This is a shelter that is referral based. Meaning one cannot just go and self reffer and get a room and stay there. You must have some sort of community advocacy help. However, if you require food, sleeping bags, clothing etc, they will certainly help you out in those regards.

Stayed at this hotel while in town for some work. The rooms are very nice, staff was some of the nicest I've ever experienced and the restaurant was just delicious. I went out to eat nearby one night but the hotel restaurant was so good I just kept going there instead. Definitely will stay again.

One of my favorite hotels, I keep coming back and it always holds up to expectations. The rooms always feel new and fresh. Friendly and helpful staff. Near everything, walkable for most. The restaurant is also pretty good. Comfy super clean beds.

Had an absolutely awesome experience at this Double Tree, was very reasonably priced and is in a very convenient location. I love that at check in you are greeted in a friendly manner and we're given warm chocolate chip and walnut cookies 🍪😋 The room was beautiful and came with a balcony. Beds were very comfortable and the television had a great cable package. The staff were very friendly and courteous 🙂 Breakfast was phenomenal, the waffle was amazing 😋 the pool is an adequate size. Throughout the hotel the style, design and decor is beautifully decorated with a purple theme💜 I absolutely loved and enjoyed my stay here it most definitely exceeded my expectations 🙂💜

Excellent service when I stayed at this Hilton. I travel all the time and seeing how Emily treated the guests made me want to come stay at this location even more. Downfall was that the entry smelled like smoke due to being staying by the door like right beside smoking even with signs .Emily made up for that the smile she brings and the help when needed made everything so much better.hopefully she gets to be recognized for her amazing work and also gets to see this comment .

We were advised against staying here at one point as the hotel provides a number of government subsidized rooms on a lower floor to support displaced individuals. The hotel does a great job of balancing community and guest needs. We spent one night here and have no complaints. Our room was spotless and comfortable as was the hotel. Staff were amazing in making us feel welcome. Great location and central to both Dartmouth and Halifax.

This double tree is absolutely the best location, has the most friendly staff and is SUPER CLEAN!. the staff go above and beyond their regular daily routine to make sure your stay is just right. Plus the cookies they give you when you check in are TO DIE FOR!. They have a pool and a sanitized high end gym, a great bar with food that is made for fine dining. At a great nightly rate you can't go wrong by staying here. We loved it!

Emily was my room attendee she helped me with extras when I needed them. She was able to help me feel welcomed especially with this hotel being a part of the government program helping homeless people. If anyone were to stay there hopefully you get to interact with Emily. She is very friendly and puts the vacationers needs first even with being very busy cleaning rooms.

We booked for two nights and ended up staying a third night. Room was overlooking the harbour with a balcony. Very clean and well appointed. Spacious and the bathroom had an awesome walk in shower. Staff are very friendly and the bonus here are the delicious cookies. Breakfast was good along with coffee. It’s easy walking to the ferry and for 2$ you can be at the Halifax Wharf. We had lunch at the Canteen… get the lobster Crab roll!!Again walking distance. Highly recommend!

I was only here for a job fair. The views are pretty spectacular and everything looked really posh and nice. Definitely better than thr average hotel.

Awesome stay. Had two balcony rooms. One room was super loud on the balcony because of the AC units on the roof below and not a good view, but the other room was perfect. Nice to sit out there and enjoy the evenings looking at Halifax across the water. Would stay here again without a doubt. Thankfully had the second balcony room to hang out in.

Very impressed. Stephen and Ravmeet immediately made us feel at home as we checked in. So friendly and welcoming. The room was exactly as shown on the web site. Plus the view of Halifax Harbour was perfect! The room was very clean and love the walk in shower. Found the beds very comfortable. This will be our goto hotel when we come back to visit Halifax.

Very very nice hotel! They have taken extra precautions during Covid and made my stay feel extra safe. Everything in the room was very clean and I slept like a baby in those comfortable beds! And the restaurant downstairs is very nice with awesome staff!! I would love to go back there if I go back to Halifax some day

Had a great experience. Staff was very helpful, we received a complementary cookies upon arrival. Room was very clean and had a modern looking design. Great location as well! Would definitely come back!

The entire staff at Double Tree went above and beyond to make sure my stay with them was perfect. They always greeted me with a smile and even welcomed me with a cookie (that was warm like fresh out of the oven!)

Had an overall really great stay, hotel was very clean, service was very pleasant, we enjoyed the location as it's right beside the toll bridge which made going over to Halifax a breeze. Only small problem was the buffet breakfast we had our second morning. We went around 10:20 and the buffet ran until 11 however there was no food left for us. That being said the kitchen staff made all new food and brought it out and restocked everything. We really enjoyed the omelet and waffle bar. Would definitely stay here again

I stay here 7 times a month for work, the rooms are always clean, the front desk girls are the very best! The buffet breakfast is always good, they also have great coffee. They use to have it complementary but have since taken it away, which is disappointing because it is better then the Starbucks in the lobby.

Fantastic hotel. Very clean. Rooms are beautiful with lovely views of the water and the city. Stephen, the front desk manager is a standup human being and went out of his way to make me feel like I made an excellent choice in hotels. Paige says hi!!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Lovely updated hotel, which I understand was recently rebranded. Staff very friendly, restaurant was very good, rooms were fresh and ours had a great view of the harbour. Would certainly recommend and expect that we will be returning there in a few weeks. Oh, must mention the warm cookies that we were given upon arrival! When the clerk found out that I couldn't eat mine, he offered to get me a fruit bowl instead. That was a much appreciated gesture.
