each room with Nespresso. The restaurant was quality. I highly recommend the chowder. I took some back to the city.

At the time of this writing they are short staffed (same with everywhere else on this island). Any mishaps, and concerns were graciously dealt with by a gent named Mike. He even went above and beyond even for our trivial expectations. And that deserves the extra star.

Long story short, Harbour House is as good as it gets in terms of a hotel experience in a small town, farm community--- comparable to the city. Some may prefer a b&b for the money and experience. But let's not compare apples to oranges.

While visiting Salt Spring Island with friends from Victoria we spontaneously decided to spend the night. We were fortunate that as it was off season that there were a couple of rooms available. Both rooms were large with nice bathrooms and balconies overlooking Ganges Harbor. When I called for reservations I mentioned we brought a bottle of wine to enjoy on the balcony. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had left wine glasses in the room for us. While checking in I was also surprised that while it's not mentioned on their website they do serve a full breakfast with sausage, eggs and everything else you'd expect from a hotel breakfast. All the staff are friendly and helpful.
