Hammonds Plains Family Practice and Walk-In Clinic

Since moving to the area almost two years ago, we’ve come to this clinic on a number of occasions (whether it’s for my son or myself) and have always had a great experience. I’ve seen three different doctors here during this time and have seen each of them more than once. They’re quick, kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate - you really couldn’t ask for a better set of doctors. The reception staff are always so helpful. It is a busy spot, so getting an appointment for a walk-in can be challenging. There have been a few times when we couldn’t get in for an appointment and had to try another day but that’s the state of the medical system in this province.

Had gotten a q-tip cotton ball stuck in my ear. drove to 3 different walk-in clinics and this one was only doing bookings, fully booked by the time i got there but could tell I was having a hard time finding someone to help me and they took me in and removed it in 3 minutes.! Appreciated it alot!

Went for the first time today, got appointment on same day, very good doctor. Nice front staff. Happy could get the care for my daughter when really needed.

Wonderful front staff and grateful for the doctors in this clinic. They are always willing to help if/when possible.

Great people but impossible to get in. Not their fault of course. But still.. call one minute and they are closed. Call 30 seconds later and they are full / taking no more bookings. Very frustrating. Would be great if you kept your line in queue while on hold.

The award for worst and rudest receptionist staff I’ve ever spoken to goes to this walk in clinic. Hung up on me not once but twice, second time after saying “we’re fully booked” and did not even give me a chance to respond. Absolute buffoonery

What’s the point of a walk in clinic if you can’t “walk in”? Called for 2 hours straight starting at 8:45 with no answer whatsoever. Worst “walk in clinic” in Halifax by a landslide.. just ridiculous

Tried calling right at 8:45..call gets cut off every 3 mins saying call volume is high..and no one available to answer the phones ..worst clinic ever

They never answer the phone, impossible to book a walk-in appointment. Congratulations Nova Scotia Health for the Great Service!

My family doctor is here but I can never get in to see him without taking time off work as they close Saturdays and Evenings. My kids are not counted as part of my family so must try to call the walk-in clinic. My daughter tried 79 times one morning to make an appointment before giving up. They open at 8:30 but do not answer the phone until 8:45! Once they do fill up appointments they stop answering the phone. They also close from 11:30 to 1:00 for lunch. Why not rotate lunch breaks to stay open and see more patients?? Terrible service. Do Not Recommend.

Tried to explain to receptionist that their fax machine must have a problem because 3 faxes to THREE DIFFERENT locations were not received. She blamed the 3 recipients. Then she added, "this happens all the time". It caused me some consternation and for one fax to pharmacy (that didn't get there), it forced me to drive BACK to this clinic and get a hardcopy. If something is "happening all the time", then there's a problem isn't there. I complained to the College about it. Doctor okay, but receptionist needs some training
