The Beat Goes On

They have a bit of everything. Pretty decent vinyl selections and if you have the patience, rummaging through their 99 cent vinyls is amazing. Some awesome vinyls of pretty good quality at a price I haven't seen anywhere else. New vinyls are priced as expected. Will definitely check out other locations to see if they are comparable. Overall enjoyed my experience and will go again if I am ever in the area :)

This had been a great place to shop for music and movies for years!

They have an excellent selection of titles and offer both used and new discs that you can purchase and keep in your collection for playback at any time! Not at the whim of what a streaming service decides to offer you. They also carry a great selection of new vinyl records!

The store is tidy and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful, but they leave you alone to browse without any pressure. Prices are good and they have blowout prices for some titles. As low as $2.99 for a Blu-ray movie!!! What a great way to stock up on movies and shows!

I highly recommend shopping here for all of your movie and music needs!

Love this used DVD/CD/LP store! They have a lot of DVDs in their bargain bin, which are between $2-$8 for most of the ones I saw. They have a children's DVD section as well. You can sell your used DVDs,CDs, and LPs to this store, or you can buy them. I love their online wishlist, which notifies me when a DVD that I want comes in stock. Sometimes, the Beat Goes On has a storewide sale. They had a 30% off sale a few weeks ago. Before the pandemic, they always had a 40% off sale in August, but that hasn't happened since.

Nearby Tips: Pop over to Decadently Yours, which is a stone throw away for an amazing Simply Vanilla cupcake or caramel brownie. Wellington Cakes has the best pecan tarts, if they aren't sold out. Eric the Baker also has an phenomenal brownie. Killer Cupcakes also has wonderful cupcakes (Red Velvet Nutella and the Money Cake are some of my favourites) and the Stephani cookie. Absolutely phenomenal service, the best records in the world!!! You could even say it is record breaking! Haha but seriously this place has the best service in Guelph you won’t find anything like it anywhere in the whole wide world. If I had a nickel for everytime I was shocked by how awesome this store was I’d be a millionaire for sure !!!

I love the selection of their vinyl!! I ordered online and had my orders delivered to the store. I was immediately notified when they came in and picked up. Staff is friendly, welcoming and easy to talk with.

The Beat Goes On has been here seemingly forever. They carry a wide selection of audio and video, both new and used at excellent prices. I primarily come here for LPs, and while the in-store selection will be somewhat limited due to space constraints, their online presence is excellent and you can order in anything (available) that may not be on the racks, with free pick-up at the store if you have it shipped there.

The used selection is the standout here though as they seem to move a good amount of inventory over time and it's always a pleasure dropping by to see what new gems may have popped up.

The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable and provide what I've found to be highly accurate and honest evaluations of the used selection which I appreciate. The odd issue I've had with a record (which is going to happen if you're buying a lot of used LPs) has always been dealt with professionaly and fairly and I recommend this store to anyone looking to include a local retailer specializing in audio/video as a regular part of your hunt for the good stuff.

Hands down the best and most versatile video/music store in Guelph! Me and my boyfriend frequently come here as we are those rare DVD watchers and CD listeners that still exist. The prices are unbeatable and the items are always top quality, even if they have been used. The selection is incredibly wide, I have come across some real finds with both music and movies. I’m an oldies fan, so I struck gold finding albums from Lesley Gore, Nancy Sinatra and all the jazz/big band artists.
Steve and Joel are the best. They are quite the characters and are always playing innovative music while you look around. They also take the time to search up what you’re looking for and also order it in from other locations. Stay awesome Beat Goes On!

I have been buying and selling to The Beat Goes On now for about 20 years. They have always been great. I love the fact that the employees there are not just employees, they are Music and Movie lovers just like all of us who shop there. It's definitely a top choice when you need to find that cd, movie or videogame. 🤘🛹🤘

This is my favorite Beat Goes On location. The staff are very awesome and friendly and funny. They seem to interact well with people of all ages and types. You can feel comfortable walking in there, whomever you are.
Of course, the selection is great, the prices are great and you are treated fairly when selling or trading in your things.

Fantastic selection and prices great customer service dangerous place LOL I added to my wish list for Christmas many items in this store and I'm going to insist my husband stays out of there so he doesn't pick up all of the Christmas presents that he would put on his wish list lol

A fantastic record store! Joel, Steve and the rest of the crew are always super helpful and pretty funny. The new layout is bright and spacious and there's always a great selection of CDs and Vinyl. Swing by and check it out if you're in the area. Highly recommended.

I traded in some blu-rays and dvds here. The experience was great. I had hundreds of movies to trade in, the staff quickly grabbed the items from me, took my info and got back to me within their estimated time frame.

Always get movies here once and a while. The dude with the beard and glasses has one of the greatest personalities. Very enthusiastic and knows where to get movies upon request. Give this man a double thumbs up! Awesome guys. Keep up the hard work!
