Dr. Robert Chan MD

Dr. Chan is a highly qualified and skilled Orthopedic Surgeon. He is kind, empathic, and takes the time to listen to his patient's concerns. He creates a feeling trust and comfort with his patients. I had osteoarthritis in my thumb CMC joints in both hands and required removal of the trapeziums in 2016 and 2024. Dr. Chan is very caring and provides the best possible outcome for both functionality and pain relief . I highly recommend his services.

I had to wait 2 years to see Doctor Chan because of the epidemic slowing everything down. However, he was worth the wait! Doctor Chan operated on my right arm for carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome and tried really hard to put my tattoo back together as much as he could when he sutured my elbow up. I’m pain free/numbness free. I used to get cortisone injections in my wrist and I no longer need them. I went back to see him 9 months after my operation with some complaints of atypical presenting arm pain and he was thorough and sent me for an EMG. The neurologist told me she didn’t think that EMG or pre-surgery EMG was bad enough for surgery but I would argue that physical assessment is more important and I have such a better quality of life pain/arm-wise. I saw a physiotherapist for the post-surgical pain and it ended up being a pinched nerve in my neck treated with some dry needling. I still really appreciate him taking me seriously and validating my concerns. He was patient and encouraged me to ask questions during our initial appointment. He seems pretty busy when he’s at the hospital, but still took the time to answer all of my questions.

I met Dr.Chan after another doctor said he couldn’t help me and that I’d have to live with my condition. Dr. Chan has performed numerous surgeries on me and every time I felt like he explained things well, I had a complete understanding of what was going on. He is empathetic and kind, his staff has also always treated me very well. I’m thankful he’s been able to help me
