Loved this little hidden gem, their Pain au chocolat is a must try. They seem to have perfected their recipes as all the baked goods were moist and soft, they melt right away. Absolutely loved their coffee.

The staff was very friendly and patient, the cafe had the right atmosphere to sit in to enjoy your drink and pastries and work. Prices are reasonable for the amounts.

They also have a wall of coffee and other items for sale for anyone interested in purchasing them.

Lined up out the door! We stopped by to grab some Anchored Coffee and couldn’t resist trying their massive croissants.

Incredible - it’s obvious they have perfected these recipes. A must try if you’re in the area! The croissants tasted amazing (better than France’s in my opinion).

Staff were busy making their shop work for the customers - everything was clean and well-stocked.

While we were enjoying our breakfast loads of people (locals?) were walking towards the business excitedly talking about the croissants.

Highly recommend this gem!!

These massive croissants are not just impressive for their girth, but they are also packing in nice flavour combos and have a lovely texture. These are not your traditional Parisian croissants, these are something unique. My friend and I ran across the Macdonald bridge to indulge in one of these bad boys.

Discovered "Two if my sea" on Google—unique name! The standout is the chocolate croissant; fresh, tasty cinnamon bun, and amazing prosciutto. Hoping the latte matches up to the chocolates!

A Dartmouth Gem! Their croissants are incomparable - especially their weekday specials! Coffee is good & there is lots of cute merchandise to shop while waiting.

This cafe is so adorable, the coffee was delicious, the pastries were delicious, it was so worth the visit. I had a pain au chocolat and an almond croissant, both were moist and tasted just like something I’d get in French. I highly recommended stopping by TIBS, it made my visit to Halifax so much better.

A absolute must to stop by in Dartmouth for a beautiful breakfast. Their muffins are incredible! Soft and moist with a fantastic sugary crust on top. Their Mocha and latte were delicious and beautiful. Service was fantastic as well. ☕

Recommended by a local. The prosciutto and provolone was absolutely delicious. A bit more dense than the typical authentic french style croissant but delicious nonetheless. Service was also fantastic - definitely will be back the next time I'm in Halifax

We came to that place as most recommended, but we were a little bit disappointed because not much place to seat and the Croissants were not fresh already at 12 but coffee is good 👍🏻
I added 5 stars because they are doing their job well

Overall if you're looking to get large sized delicious cookies and crosaints with delicious coffee then this is the place to go. Definitely one of the go to landmarks in Dartmouth now.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Busy but not a long wait and not chaotic. Chocolate croissants are amazing. Food there is super rich and may seen slightly expensive at first but is worth it. Portion sizes are great. If you cant eat it all the people at front will pack it up to go. There drinks/coffee are a good different for people sick of the same old same old

I went to college in Halifax 8 years ago and I still dream of the croissants today 😋 I went to the shop by the ferry terminal on the Halifax side (which appears to be gone now unfortunately). They were better then the ones I've had in France by FAR! I live in Toronto now and all the croissants here have been a disappointment so far...

How could you not give this place five stars? Croissants the size of your head and incredible coffee make it worth the drive across the bridge on a Sunday morning. I've literally ran from the rotary just to get a croissant and Americano on a beautiful summer Saturday and it was so so so worth it (tough run back though!) My only complaint is the healthy grumpiness the staff show for people who don't know what they want in line - honestly just makes me laugh! 😂 Will be a regular here for years to come.

TIBS is 100% one of the reasons we moved to Nova Scotia, ha! If you have not been here, you are missing out. (Read that again). My husband's favourite croissant is the prosciutto and provolone, while I am a die hard fan of the almond or chocolate. I've also had the lemon curd one, which could become a regular and I would not be upset. These are not your everyday croissant - I'm talking 2lb of flakey buttery deliciousness. I don't find it a coincidence that they put them in a 5lb paper bag, haha! Most of the staff are really friendly; the chai latte and apple cider are also really good. Such a quaint little place where you always feel welcome. You should go!

Another famous Dartmouth institution in an absolutely lovely spot. Very few places I actively recommend for travellers or visitors as a "must go," but TIBS is one.

It's been a long time since I've been there, quite a few years, since the "unpleasantness" that need not be mentioned, but this is better times, at least for TIBS. I used to live more-or-less next door, but I was feeling a hankering for their famous croissants. Usually, for seemingly gimmicky fare like artisan croissants, you don't expect them to be so constantly busy all these years later, but every time I drive by there's a line.

So, I purchased two croissants. My favorite, the prosciutto and provolone and a new-to-me croissant, the donair croissant. I was QUITE EXCITED. After biting into the P&P croissant, I was overjoyed. Crunchy, buttery, flaky, salty, sweet. The hard outer crust of their croissants is hit-or-miss for people.
The donair croissant was something else. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it seemed like some sort of science experiment croissant engineering. It definitely is something for a donair enthusiast, and quite good, but somewhat more novel than anything else.

Coffee keeps the doors open, and I don't drink coffee anymore or caffeine, but I know a good cup still when I taste one. I had a medium roast, and it was quite good, smooth, slightly sweet even black. I had a taste of my companions latte, and it was quite good. It was exactly what you should expect from an upscale coffee place, but not the best I've ever had. Coffee drinkers will get tons of mileage out of TIBS, more than I would nowadays.

I rate this place at five stars even though there are four star establishments I would visit much more frequently, and my reasoning is this: TIBS does precisely what it sets out to do—make a premium artisan croissant. It executes this perfectly. It's a rich treat to enjoy on occasion.

A lovely café with great croissants (chocolate, prosciutto + provolone, almond) and a nice seating area!
