A hidden gem in North York. Very thoughtful employees who get to know your family and give amazing advice and good prices. I’ve purchased well over ten unique board games that my kids love. Highly recommended for board games and Ed books.

Hidden gem! I stumbled across this book store while going to another store. Glad I did! Lots of variety, from fiction to language textbooks to board games. Staff were also very helpful and friendly!

Great Canadian source for AoPS materials. Costs less to buy from Batner than to order directly from AOPS in the U.S. (exchange rate, shipping costs and duty). Very thankful there's this local option!

Great place. A lot of variety for such a small place in North York of all places. A collection of french language literature, and a well stocked board game section as well. Owner is also very patient and kind.

Large selection of workbooks for child French classes, and a very informative staff. The book organization is a bit scattered, so you’ll probably need to ask staff questions if you can’t find what you are looking for.

Happy customers for 11 years. This place is a gem. Always professional, efficient and friendly. Appreciate the flexibility too (was able to bring back and exchange a textbook when the school decided to change their mind on edition). Prices competitive with Amazon and Indigo, especially considering bricks and mortar, and the value added services & knowledge. Hope for many more good years in business!

Very Polite ,helpful and positive place with very positive owners

I love this place! It definitely is a hidden gem that a coworker told me about. First of, it's not as big as an indigo bookstore however it is a better location to get school textbooks, workbooks and other novels, etc. I come here quite often for resources (it has a great variety for French materials). Lastly, the staff members are absolutely friendly and very helpful! This is definitely a happy spot for any learners/educators!

The staff at Batner are always friendly, personable and professional. I’ve bought and sold books many times from Batner, and it’s always been an extremely positive experience-especially when they had to deal with store limits due to covid. Highly recommended!

We have been customers for years - service is first rate. Website is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Aside from all sorts of books (novels, textbooks, etc.) Batner has a great selection of board games and puzzles that may not be easily available elsewhere.

Batner Bookstore has a large selection of new and used textbooks for students from elementary to secondary school in three languages - English, French and Hebrew. In addition, the store carries a wide range of books by Canadian and international writers, graphic novels and board games. Staff are friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure to drop in either to buy a specific item or just to browse.
