Stopped in here a couple of months back while in town for the Jets game. Great place! The bartender (I believe his name was Jason) was really nice and great to talk with and I love the sauce options for the fries. Really enjoyed it!

We had a great experience in this restaurant. We came late to our hotel and were looking for something to eat. The man at the restaurant was very friendly, gave us advice about the portions and we had a great meal. There was a good atmosphere. I would certainly recommend to go here.

Nice low-key place to chill after a long day. No tv or ultra-low music to yell over, solid food and good drinks. Kelly's a gem and is probably the reason I'll be back.

Great service and the burgers are incredible. One of the best burgers I've ever had. The whiskey onions are a welcome addition. Good beer and drinks selection as well.

It’s been a while since I ate there. The burgers were the same and the staff just as friendly. Best place to be before the games.

Stopped in with my daughter for a meal before a Jet’s game. Erin, our server, greeted us and had us pick a seat (my daughter picked her favourite table under the picture of the cow on the wall). The food was fantastic!! Burgers, fries and onion rings 👍

Erin made sure our experience was great and it was!!! If you’re downtown and looking for a spot to have a cold drink and an awesome meal, I highly recommend stopping in at the Tipsy Cow!!!

Excellent food and service here. We went for "Burgerweek" to share a burger, and without even asking them, they made sure to cut it in half and put them on separate plates for my wife and I. It was excellent by the way The waitress was very friendly and took the time to talk with us a bit. Excellent experience! Will definitely go back.

The Tipsy Cow is a fantastic restaurant in the heart of downtown. They use local, quality ingredients and have an incredibly creative mixologist who makes the best cocktails, sometimes with ingredients prepared weeks or months in advance for "limited run" features.

We went there for burger week, and we were not disappointed. We had The Romeing Goat, 1/3 lb chuck patty, goat cheese, romesco, balsamic caramelized onions, bacon aioli, arugula, brioche bun. We ordered a dip flight of chips to share. House cut fries Cajun, honey dill and peppercorn.
The bun is so soft and held up marvelously. Their romesco sauce starts with roasted red peppers & tomatoes fresh from the farm. Then they simmer them with stock, herbs, almonds & hazelnuts.

This was our first visit to the Tipsy Cow at 285 Portage Ave. in Winnipeg. From the street the place looks like a small downtown bar nestled in between other businesses. Once you enter you are greeted by a long fashionable and comfortable bar, but the instant vibe you pick up on is trendy and hip. The server welcomed us in with a friendly disposition and seated us. The drinks menu is local friendly containing some of the best locally brewed beers and ales, but also includes some Winnipeg made vodka an gin. The food menu also promotes local products, kudus Tipsy Cow. My wife chose the chip and dip as an appetizer. The in house made tortilla chips and homemade dip were both light and delicious. I chose the Winnipeger burger and fries for my main. The meat for the buger was moist and simply tasty. The toppings and brioche bun were a perfect combination making for a winning burger. To finish off the meal I opted for the Lemon Square. It was a tasty memory of a desert mom would make, only modernized with a lovely orange caramel sauce. All in all Tipsy Cow is a little gem of a place I intend to revisit again.

Best homemade burgers in winnipeg, the server there was also very nice and helpful. The flavors come together very nicely, willing to spend $ for the quality.
Fries are good! I didn't see what other reviews were complaining about, they are seasoned well and go great with gravy.
(Edit: Drinks since review are perfect, loved the recommended whiskey sour too)

Food was great. Felt bad for the staff. They were really understaffed before the Eric Church concert. Still enjoyed it. Would go back. Gluten free options

Went before a Jets game, understandably they have a smaller event night menu to keep up with service. Food and beers were good and service was excellent. Would definitely go again.

I've been here twice in the last week. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the food and the speed and friendliness of the staff.

First visit:
I tried the Tasty Bacon Cheeseburger, with a side of poutine. The burger itself was very flavourful, the bacon was thick and I could actually taste it (not true of all burger places). I loved the BBQ sauce and surprisingly, the bun was a highlight. It was the perfect size to hold everything in and was light, without getting soggy. Overall, a well-made and tasty burger that lives up to its name. For $11 with fries, it's a very reasonable lunch. The side poutine was made with crisp fries that handled the gravy well and had a generous amount of cheese curds throughout, rather than just being sprinkled on top like many places do. The only negative of the visit was that there was no local draft beer left, save for the last half glass that was on the house as an apology (and much appreciated). Given they were only open for 3 weeks at this point, I'll take it as a sign that they're selling well. :)

Second visit:
I had to go back to try the Burger Week entry and was not disappointed. Again, a tasty beef patty, with a generous amount of stringy cheese and a pile of pickled vegetables on top. Despite being pickled, the veggies actually had a fairly sweet flavour which balanced well with the savoury/salt flavour of the beef and the garlic aioli. Paired with a side of crispy fries and a beer, I had a very fulfilling meal for $15.

I'm looking forward to making this a regular spot to grab a burger and beer. Well done!

Great little place . Try the borscht! The dill was great in it. Would be a good place to go to before the Jets game for wings. The server Paula was great!

Excellent food that is locally sourced for the most part. Great location for eating before or after an event at BellMTS Place. Good Happy Hour deals as well!

The most tender chicken burger I've had so far, really super good. The service was great too, special mention to the cocktail that my boyfriend drank and greatly appreciated. So glad to have this restaurant near my place !

Went here while staying downtown on business and was very happy. Didn't realize it was a jets game night, but easily got a seat and food was fast and delicious. Had the burger platter for two and it was very tasty. Really tast the high end cheese on the burgers. We will be returning.

Highly recommend if you're in the downtown area! We went before a concert and loved everything, from the name to both the drink and food menu choices, to the food itself! Staff was also very friendly. Didn't have time to take a pictures as our burgers were too good to put down. Please, go check it out!
