Dr. Nyo. Let's go straight to excellent. Reception was perfect and right on time. If you read the instructions given before the appointment you will know that by parking on the north side of the building you will enter on the second floor. Dr. Nyo is the most attentive physician I have encountered. He noticed that I had brought along some detailed notes about what I was experiencing. He asked me to tell him everything I had written down and listened carefully and asked questions for further explanation. He asked to keep my notes. He did ultrasound on the various areas where I was experiencing pain and showed me what he was seeing. He explained in basic language why the pain was happening. He suggested a plan of attack and diarized a call back to me in a few weeks. I am confident that with his treatment recommendations and my hard work I will overcome and manage my pain. I highly recommend Dr. Nyo.

I have been walking with a painful left foot that has affected my mobility in a big way for nearly 4 years, especially the last two. My family (former) family doctor wasted two years, even after many xrays and an MRI I had to pay for. I finally get to see a Rheumatologist and he refers me to Doctor Nyo, to complete some deep tissue ultrasound of my two feet. Dr Nyo found the troubled joints, offered to and completed Kenalog injections on the spot. Within a day I was nearly pain free, something I have not experienced for at least the last two years. Dr Nyo is so skilled I cant comprehend nor express the level of excellence in words. Thank you for helping me, you sir are a steely eyed missile man with that ultrasonic probe! Thank you thank you THANK YOU!

I was referred to Dr.Nyo after my rheumatologist retired and him and his staff have been great. The whole office is kind, efficient and helpful. Dr.Nyo doesn’t make you feel rushed and he addresses all of your concerns.

Saw Dr Ollaru for the first time recently, and she was amazing! Very compassionate, thorough, and takes time to answer all my questions. I wish I had been referred to her years ago.
I left that appointment feeling heard for the first time in years. Such a good experience!

First of all dr olaru is great. This is not about her but the office is simply unbelievable. My wife was diagnosed with RA. She was given early aggressive treatment. Her meds were reduced greatly since she was trying. She was in remission, followed by having a child.

After child birth now she is on no medications, it ran out. Called the office, they want a referral again. We got the referral and called them.

The response was, if you don’t hear back from us in two weeks call again.

How about do your job , set a reminder or whatever. So unprofessional..

Not sure how many times we will have to call for an appointment and how long it will take.

She is getting pain again and will need treatment ASAP. May be the receptionist will have someone in the their family get a debilitating condition and realize how it is to be treated this way.

The doctor is good, but I am at awe why isn't there a elevator to this doctors office??? Like many of this doctors patients have mobility issues and to walk up 2 flights of stairs is very difficult!!!! I just can't figure out why there is no elevator????

If I could give a lower rating I would. We were referred to Dr. Olaru for my daughter. She was dismissive, gave my highly intelligent daughter (who just so happens to love research) a paper with a fibromyalgia diagnosis that basically says you're stuck with it, there's nothing medicine will do for you. To a teenager with depression. Then sent us for blood work. It took us 3 clinics to get it done, and on the third clinic we had to get the paperwork resent from the doctors office because they didn't give us the correct forms. Then found out from the clinic that the doctor's office filled it out in a way that did not allow the clinic to do the test. Very disappointed, especially since this is a specialist you need to get referred to. They should know their job. :(

I have been struggling with so much pain and had been awaiting this appointment with a rheumatologist. However, my appointment with Dr. Nyo was not only useless, but also left me sobbing for the rest of the day.

Dr. Nyo seemed to have made up his mind before I got there that there was nothing he could do to help. Which, fine, I'm used to doctors not being able to do anything--but he approached the appointment without any compassion for me as a person who struggles with frequent pain. He told me my pain is a normal part of my genetic condition, but it's "harmless"--without asking me any in-depth questions about what sort of pain I get and where. He told me medication is generally useless with too many side effects--without asking whether I'm currently on any medication (I am), whether it's helping (it might be), or whether I'm experiencing any bothersome side effects (I'm not). And then he told me he would not be booking any follow-up for me.

The entire appointment was less than 15 minutes. A devastatingly useless waste of time.

I drove 2 hours each way to meet with Dr Olaru yesterday. She didn’t ask me about all of my symptoms, pushed a few places on my body , asked about my sleep, and told me I have fibromyalgia. When I asked about the multiple points of concern in my blood work she told me it’s my “baseline” since all the tests over various points in time were showing high. She printed off an information sheet and literally said “ best of luck in the future”. When I asked about treatment she basically said therapy and exercise both of which I have been doing vigorously over the last year with no physical improvements to the pain and joint locking. It seemed she had her mind made up about my issues before we even met. I left feeling so dismissed.

I waited over a year for this appointment and she wouldn’t even discuss my physical symptoms. After the appointment I looked up fibromyalgia and none of my symptoms align with those of fibromyalgia. I called the office to discuss this further. I left a message with her secretary as she had already gone for the day. I got a call back today from the secretary and was told the doctor said to follow up with my family doctor. I asked why would I do that when she’s the one that referred me to the specialist in the first place based on the evidence and symptoms presented. The response I got was “I don’t know I’m only the messenger”. I have not been able to talk to the doctor to further discuss her diagnosis and it seems I won’t be able to. I wasn’t looking to question her, but rather get clarification and understanding on how she came to her conclusion.

I have since been in touch with my family doctor asking for a second referral and I can only hope it doesn’t take another year to get in. I didn’t read any of reviews beforehand as that’s not a common practice of mine. I did notice a sign on the front desk asking for a rating with the doctor’s card.

In reading these reviews most of the experiences are similar. Patients not feeling heard, feeling invalidated, and feeling dismissed. If you get referred to Dr. Olaru ask for a different doctor. She doesn’t listen, brushes you off, and you can’t even talk to her to ask more questions for clarification. Oh, and she was late for our appointment which doesn’t typically bother me, but that seems to be an ongoing issue with her.
