We came here late night after a concert for some quick eats and a glass of wine. The atmosphere was fun, our server was great and attentive, and the food was surprisingly creative! They blended Asian inspo into the food and I really appreciated the taste! It was good, I was thoroughly surprised as typical late night eats tend to be more of the same! This was actually yummy!

Wow, I just have to give the highest compliments to our server Colin, they went above and beyond for us on Sunday afternoon. Our reservation has some major allergy and dietary restrictions and Colin never made them feel annoying or anything, he took all of the concerns very seriously and always went back to the kitchen to double check ingredients - which he took pictures to double check for them. This is some of the nicest service I have ever encountered, and we will definitely be back. Food came quickly and was all delicious - rave reviews about the gluten free buns. If you have celiac this place has a dedicated fryer and really cares about you.

I do not have any dietary restrictions but appreciate when everyone can enjoy their meal without any concerns and Colin really made us feel taken care of! The peanut noodle salad was also delicious!

I really enjoyed my visit here! It was a bit noisy as it's the holiday season, but that's okay. I ordered the Local Burger and it was really good. They have a great gluten-free bun, and I felt my waitress was knowledgeable. The service was really quick as well, about 3 different staff were checking up on us. The drinks are yummy too!

My wife and tried this place for the first time last night and had a great experience! The restaurant has a fun, upbeat vibe to it, which we love!! I had the Local Burger and was very impressed - really good bun - really good beef - really good house sauce - made for a fantastic burger. Great selection in upbeat music as well. We were seated on the main floor but also went to check out the second floor, which is impressive, with another whole separate bar area up there, along with fun games. Hosts and servers were friendly and efficient! Overall great first impression and we hope to visit again.

Absolutely a great lunch at the LOCAL today. Great food service by Jeff and drinks done right by Jacob. We both had good brews, her was a Pabst, and mine was a tasty 7% Nonsuch craft brew. Her majesty's HBC Furtrade sailing ship, the Nonsuch(AD1650) replica, sits in the Manitoba Museum and is also the name (HMCS) of the naval reserve detachment in Edmonton. Only fitting this naval veteran try some brew so apply named. I had the Crispy Chicken Sand with Calabrian Ceasar and a side of onion rings. Everything was very tasty with a tinge of wonderful different spices in the food dip for the onion rings and the fried fish. The fried fish was perfect, not over or under cooked, and my chicken was perfectly cooked. The coleslaw was scrumptious and flavourful. I think everything thing was made fresh which makes it better. I thought prices were more than the average restaurant but certainly the taste and quality was worth it. I will definitely return here the next time I'm in YWG.

Wings were great. Came to the table hot. Burger was so good. It was like an elevated Big Mac. Ceaser salad was good and had a bit of spice to it (not much). That Korean boel was tasty, though I found the beef in it only ok. Lots of beers on tap. Great spot.
***update***
I went again and ordered the same thing and the burger was undercooked and I found hard lumps in the meat. I could not finish the burger. They were super busy so I did not say anything. Ate more than half of it before I saw it was still raw. Had a sore stomach afterwards. Disappointed. Wife had the chicken burger and that was good.

So I can only speak to the my experience upstairs with bottle service. Some colleagues and I were celebrating after an award show. My point of contact was Malay, and she was bananas amazing. Everything was seamless and the service was sterling. Our server was also just super competent and cool. I didn't even get her name because food would just show up and she just kept it pushing. All in all a great place if your at the stage of your life where you just want to enjoy what you have earned and let your hair down for bit.

If there was more than 5 stars I would give more.

