Very interesting for youngsters and adults. Exhibits old textile, printing equipment and more. Worth a visit when one has free time. Count on 90 min to spend a reasonable amount of time

Over several floors, lots to look at, and read. (Dutch, French and English). The special exhibition was on the Ghent iron works, which was very interesting.

Fun museum to kill a couple of hours. If you have spare time in the city, I recommend going. It’s definitely walkable from the city center. I’m a textile buff so this was very interesting to me. It has great history about the textile past of Ghent.

Some amazing machines and artifacts, displayed in context with the lives of people who worked or owned them. Check the schedule for live demonstrations of the typography and printing machines.
One minor thing: the temporary exhibition on metalworking looked amazing, but sadly the text was only in Dutch... (all the other exhibitions are in Dutch, French and English)

Nice museum about the history of machines. You can experience primitive methods, steam machines, their revolutions, electric machines. There is also a workshop about papers/printings on 4th floor, so cute. You need at least 1-1.5 hour to visit all the floors.

Beautiful museum very well located with a little restaurant. And also the view through the windows is amazing.
One of the few museums I could go to together with the kids and still enjoy as an adult. This because they have a special edition for the kids, in Dutch but still, the creative corners can be used and play for all kids no matter language.
Totally kid friendly!!

One of the most beautifully curated museums in Belgium. The storytelling is both intelligent and creative. Loved how the museum connected the industrial r(evolution) with Gent's skyline and landmarks; and how it used different mediums, like sound and animated 3D models, to explain how machines worked. Other museums should take que from this one.

One great experience!
A thorough approach on both the local and global textile and printing industry. The display of machines and the actual working processes are without match! Thank you!
The staff (especially the typesetters - thank you for the great talk and the special present for my amazed father) is very nice, helpful and making sure it is a great experience no matter the conditions.

Learnt alot about industrialisation and the sophistication of textile and printing. I totally didn't know that Belgians are pioneer innovators in the two fields. We had our toddlers with us but I think its best to visit with older kids. Totally worth the time and money!

The museum is quite small but I enjoyed it very much. Seeing the old looms working is just fascinating! They also manufacture textile on site, some of which can be purchased at the museum shop.

Incredible 5-story museum displaying rare machines and presses like steam engines, excellent displays with videos that share the stories of prominent and meager Ghent citizens who helped grow the city. The mood you feel when you learn about the painful labor is real. The machines alone are worth seeing. Good place for adults and kids.

A treasure of Ghent! Lots of textiles and printing on show.. Their machines are still running during the day by their staff! Although the machines are noisy, it's really interesting how the industry used to work in Ghent.
Tip: go to the top floor, and you'll see one of the best views of the skyline of Ghent

If you like old industrial machines then you will like this museum. Very cool to see how things were made. Little bits of interactive activities, perfect for big and little kids.

We actually went there only because most museums were closed on Monday. Really good decision! For students under 25 its only 2€ and there is so much to see. Really interesting accounts of live and machinery during the industrial ages as well as a lot of interactive things to do. There is also always thing to to for children!
