Sea&Field Bistro

This is a real gem in the community. It's the kind of place all those restaurant rescue shows try to achieve: do a few things with quality ingredients, top notch service and do them well.

My mom lives in town and I was born and raised here in Gold River. While I've dined in a few times, I've not taken the time to review. Tonight we both opted for pizza. I'm a self-proclaimed pizza addict and since I'm also a workaholic in my real life when I'm not visiting my mom, pizza is an important food group for me. My favorite joint in Vancouver was sold several months back and I hadn't had a good pie. Until today.

Cheese and toppings to the edge? Check. Cheese browned? Check. Those are my 2 basic criteria and obviously taste. Hot damn these pizza's were so dang good but being a glutton by nature, I showed restraint to my mom and decided to only partake in 3 pieces (will eat the rest tonight).

Prices are as expected for quality food and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Our server was just genuinely nice and had a positive attitude.

Oh, and a cocktail menu? Yes please next time!

Delicious food, great staff. This is a must stop place! The charcuterie board is one of the best I've ever had.... $20!!!! .. A lovely patio with unbrellas to block some sun if you'd like. Beautiful flower bushes with larger 4 top tables and cute bistro tables for two. Simply love this place. Oh and not to mention the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life.

Between 3 of us, we had Turkey Vegetable Soup, Canadian Pizza and Chicken Ceasar Wraps and everything was delicious, filling and decently priced. Never disappointed when we eat here!

Just like I posted with my photos, the food here is amazing. We ate both on our way to Tahsis for a 7 hike and on our way back. They are so good ... we chose them as our last meal leaving and our first meal back.

Their food is awesome! Had a great meal after a long drive. Wonderful staff, great to chat with!

Oh and for some reason, their hot chocolate kicks different! So gooooood ❤

This place is truly amazing, everyone I've met here has been friendly and the food is spectacular. I recommend the Salmon tacos, but everything seems to be great. Highly recommended when you're in town.

All three of us really enjoyed our food and just had to try the deserts. The cheese cake and other desert of course exceeded expectations as well. Highly recommend this place!

The atmosphere is casual but tasteful with local art on the walls. The food was delicious and upscale flavour details that would usually be seen in a downtown bistro. While the ling cod fish cakes were small, the details such as a grilled face lemon knocked the flavours out of the park. We had appies and dessert. The house made desserts of cheese cakes and Carrot cake were excellent. A gem in tiny Gold River. I would find time to stop in when I return.

This bistro is a real gem. The food was fantastic - nicely plated, very generous portions and served in a timely manner.
The staff were attentive and very friendly.
The outdoor seating area was peaceful with lovely views of the hills and forests.

My second trip to this little gem if a bistro. Had the most delectable beet salad, absolutely perfect from the first to last bite.

Had the Salmon special, the Rockfish Cakes and Tomato Dill soup. Everything was exceptional. Salmon was done to perfection and the salad was delicious. Great food, great service. Highly recommended!

Another gem of a place in the middle of nowhere. Just outside of town, the place had a nice decor. It was empty around 2pm. I had the best club sandwich of my life- bread was great, aioli/ garlic sauce (instead of Swiss cheese), nice portion size, good meat. We also had an excellent fresh garden salad, and a roast beef dip. All were excellent. A bottle of tap water was left on the table, so we didn't have to ask for refills. Prices were reasonable. Good experience. No negatives. I would go back and I recommend.

The chowder was very good. I'd come back for another bowl!

We were hospitably received on a busy evening with hot weather. Service was very friendly and warm. The indoor space is airy and clean. The owner chatted with us and even made suggestions for local activities and sightseeing. Despite the obvious culinary expertise there is no sense of arrogance. The food is thoughtfully and skillfully prepared: we had the Aztec bowl and the lemon thyme chicken dinner. We loved the emphasis on local, seasonal produce. This is a gem!

What a surprise to find this place when our plans were disrupted by a closure. We searched and found this lovely Bistro and WOW we were not disappointed. The service was excellent. The food was unexpectedly awesome. The beer was ICE cold. My husband was going to eat the chowder but they were sold out. He had a fantastic beef dip instead. The server brought him a sample of the chowder when it was ready. Who does that? We're planning our next visit!
