Grace Hospital

Best hospital around. Always nice staff. Have been here for ER and even surgeries with months ming recovery. Yes wait time sucks for anything but it's free healthcare, it is what it is. Will always go here. You have to remember people with negative reviews are people who are in pain... We're all in pain.. Being sick sucks. If the staff could snap their fingers and make you feel better they would. Think how hard it is to deal with sick angry people daily... It's a hard job and kudos to them all for putting up with us.

My dear friend was brought into the grace emergency in serious condition, March17/24 being on her contact list i was notified right away. While I was sitting holding her hand watching the staff looking after my friend with such gentle, compassionate care in the hours left to be with us was so amazing. I seen upfront the amount of work the staff at the hospital have looking after our family members , who knows how many hours or days they have worked in a row. The staff remain professional, calm, pleasant and compassionate. As my friend passed away, her male nurse held me as I sobbed and told me they were there for me if I needed anything. The Staff( doctor, nurses, healthcare aides, etc ) at the Grace Emergency are absolutely amazing. Thank you for the wonderful care of my friend and your compassion towards me. Darlene McEvoy

I went to Grace Hospital Emergency with extremely high blood pressure at 8:30 am. It was a very scary situation. Process was very smooth. Was admitted, saw the triage nurse, had EKG and blood work, all within 1 hour. Triage nurse came to me in the waiting area a second time, roughly 1 hour after being admitted to re-check my blood pressure. Was in to see a doctor and home by noon. It was a very good experience. The doctor on duty was very caring and comforting. I cannot say a negative thing about my experience. The volunteer at the entrance to the Emergency Department was just wonderful. Absolutely no complaints from me.

My mother was admitted to Grace Hospital on the second floor. She broke her hip and the staff are amazing doctors and all the nurses nurse, Peter to nurse, Bernie and Lori. I wish I knew everybody’s name and also the Physio therapist, Tom. they really take their time to talk to the patient and try to listen to their conversations and their stories from the bottom of my heart and my mothers. We are so thankful for all the staff at Grace Hospital. and now that my mother is getting discharged February 2, 2024 she has considered all the nurses and doctors on the second floor all her kids. That’s how much we have appreciated so much what everybody at the Grace Hospital was so kind and considerate and patient with my mother for all the stuff on the second floor. Thank you so much you will never be forgotten And thank you so much for the Staff on the second floor of Grace Hospital. Trying to speak Portuguese to my mother. You guys are all amazing. I needed the service of the hospital’s ER yesterday and they were fantastic. I arrived by ambulance at 1 am and they got me on to a bed quickly. The stay took most of the day but I received very good care and all staff were very professional and were caring. I will say that the ER was over full and some people didn’t need urgent care care but that wasn’t the reason for my note. The complete staff were working to capacity and giving the very best attention to all patients there. Thank you very much. Jack Kuypers

Big shout out to the doctor,nurses and staff in emergency. On Jan. 12 evening the staff treated my 97yr. old mother with such great care and respect. They checked her out so good nwe are very thankful to you all. St Boniface hospital 2 weeks earlier barely even looked at her when she was sent there after her fall and missed the fact that she also had a UTI which was part of her problems. Thank you again

Absolute best hospital in Winnipeg. I’ve gone there a few times now to the ER and wait time is reasonable and they take all your concerns seriously. Last night was the most recent and I saw a Dr K Hawyluk (I think), she was blonde and pregnant and the most on hands doctor I’ve ever had couldn’t have asked for a better more understanding and caring doctor. Had Dr. Friesen in the past when my oxygen was very low and he definitely helped me and made me better within two days. Very very happy with everything the grace has to offer.

I was there jan 6 at emergency it was very efficient all the staff was wonderful. I was there about 4 hours had x-rays. If you have something serious there is not much of a wait. Do not go to emergency for minor things go to access they treat you very well and Lot faster

I came in for kidney stones. It was a long wait. Being from a different Province, i have to say that the staff here is great. My doctor was great. Explained well what procedure they would undertake. My nurse Rikki is absolutely a gem. She is caring, nice and goes beyond her way to explain things in a clear and professional manner. I give the staff here a 5 star rating. I'm extremely glad I came to this hospital and recommend this hospital. The wait times can be long but the staff makes up for it as I was treated like a human being and not just a number like other hospitals I've been to.

The hospital has a huge parking area, one at the front and at the back of the hospital. Plus, you can also park along the streets. Just make sure you check and follow all the street signs.

There's Tim Hortons located inside the hospital and cafeteria for staff and visitors.

I had cut my finger with a circular saw. When we got to the hospital I looked like there might be more happening to me medically, than just the finger, so my wife took me to Emergency as opposed to Access. Emergency people checked me out, wrapped my finger. Told us that Access would be able to stitch the finger with less wait time than the Emergency area. Great care in the Emergency area, in a timely fashion!! Stitches were done on Access.

In for Hip Replacement. From the first moment I walked In till I was wheeled out, I was treated with kindnes and total respect

If your tense about MRI's don't be the staff in the imaging dept. Are exceptional!! I use to take drugs before I went and now I don't. They put a cool cloth over your eyes that helps you relax and will ask you several times if your doing ok. You feel so relaxed don't be
Surprised if you fall asleep!!+ I AM NOT KIDDING!!! Now if I have to get an MRI I ALWAYS ASK FOR GRACE HOSPITAL.

The nurses were so reassuring and calming. The Dr was great and helped me with my issue. I had to travel over 7 hours to find an answer the Northen Health Region couldn't give me. So far my issue is starting resolve but not completely yet. Still working on my issue. Check in clerk was absolutely reassuring as well and gave me pointers and I really appreciated it. One of the Nurses I recognized that was a community member from my home town and it was so nice to see her succeed and not be stuck in our small home town where we have little to no jobs. Way to go!

Went to Er to have then lòok at a cast that was put on the week before on my arm and wrist. This was because cast was tight and arm and hand were hot. Immediately the
Male nurse cut the cast off and I waited for New one to be put on. Was a 10 hour wait and that was fine. Others needed care. I had a new one on and then they had to try and and cut off a titanium ring. Very difficult for them. They got it off with a grinder. They were very careful and patience..I want to say thank you so much for the care and kindness that was given me. Even though I was there for 12 hours I was happy to see sick people go before. Yes, all doctors were very busy as well as nurses.. koodos to all. And thank you Barbara Mager

Chelsea was above and beyond. I was there for my kidney stones. I was in pain, she was very kind was checking up on me every hour not only me but every other patient as well.
I went to emergency room for my pain, she really helped me through out all the process and have genuine advise to me what to do next.

Extremely well run ER nurses are hardworking.

I went to Emergency at Grace Hospital and was treated with kindness and professionalism from every person that helped me - the people that gave me a mask, the woman that registered me, triage, the nurse practitioner (Kate, you’re amazing!), the doctor, and lastly the woman that performed my ultrasound. Yes, it was a lengthy wait and a long day but that’s the system.
Thank you for all that you do and the compassion that you show.

I spent 5 days in Grace Hospital with emergency surgery just before Christmas. As a former health care worker for 30 yrs in the city's 2nd largest hospital, this hospital was amazing. I left my job because of poor management and extremely unhappy people. Every person that cared for me during my stay was so kind. From the busy nurses in Emergency to the ones on the ward. Everyone was smiling and happy. Thank you all for making an unpleasant time bearable. 4 South huge kudos xx

Good services, workers, and volunteers are very respectful and helpful. The top hospital in the city!
