Foothills Medical Centre

The staff here have been caring for my brother for almost two months. They are thorough, compassionate, and very patient. Doctors, nurses and all other staff really work together in caring for patients. A special mention to units 66 and 72 :)

Overnight stay was fantastic. I’m not one to rave about food or service at a hospital but just wow! Staff was amazing at the McCaig Tower Day surgery PAC Unit Eden, Jill, Jasmine, Grace and Jessica went over the top to make sure my stay was comfortable. Food was great and would definitely not hesitate to have another surgery here (hopefully not soon though lol). The team was fantastic and thanks again!!!

Amazing experience and service from all of the staff members. A special shout out to the amazing volunteers who helped us get around this huge facility. And a heartfelt thank you to Sue, night nurse in Unit 46. She was an absolutely amazing person to speak with, and her level of care is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced at any AHS facility. Thank you.

My spouse and I were blown away by the level of care we received during the unexpected early arrival of our baby boy. We dealt with so many different people, it would be difficult to name them all. We we scared, unsure, and well out of our element as we have only just arrived in the are.

The doctors and nurses were nothing short of amazing, talking us through everything and safely bringing our little bundle into the world. I can never thank them all enough for taking such good care of our little family, but I will forever be grateful to them for all they did for us.

Foothills Medical Centre is located in City of Calgary in Alberta, and is one of the most famous health centres, and leading teaching and research hospitals in Canada. As a part of University of Calgary Medical Centre, it covers over 2 millions people in Alberta and surrounding provinces with over 1,100 beds and advanced health care equipment and cutting edge technologies! Excellent service with amazing physicians, nurses, technicians, and service staff! Thank you for saving lives!

So grateful for this amazing hospital. I was born here back in 2005. The staff are amazing, and I’ve been here many times for different reasons over the past 19 years. Really is a lifesaver.

Best hospital in the calgary. Staffs and doctors are very cooperative, helpful and caring. I have personal experience with Lindsay Burnett, she is very good and very caring, she helps me with my recovery. She is awesome and best. Also Dr. Gabriel and Dr. Brown are best the doctors.

I want to Thank everyone in labor and delivery at Foothills hospital that were there on November 9th Room 20 .We were so lucky to get Nurse Lindsey !!! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us .Thankyou Dr Mcintosh. And Thankyou to everyone who stepped into the room at 4:40pm I know your faces but unfortunately not the names in the moment .
All the Doctors and Nurses were so in sync with eachother it was a busy day .You could tell that they have a great team and don’t mind helping eachother out and going above and beyond to put their patients best interest first .

I delivered my 1st baby this Friday after my water broke at 2 am that day. Nurses are really helpful as well as the Doctors. The building is a little old. I got a private room for delivery and a shared room for postpartum.

Honestly, I don't know where to start. I got airlifted to this hospital for a neck surgery, and I got the best of care here. The ground and the air ambulance guys were amazing, the nurses genuinely took care of me before the surgery despite being super busy. Megan, Rachel and Edward really cared for me in unit 31. Dr. Newton is an excellent surgeon, the reassurance you gave before the surgery really helped. Thanks to Dr Fadden, Dr Chris and Dr Shawn for helping me through the whole process. The recovery unit nurse was amazing too. And to all the other medical staff who took care of me, including the food service, I really appreciate your help.

I am deeply thankful for the neurology and radiation staff taking such good care of my mom through the last few months. You've made a stressful time much easier to handle with your kindness and professionalism:)

I had surgery here at the end of October 2023, everyone from the minute I checked in were absolutely wonderful. Awfully nice people work there, made me feel so comfortable and at ease.

Sad to see the whole deal with the fent crisis unfold in the waiting room. I don’t know how the caring staff cope

Thank you , thank you, thank you for all of you that took care of me during my almost a week staying at Unit 41A room 426, from the day I was accepted to the day I left the hospital. You were all kind, respectful, professional, knowledgeable and ready to help me with every single demand I had during my staying and I couldn't go through this process without your help. I don't want to name all of you here because I want you all to feel included in this review, from the persons that cleaned my room to the person that answered my calls, especially all the nurses and aides that were attending me non stop every time I had an issue. You were all smiling under your masks (I could see your eyes smiling too!) and the professionalism was unparalleled. Thank you all!! May life give you back what you have given me, doubled!!

This hospital is not the most beautiful aesthetically speaking and is badly in need of a modernization. However the staff at this institution from the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, social workers, to the cleaning staff, are second to none. They are some of the nicest, most understanding individuals that make the very scary and complicated healthcare experience one that is easier to navigate. I feel very fortunate to have this hospital in my own city and have constantly impressed at the level of care offered in at this hospital.

Went to Emerge with a swelling finger. Staff were kind and helpful. I was provided a solution and relief quickly, the nurse was kind and firm handed, the Dr had a lovely manner and solid advice. **They are still wearing masks, bring your own for comfort **

I love coming here for all my emergency stuff.. TheDoctors are older, smarter, seriously cares about your well being, &over all health problems issue"" ** never mine, what the paper say,___ how do you feel sir?** the environment is much better, not like peterlouge ER, Peter is full of india, India are very rude people. And noisy family calls..

I was a patient on the third floor My waiting time was aliitle long but I was comfortable The staff and everybody looked after me 100 percent I can’t thank them enough A special thanks to the EMT team

I had my first surgery at the foothills hospital today and it went super smooth. The front desk staff, the doctors, nurses resident and medical students and the surgeon were all super kind and calming. From the Day and Recovery Surgery unit, This is definitely a place I would feel comfortable being sent to again and can’t say that for other hospitals and staff I’ve deal with in the past. Thank you to all the AHS staff and volunteers for all your hard work, long hours and kindness that you remain to show.

On Sunday night I was experiencing symptoms of a stroke. My husband took me to Sundre, then I was sent my ambulance to Foothills. When I arrived there was 2 doctors and 2 nurses waiting for me. Within 10 minutes I was in a CT scan. Within another 10 I was administered TPA. After that I was checked every 30 minutes. The care I received from Sundre through to my time in Foothills was absolutely exceptional. Throughout the experience my husband and I would compliment and thank the staff and some of them almost seemed surprised we were expressing how grateful we were. People tend to only give negative feedback, these are people that deserve to be told they are doing a great job. They work long hours and make sacrifices with their families the least we can do as patients is give them a simple thank you.
