Wonderful bar and delicious beer. chic atmosphere. Special thanks for the basket of shoes. But I also can’t help but admire the excellent work of the bartender’s girl. Cheerful, friendly and very beautiful! I will be happy to visit your bar again. The girl can be given a bonus. I will be glad to see her again, I don’t mind feedback)

This place is a must whilst visiting Ghent. Has a great beer menu and atmosphere is always great.

The service is a bit slow, there is no food menu other than bar snack of salami.

I opted for the 1.2 litre drink which you need to give your shoe in exchange as a deposit for the drink. A nice novelty experience.

One of the most unique bars I've ever been to. It's a great place with its atmosphere and over 500 types of beer. I can spend hours testing beer.

Great real Belgian beer bar/pub experience. The menu of beers is overwhelming but the bartenders are kind (and patient) enough to explain.

Don't forget your to pick up your shoes from the ceiling if you order their traditional 1.2L glass 😉

Absolutely unique experience! One shoe as a collateral for the Max Beer was fun. The atmosphere was good to chill and enjoy the varieties of beer! Friendly employees too. A must try in Ghent!

The Mecca and Holy Grail for all beer enthusiasts! This place had the largest selection of beer in Ghent, with over 500 types of beer. They also offer tastings as well. The best part: you get a special mug specific to each beer you order, and you can keep them. The only exception is one large and special glass that requires one of your shoes as collateral, thereby ensuring that you don't sneak the glass out. I tried over 15 beers, loved them all, and was barely able to walk out due to the strength of the beers.

I had the rêche mel bush beers- peach and raspberry. Raspberry was the winner. 8%- strong and delicious!! Could have stayed there for hours on end.

A lovely bar with gorgeous design and a nice twist. Here you can trade your shoe for a beer. Not entirely though meaning that you still have to pay for your beer but the shoe is like a safety measure to make sure you do not steal the glass (which by the way is 90 euro if you brake it). But besides this they have more than 100 beers. We had also coconut beer (never heard of it before). So yes the place to be. Also good prices

The beer was great. Stay was super rude. We reported a mobile phone on our table we found when we sat there. The waiter said that its his mobile phone, first thanked then mocked me of stealing it and left with racist look.

This place is a fun spot to visit. Great love tin with a view and fun vibe. My husband got the large dark beer and he if fact had to give his shoe. The dark beer was really good. Hundreds of other unique beer & non alcoholic options.

Provably my favorite pub in Ghent. Dulle Griet offers 500+ different beers, which is mind-blowing. For each beer they have a dedicated glass from the brewery, rather unique. What to say about the atmosphere and the decorations - impressive. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they speak good English. A greater variety of food could be proposed, but you can always bring your own if you wish. Be aware that if you order the 1.2L beers they take one of your shoes to make sure you don't steal the glass - hilarious to say the least. Will be back!

Huge variety of beers. Interesting deposit system for the 1.2lt beer glasses where you need to give a shoe. Nothing to eat though, not expecting a kitchen per se but would have been nice to have some snacks. The music is great! Not super noisy so you can still enjoy a conversation with some good songs behind. The terrace is great too but I highly recommend having a drink inside too as the atmosphere is completely different. The service is not too slow, but almost!

This is an amazing place - the celling alone - delicious beer - for some reason the appear to be growing bamboo in the window - the tall beers- shoe basket- the background music (outcast hea ya and wicked game while I was there ) - religious statues over the bar - just the most elcltic place ever - an absolute must

Dulle Greit is strategically located in the middle of the main Street, which is a major tourist attraction. It's also one of the famous beer bars in Ghent. Its interior is very interesting as it's an old Pub house with old wooden Flemish Interiors. It has more than 400+ different Beers to drink. It has both local & international beers available here. It has both an outdoor and indoor sitting area. For a beer pitcher you need to give one of your shoes, if you can't finish it then the shoes remain hanging up in the ceiling.... I tried 4 varieties of beer and I must say they were awesome

One of the classic spots in Gent. They got over 500 beers on the menu and the option to order a 1.2 Liter long glass. The interior of the place is beautiful and really created a fun vibe, definitely recommend checking them out!

The inside ambience is really cool. They do have over 500 hundred beers and you cant even decide which one to drink from the menu because it takes pages. If you would like to go for a big beer with special glass (1.2L), you must give one of your shoes to them as a deposit. You can of course take it back when you hand the empty glass over safe and sound. That’s an interesting tradition. One negative comment would be that prices are higher

Amazing collection of 500 beers! All the trappists, including Westvleteren, which is the first time ever I had one in a cafe. Nice outside terrace, quick service.

There are a large selection of Belgian Beers on offer at good prices, including a few options in 1.2l glasses. If you choose to order one of these, you must leave a shoe as a deposit when ordering due to the value of the glass, if you break it you pay €90 for it to be replaced, and if you steal it, they keep your shoe.

It is a busy place with lots of atmosphere.