RE/MAX Performance Realty - Outperform.ca had our company’s annual holiday party at LOCAL this year. Instead of the stodgy sit down dinner and dance, we shook things up with a Mix and Mingle with pass around appies, food station with more than enough for 80 hungry people who had an amazing time. So many positive comments from EVERYONE who attended. Food was amazing. Thank you Kevin. Sliders, tacos, steak bites, beet humus, golden dragon chicken, edamame, dumplings, crispy potatoes and more. And the desert, OMG, so good. Guys behind the bar are a talented bunch and didn’t disappoint with their creative cocktails. Chanel and serving crew outstanding. Kept the food coming (hot and lots of it) and the service was impeccable. Thank you to Riley Edwards and Malay Pilz for co-oridinating everything to make it such a fun and memorable event. We’ll be back… for sure.

We booked a last minute bachelor/bachelorette party for dinner, we couldn’t believe how efficient the meal service was and how speedy our server Delaney was! She did a great job keeping our bills organized and making sure everyone was taken care of!! So fun so cute, would 100% recommend.

I had a great time tonight! The servers and kitchen staff worked their butts off during the jets game rush and were still so friendly and accommodating. Both my cocktails were delicious and the loaded crispy potatoes were AMAZING. Thank you!!

Such a warm and cozy place to spend your perfect Sunday afternoon! The ambience is vibrant with it's plants that sets the tone to enjoy your lunch in the winter background.
The service was amazing and very hospitable.
The food was 9/10, with an adaptable drinks menu that were well suited for non-alcoholics. Special favorite: Malaysian curry bowl

My partner and I shared a great experience at the bar top yesterday after a Sea Bears game. We were happily greeted and served by Jen (not sure if that's the correct spelling, sorry). She was an exceptional bartender and server and was super pleasant to talk to! Highly recommend all around.

Close to Canada life, good happy hour special to get in for drinks couple hours before game. Bustling but not too busy, food out on time.

Coming for visit from out of town, would recommend come in couple hours before Jets game for happy hour. And go upstairs for Basketball arcade with friends, which has seen better days!

Also, kid friendly which is pleasant surprise (at least during day)

Went for fried chicken fest. 🍗
The server was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I told her I'm undecided between two drinks and asked her about both and she helped me decide which one to get!
When it came to food, we ordered the fried chicken fest special. Honestly, for the fest, it's nothing special but still yummy and good quality. But really, It was just a fried chicken sandwich but I guess with melted cheese. I wish food event specials were more creative. I like it but not my winner for the fest (sorry).
Anyway, I'm not a fan of pickles or pickled peppers and asked for no pickles. That's definitely MY oops because pickles are very different from pickled peppers. When it came with the pickled peppers, I notified them and they quickly replaced it even with the yam fries sided and the server kindly gave me the other drink I didn't get initially for free to apologize. Definitely not necessary but their customer service is beyond great!!
I think it'd be a great place to go for drinks with friends after work. Lots of larger tables for groups. Will keep this place in mind for that. ✌

I went to local and had such a great experience. The vibes at the bar top were amazing! Our bartender, Cam, recommended us the local fried chicken, his service was great and the dish was delicious!

Had a nice evening here on Tuesday. Every staff member we interacted with (dropping of drinks/food, touching base, etc) was incredibly attentive, friendly, and warm. The food was great, and the cocktails were good. Only thing is the food menu is pretty pared down, especially if you don't eat meat.

Fantastic restaurant. We had a variety of food. The blackened chicken Ceasar salad was particularly great! Our server Matt was amazing, and very attentive! Definitely will come again!

Love Local. The staff is incredible, the food is great. They keep an awesome selection of local craft beer on tap and their happy hour prices are amazing. Riley the GM is very hands on and insures your experience is exceptional.

Came here for the Jets game during the Whiteout party. The staff were very friendly and welcoming! Haven't been anywhere like this before in Winnipeg! Was pleasantly surprised to see that they had espresso martini in a shot, which tasted fantastic. Definitely will be returning here to try their food from the beautiful open concept kitchen!

Brought a party of almost 20 (with a reservation) for lunch and the service was excellent! Our server Jeff was attentive and timely. Our food came out quickly and we were in and out in under 1.5 hours. Everyone enjoyed their food, I would definitely recommend Local!
