529 Wellington Steakhouse

Thank you 529, the meal was perfect. The appetizers were filled with flavour that made it hard not to finish eating. When the beef Wellington came, it smelt amazing. The meat could not have been cooked better. We had an espresso with dessert, which couldn’t be beat, and we were completely satisfied. The atmosphere had so much character and history, it was beautiful. Lastly, we have never had better service. There was nothing the waiter did not know about the food. He was attentive and friendly. We could not have had a better experience.

Drinks, food, atmosphere, everything was amazing. Service was top notch!! I got the tenderloin steak and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. 100% recommend and worth the price☺ great experience

One of the best steaks you will have hands down. This is a classic fine dining experience so be ready to pay for it. And pay well! But it's worth every penny and I fell in love with their rib eye steak. The service is top notch and the decor is super classy. It has the old school English vibe and it was great.

The steak was delicious. It was nicely pink in the middle and juicy. You have a ton of options for side dishes and we loved the spinach. However the mushroom wasn't all that and it felt a little oily. The star is the steak and you have to try it.

I went here for my birthday dinner, so this review is dated to more than 6 months ago. It is unarguably the best restaurant I’ve been to in Winnipeg till date! Food, wine, service and ambience are all spectacular, faultless and top notch!!! Their Rib Eye steak is to die for. I liked everything about this place. The waiter explained all of their steak offerings!! You’ve earned my 5 stars.. ❤

This was our first time trying 529 Wellington. The building itself is very nice to look at, with a very warm antique aesthetic. To start we had the lobster bisque and yorkshire pudding. The lobster bisque had great flavor with a nice kick of spice, highly recommend giving it a try. The yorkshire puddings were okay, but they were not crisp on the outside. Both the beef wellington and ribeye 17oz were cooked perfectly and were very tender. The beef wellingtons flavors were great. I would maybe add a sauce on the side for the steak next time. The lobster mac and cheese and asparagus hollandaise were okay, but could have had more seasoning. Overall, the service was great. I'd definitely recommend coming here to try their steaks.

The best high-end steakhouse in Winnipeg. From the historic mansion, it's located in, to the amazing knowledgeable staff. The decor and ambiance reflect the quality of 529 Wellington. Food is superior. Free parking and plug-in for electric vehicles.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch in December as a first timer focusing on my favorite appetizer, Baked French Onion Soup.
The soup at 529 did not disappoint and was one of the top 5 of many restraunts I've enjoyed.

529 is great. We love the food and the ambiance. Whether we are stopping in for a quick lunch or dinner, the service has always been wonderful.

The food isn’t groundbreaking, but they do serve classics and they serve them well.

If you intend to come for dinner, I would recommend making a reservation, esp on the weekends as they do tend to be busy.

We, personally, prefer the lunch ambiance because it’s not busy and super laid back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at 529 Wellington, and I have to say it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff. The decor was beautiful and inviting, with a cozy and rustic feel.

The menu was extensive and had something for everyone, but I decided to try one of the their Canadian Prime steaks they are know for and I was not disappointed. The flavors were expertly balanced and the presentation was stunning. Each bite was a taste sensation, and I couldn't help but savor every mouthful. The side dishes are also wonderful for sharing with the table and are portioned large enough for many to enjoy.

The service was top-notch, with the waitstaff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to make recommendations and helped me pair my meal with the perfect wine. I also appreciated that they checked in on us multiple times throughout the meal to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.

The restaurant also had a great atmosphere, with a lively but not overwhelming buzz. It was the perfect spot for a date night or a special occasion. I also loved that they had a great selection of desserts, and I couldn't resist trying their homemade lemon cheesecake. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a fantastic fine dining experience, I highly recommend checking out 529 Wellington. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes.

Went for the lunch time menu which was superb. The service is excellent. A gratifying experience.

This restaurant is so stunning that we actually drove by because we didn't think that it was actually the location. Really, truly stunning. Prices reflect the excellent service level. Went inside and staff offered to take our coats with coat check. Server was an expert on wine and specials. However, we didn't expect that the entrees didn't come with sides. We found that the asparagus was definitely easy to share between three people. But, the twice baked potatoe is definitely better to share between two.

Stunning location for dinners and group events. The food is devine, drinks are delightful and staff are exceptional. We hosted a team dinner here. Drinks were served on the patio and we had a private room for dinner. No one left hungry but everyone left happy.

Pricy, as expected. We picked this place because we wanted to splurge for a special occasion. Server was amazing, food was great. Restaurant was lovely old house. Some people in there looked like regulars, but we are too frugal to make it a regular occurrence.

My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday last night here at Wellington and they did not disappoint. It was the best experience! Our server did not only do an excellent job but he actually went the extra mile to make sure everything went perfectly. It was fun and the food was superb. You get what you pay for. Will definitely come back again! :)

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at this exquisite restaurant. Health protocols are properly implemented, with friendly staff ensuring the safety of all guests. From the oysters on the half shell and fantastic wine list, to the liqueur sundae with coffee and brandy snifters, everything was perfect. It is a unique experience with really cool architecture, artwork and intimate 'break out' dining rooms throughout.

The overall service was impeccable, the food and drinks were delicious. We had the onion ring tower (6 onion rings was enough for two people), seafood trio and tenderloin with prawns, two sides which are a la carte and big portions. Our hostess marnie was delightful and prompt. Would highly recommend.
